Goblin Fanatic's now spawn in the South-West goblin caves. I've only seen them in the furthest south of the 3 caves (where the 2 iksar slaves are).

I got this off a Fanatic while working on faction (4/5/03). Pretty awesome resist item.

Oh yeah he was in that room near the pool.

While tooling down happily to go play with the Chief again, we butchered an amazing amount of Goblins (Still KoS to Sarnak grr) and just before we got to the 'city' this dropped. We were in a hurry, but I don't remember the victim being a Goblin Fanatic. We weren't near the pool either. Heading back down there soon for more Sarnak Faction and fun XP. General HT's in Chief area were 317 to 357 depending on the level of the SK, and with a good enchanter and hi MR (lots of casters down there) we held the entire chief area (clover leaf)with just 47 cleric, 45 Ench, 43 mage, and me 42 war. Most mobs have moderate HP's at best, and top out at 80's for Rok Gus. 14 kills and no Idol yet, but my Trollish self just LOVES that FR for those wizards. Singing Dagger dropped there too, but was told it dropped near the entrance before I got there.

Drops off of the Goblin Fanatic
# Jun 12 2002 at 8:56 AM Rating: Excellent
This item drops off of the Goblin Fanatic who is a rare spawn in the pool room area. If you go there and start clearing for a while, he'll eventually spawn and if you get lucky he'll drop this fun item.
What it drops off of...
# Jun 11 2002 at 3:20 AM Rating: Default
Completely random I'm going to assume.

Was just working on +Brood of DiZok faction (those new Chardok quests have some nice things...) Was just clearing any and everything when I seen this was picked up by the bard... who then dropped it... Hehe, was really happy about it being new ToV resist gear... Until I seen the large races only thing >_<

Ah well... you win some, you lose some...

When the tables were implemented for the correct classes to use the Beastlord armor, they forgot to take into account Iksar ONLY items...

The Helm of Rile and the Stone of Morid were all IKSAR ONLY... when they added beastlords, they added the extra races as well...

Better get one and equip it right away before Verant finds out and patches the thing back to us Iksars... =)

P.S. I'm not telling so don't blame me if it's nerfed back.

Actually, don't worry about it... they've been raping Iksars, and this is probably just another thing they're taking away from just Iksars and giving to everybody.

*** INCOMING ! ! ! *** Possible Rant Detected.
p The reason that they have been "raping Iksar" is because Iksar were unbalanced (Calm down and hear me out) - yes, they start with some penalties (faction and gear mostly), but have great advantages (natural armor, regen ...), which I imagine you know fairly well.
However, at the high end game, most of the race-specific gear for Iksar is far better than the 'other' races gear ... which, added to the natural bonuses inherent in the Iksar already, made them argueably the most powerful race in the game. Take any of the Large races (with the exception of the Vah Shir, who actually seem to have had some thought go into their creation), and what do you get? Well, you start with WORSE faction problems (originally, any of the 3 were only well-recieved at their own guild in their own town - as an ogre shammy, you are KoS to troll shammies in their guild, and so on) ... if you did all of your class-specific quests as a barbarian, you'd end up either KoS at the bank (non-rogue) or KoS everywhere else in Halas (rogues only - but they've got sneak .... a poor excuse). Ogres OR trolls may start off KoS in Neriak, where some of our few quests were done (yes, as an Ogre I was KoS to the OGRES in the Foreign Quarter - but only inside the 'arena' building).

p Thankfully, much of this is changing now. They have begun to make it so that cultural smithing for ogres and trolls isn't a HUGE joke (hey, if I imbue my armor it gets CRAPPIER! horaay), but it's still not on-par with the more "popular" races of Fey (why is it that wood elves seem to be masters of every tradeskill?).
And yes, they're also opening up some of the door in the Iksar-only world to other races.

p Yes, we large "bad" (-ly designed) races can now use your precious Stone of Morid. Yes, we can now obtain the Greenmist of your SKs, and the Cudgels of your Shaman guild, and the monks, and so on ..... but before I could even pretend to get TO the Iksar shaman guild I had to raise my faction with your guards (just you wait).

p To Date I have put 3-5 mules FULL of 8-slot containers (both on them and in inventory) FULL of Bonechips ... Thousands of Sarnaks, Goblins (camped Grachnist for weeks), and outlaw Iksar ... and now my faction is MAXED at Dubious with your Warrior guild, and STILL "scowls" with your SK's, who roam the streets and yards of Cabalis ... and even when I manage to choke your SK guild on the bones of the dead and raise my faction with them ... I'll still need to go from "Scowls" to "ally" with your Shamen. (oh, I'm KoS at the bank too! How nice.)

p I know you have to raise faction with OUR town to do OUR quests, but why in the HELL would you want to? The only thing the Ogre SHM guild gives out is "burst of flame" (1st level spell) and a 1st-tier deity item that takes 7 seconds to cast a 10-second buff (yaulp - wahoo, how useful. self only).

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
p So _YES_ I'm bustin' your doors in and taking your precious loot.
*********** I NEED SOME OF MY OWN. ***********

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . thanks! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
p I welcome any and all INTELLIGENT feedback on this. If you've done your research and have something to say that may enlighten us all, please do so. If you were going to simply insert another "STFU" or "monk only" -WHATEVER-, please post it elsewhere or not at all. Let us be our best. Thanks.

This is probably one of the more under-utilised drops. I just got one and I can't imagine being without it. The fact that it's ranged is insane! If this where not Iksar-only, it would be a ToV drop or some other uber zone. Every Iksar over level 40 should have one of these. Nothing is better for dragon/chardok raids (depending on the dragon, obviously)
