Click the robe, then go make yourself a quick bite to eat. 30 Second cast time on this thing is a bit nutty.. =b
Right now I can click Arcane rune while sitting on my mount. And it will take me about as much time to regain all the mana that was used to cast it.. =b
if you REALLY REALL REALLY REALLY wanna chain rune so bad... get a few of these and a few beguiler robes and carry em around, switch em in and out to use effect and u can run IV all day... only if you are REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY desperate to waste your time.
Everyone keeps whining about rune 4 and why not rune 5
yeah dmg absorb is higher so what? Chain rune 5 and do it with rune 3/4 and bedlam /berseker str and lemme know about the aggro in both case.
what you want is efficiency and anytime you cast a rune 5 on a MA during a fight it often leads to mister iwannacastthehighestdamageasbordspell is summoned bing bang LOADING PLEASE WAIT
so yes rune 4 is a good, manaless effect on that robe / and yes the stats on that robe are plainly enough to be worth to get asap
The reason why that wouldn't be good is that if they added an extremely long casting time and long recast then that would mean this item could not be used to chain rune. That's really the only thing i'd use that effect for anyway due to rune 5's higher damage absorber.
The stats on this robe are very nice... agreeable by all... but as it is pointed out we have to use the same expensive reagent to cast runeV. Why do the not just remove the need for the reagent and just put a longer recast time on the robe? you not exactly superman with that spell if you have to wait like two minutes to recast the spell or something. i mean at this level with a chanter , if you are getting hit , you are usually in a situation where you are getting double and quad hits for 100-150+ for extremely mad mobs that are pissed at you for mezing them or attempting to mez them haha. at that point 350-400 dmg shield is gone and you are WAY too worried about other things at that point to try and recast this effect on yourself.
so why not make it there 20second cast time and like a 2 minute recast or something? that is not too uber and you are not going broke casting a lamer shield on yourself in the process.
my question is do these people actually play these characters when they come up with the stats/effects on them ? because if they did they would better think out some of the planes gear and other things.not just on this item , but many others as well
And most people consider it easier to get this robe than the Beguiler's, due to the fact that raiding Kael requires just as much time and/or seniority acquisition for the enchanted robe drop, then you must compete against all pure casters, not just fellow enchanters for seniority, but then on top of that you have to acquire the three pristine emeralds, which is a lot of time deep in Velious dungeons, or several dozen K. Lastly, it may or may not require faction juggling, which is doubtful, but still an issue.
Even if they removed the effect, this is still one of the better robes in the game. The stats, plus the 60 hp/mana are worth getting this thing alone. They wanted to put an effect on just so it would be worth a bit more...so what. By the time you're able to get this, you've already got Rune V (unless your twinked by a uber guild). This robe just plain kicks.
Verant thought ahead about the implications of giving the effect a normal casting time or being regentless (or both). When paired with a manna robe, even if the manna robe is on another caster, you could either "buy" mana (if casting time was normal) or you could feed mana to anyone with a manna robe every 20 seconds (if it is regentless). To remove these limitations would actually nix the usefulness of the wizard epic, which, when coupled with a manna robe, is a great way to harvest mana faster than medding.
Personally I think Verant was just stretching to find an effect on the enchanter robe that wouldnt be unbalancing in may situations (such as a mez), useless (such as an enchanter dot), or just plain a waste (like tash). Id rather have a summon food/water effect on it, but thats just unfair to mages IMO. Even an animation pet that doesnt need tiny daggers would be nice, considering when you want to farm something you dont need to have tiny daggers.
Just my opinion...

Yes this robe does need a peridot to cast the rune IV and the casting time is on the order of 20 seconds so the effect is of little value since you can med enough mana in that time to cast rune V. It's has dropped off sylvan protectors in Plane of Growth, not sure what else. Wonderful stats though and a very pretty robe.
Ok does it not bother anyone else that we have a lvl 44 spell effect on our premier robe in game atm? While almost every other class has a lvl 50+ spell on thier chest item? Heh come on man clerics get a lvl 59 spell on thier BP even if it is uber long cast time. Come on verant where is the balance in that?
What bothers me more is that we have to use a regent to make it work, same regent we use for a much better rune spell. Why waste the same money on a lesser spell.
you do have something there... i think the idea of a rune cast on a robe is a great thing, but using our less efficient rune is a rip off... the level 44 rune costs a lot for the size of the absorbing it does, why not make it the level 52 rune at least so that we dont have to carry two different types of gems and be willing to spend a fortune when we're out of mana
I'm sorry but really though, WTF. I've never heard of an item with an unlimited click charge that has a reagent. Rune IV? This would make us Invincible. I'll have to see it to beleive it, because honestly I don't think Verant would make something this great, and yes it is GREAT. The stats are beleivable, the effect, no it isn't.
"Note: Wizard Epic casts Barrier of Force, a Self-Only ManaRegen + Rune(Roughly 900hp) =PPPPPPP"
ROFL, wizard epic(as well as all epics) are like that because of the process it entails getting. before it was fixed, the wizard epic WAS the hardest in the game, requiring a VERY rare drop off a 7 day spawn mob, which required a 24+ person raid to get to.
My guess is that it DOES need a reagent, BUT u don't need mana so it is still quite powerful and pleasingly so. Please keep in mind that to get this robe u need to be pretty damn high lvl (50+) so it is only fitting for that lvl to have a robe of such stats. This robe listed here drops in the plane of growth. The beguiler's robe which is the exact equivalent in stats and not yet listed is the Thurgadin Quest armour and u still need to be lvl 50+ to get the items needed to complete the quest. Either way it's not like a lvl 1 ton will be wearing this robe so the effect isn't all that powerful after all. Even with rune iv on, the mobs at that lvl take that down in a few hits. Fighting the Epic quest mobs, the rune iv is down in less then one hit in most cases. Well all, enjoy the robe while we have it and it's not nerfed! :-)
I haven't used any gems so far, and thus I have absolutely no idea of the price of a Peridot, can anyone tell me? Also, does the Pegasus Feathered Cloak also need a reagent (batwings perhaps) ?

Respendent items are dropped in the plane of growth, the name of the enchanter items that are results of the Thurgadin quests are Beguiler, ie Beguiler's sleeves, Beguiler's slippers, etc...
Obviously the quest for this robe has been completed.....so why is it that the person who posted this pic of the stats didn't post anything about how they got it? Everyone is searching for answer about where to find the torn silk items and the stones that are needed to complete the quest. And yet there are still no posts....
The Resplendent Robe is a quest item also - from an NPC in the Library in Thurgadin. It requires a Torn Enchanted Silk Robe and three Pristine Emeralds.
The robe is dropped in Kael Drakken (random and rare) and the emeralds can be found in Cobalt Scar off wyverns and other things. I also found a pristine emerald in Wakening Lands.
