Damage bonus
# Oct 09 2001 at 3:07 PM Rating: Default
First - the damage bonus is really one. 2ndly, wow, 1, on one of the fastest 2hs in the game, the damage bonus is one point. Let me say this, WHOOP, WHOOP, WHOOPITY!!! I wonder how fast the 2hs has to be in order to get a damage bonus that is higher. In my opinion, Verant hates rangers and wants them all to be deleted. Now, please tell me how I should stop whining. I love reading about other people telling rangers that their arguments are onfounded. There were about 30 bards crying about not having their piercing capped at 240, and noone says anything about them. Anyway, I'm done ranting about this ridiculous miscalculation.

Um, the damage bonus on two-handers is not what you think it is. It doesn't reward you for how fast the weapon is. It rewards you for how SLOW the weapon is. Case in point, at level 50, my Silver Swiftblade has a damage bonus of 1. However, looking at a Weighted Axe, I see a damage bonus of 43 (disregard the fact I can't use the weapon, it's just an example). So no, Verant does not hate Rangers, nor do they want anyone to delete them.

Um...

The Damage Bonus scales up as you gain levels. I'm sure that the Damage Bonus for this weapon is higher than 1 at level 60.
Silver Swiftblade
# Aug 20 2001 at 4:54 AM Rating: Excellent
At level 30, my 2HS was rockbottom, but I got a Silver Swiftblade and currently using a FBSS.

One yellow bub into hell level, I'd already gone up 45 pts in 2HS, and at this rate, I'll cap out my 2HS long before I finish level 30 and move on to something like the Swarmcaller.

A great weapon for rangers who want to get their 2HS up in a hurry because of it's low delay, meaning more chances to get that 2HS up than you'd get with just about every other 2HS out there.

Fun weapon and cool looking too. :) I just wonder how fast I'd be with Alacrity stacked along with that FBSS.

And yes, it's a stamina drainer though especially in prolonged fights.

I was runnin throught the WC and saw a new group of Dark Elves in a camp. After killing them off, one of them (a Captain) i believe had this sword on him. Incidentally there WAS a graphic of the sword in his hand. They were all very green at 54.

I doubt it was a swiftblade. It was most likely a leg chopper. By the time someone has a swiftblade, they are hesitant to give it to anyone, either because they were high enough to get it and therefore experienced, or even more so, they were low so they would most likely not want to give it to anyone. I dont think it was the latter because people who are low, especially rangers (it most likely wouldnt be anyone else - why would someone low give it to anyone anyway if they could sell it) and if they were low, they could not get close to the DE's unless they wanted to die.

Therefore, its safe to say that it most likely wasnt the Swiftblade, but the leg chopper or something else that is worthless that was given to the Dark Elf.

Please make fun of me now.

Fastest 2HSer for a ranger
# Jul 06 2001 at 10:05 PM Rating: Default
One thing you guys are forgetting, this sword is the single fastest 2HSer for a ranger in the WHOLE game. Not even Primal weapons are faster. Tag on a haste item and you have some serious slashing going on. It ain't the best weapon for a ranger by far, but it has some dang cool advantages I'd say. Exactly the same delay as a ss yak (only 1 more delay than a dragon horn yak) and twice the damage. This means you'll be doing basically the same damage as you would with this as with 2 yaks. There isn't a proc but that could be a good thing or a bad thing. Bad thing if you're the tank and aren't worried about causing agg. Good thing if you're not tanking and would like to not agg the mob and let the warrior with superior skills keep agg. So if you like the 2hs style but want to still be doing ranger type damage, this is a dam fine sword. Just my 2cp. Btw, have one of these on my 50 ranger and I enjoy using it in KC when I don't want to **** of the mobs with my wurm/yak combo. Still good damage, waaaaay less taunt.

Blackened Alloy ******* Sword... nearly same ratio, much easier and cheaper to acquire, and only weighs 2.5 instead of 10.

I'd take a BABS over this any day of the week for my Ranger. I wouldnt turn one of these away if someone gave it to me, but I wouldnt pay 3K for it when I can get a BABS for 150pp on Erollisi. Plus with a BABS you get that massive save 3 to Poison =)

Just my opinion.

Still don't understand why people consider BABS a "junk" weapon. Tryed selling it and was told several times its a crap weapon. Its got a great raito and worth more than the 500pp that he wanted to give me for it. Just cause a 2hs weapon doesnt proc or add stats doesnt make it crap. sheesh. Low weight good damage. BABS is a great wpn in my book. I have both BABS and silver swiftblade. When i feel like 2hs which i use depends on my mood.

Ha! I agree with you, 100%. I think the BABS has gotten it's hideous reputation based solely on it's (admittedly) stupid looks. I used a BABS for 2HS training in lvl30. By the time I was out of Hell, my 2HS was over 100 and could actually be used in real life/death combat.

You can easily hit for 60-70 with a BABS. And you won't take a Stamina hit with it (at these levels it can be tought to get that STA up over 100). I think it's a fine weapon, but you can't give 'em away these days. Go figure. Perhaps they're just too easy to get.

Stamina Question
# May 28 2001 at 11:41 AM Rating: Decent
I have one of these on a little twink ranger with an fbss and 80 stamina. I just let him run out of stamina. The only thing it effects is he can't run if he gets in trouble, but he kills so fast that he has only had to run once when trained by a greedy group that thought all the gobs in Sol A belonged to them...=P
RE: Stamina Question
# Jun 02 2001 at 12:00 PM Rating: Default
Bah. 100 is the magic number for stamina.. if you're STA is over 100 and you run out you won't get any negative stats, basically all you can't do is jump.

Get yourself some stam gear and fix that 80 :P
Sta vs Dmg
# May 26 2001 at 9:58 PM Rating: Default
I'm a level 35 ranger and I had an opportunity to borrow this wonderful weapon for quite a long time. My sta is 85 and rarely did i have a problem with sta. The only time I did was while in kedge keep underwater because you are constantly swimming. It hits hard and fast, therefore you kill the MoB quickly to not bother your sta. At level 30 you get invigor which you can cast when needed. Therefore, no problem with the weight. I dual wield 2 yaks now because I had to give back the Swiftblade. I miss the Swiftblade totally. The best weapon I ever wielded.

stamina
# May 08 2001 at 10:32 AM Rating: Default
i have one on saryrn and yes, it does sap your stamina. i have 75 unmodified sta, and lose tons of stamina whilst throwing this beast of a weapon around - just make sure you get a SOB or better before battle and you're ok.

BTW, this looks amazing - the runic etching along the side is just awesome....all you rangers out there, i urge you to practice your 2hs in case you get the chance to own one!!

What drops it...
# Apr 14 2001 at 10:53 AM Rating: Default
I've seen this sword drop twice near the exit to Chardok. The sword wasn't weilded by the mob either time. Appears to be a random drop off Sarnaks in there.
wow
# Apr 13 2001 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
wow the only problem with this weapon is the weight. especially with a FBSS or other Haste item swinging a 10wt weapon at a 20 delay (or so, dont know the way to calc haste) is going to kill stamina. unless you have a 105 stamina, or so the theory goes...and the 3 ranger races dont have a great stamina skill. guess i should start pumping my stamina up :)

ok does this just drop off and random mob? what level mobs? it says 47 to get it but are all the mob 47? like in the lake of ill the sarnaks that drop weapons are some times lower or higher level, oh well some info would be nice thx.

Me'z got one of these... You don't stop swinging once during the fight if you're hasted a bit... Also looks so kewl when you proc your Call of Sky while it's swinging, since it looks like the big blue arc is coming off the blade... <guess it would look like that with all 2h's (^_^)>
