while camping SF, this nice black cat came walking by. It was green to me at lvl 54 and had about twice the hitpoints of the other cats. It never hit for more the 49. Only dropped the bone.

Also came right up to me and asked to be killed at the Stormfeather camp. He must path there eventually.

he replaced one of the static cat spawns near SF camp today.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 04 2002 at 6:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) While i was camping other things i just kept checking track to see whats up, i noticed he just spawned and went to kill him. he was light blue to lvl 55. he casts a 150dd thats frost strike i think. hes slows and dots. he hits almost to 100s and i needed full hp mana to kill him. he dropped pelt first time i killed him and a spell. Pelt seemed good cause the stats. i killed him 2 more times while doing stuff there and he only dropped a peircer and spells. good item for my lvl 32 druid. This item goes 700-1k on Fennin Ro.

When velious first came out this was worth 11k and people paid that much for it. Now it's worth 1k and you're wondering why people ever even paid 11k? BECAUSE IT WAS GOOD BACK THEN! This is before people discovered the armor quests, this was when people were still in ravenscale/darkforge/guk gear .etc

There were only a few +5 wisdom items out there for a weapon, and this was +7, so it was worth more!
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 21 2003 at 7:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTF does that have to do with anything?
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 03 2002 at 11:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To everyone who has spent more than 500pp on this item: you wasted your money. My lvl 50 druid had one of these things until I decided to get something that had a chance of hitting a creature for more than 10 and more often that once every fifteen seconds. I know druids aren't supposed to melee, but why have a a wepaon with a proc if you aren't going to. and how many druids have a high enough dex for this to proc often enough to be worth it? 7 wisdom is nice, but to pay 1k for this is insane! And then I read further down to the morons that are saying it is worth 10k! Have none of you never seen ANY other items in this game? On the Karana server, when I wanted to get rid of this item in a moment of true clarity, I put it up in the bazaar for 500pp and it took me over a week to sell it for that price, leaving my computer on all night every night. This item drops off a lvl 38 mob! Like it should sell for 10k!

Hey, did you happen to notice that those posts are from 2001?

Notice that they also refer to a springwood club being 2k-3k. Now those are 100pp.

Back when those posts were made, This was a VERY nice weapon. So it only sells for 500 or so now, doesn't mean they wasted their money. Keep in mind, back when it first came out, the Wurmslayer was worth something like 6-10kpp. now it sells for 800.

Prices change. Look at the dates before you flame these posts.

Also, on your comments about druids meleeing, note that this IS NOT druid only. A 25 point lifetap might be really nice for a shaman who is low hp from canni, and 7 wis would be nice for them too. Plus, yes, with shaman buffs, he'd probably have enough dex for this to proc frequently.
RE: 6k for this piece of crap?
# Jan 12 2003 at 6:15 PM Rating: Default
first it does not drop off of a mob, it is a quest and second not everyone is in a Uber guild or Ebay's items and plat. I would give 500 - 1000 plat for one of these for my cleric. He dosen't need to melee and could use the wis.
good club
# Mar 17 2002 at 4:20 PM Rating: Excellent
i don't know if this is just me, but this is a great club for beastlords, good wis, ok ratio, and the proc is nice too. I know that most beastlords play cleric to there pets, but in a group, this would be a good reason to melee along with your pet.
RE: good club
# Sep 01 2002 at 10:45 PM Rating: Decent
who said beastlord play cleric to their pet? fight too. stand back to heal as needed sure, but any good beast will fight too with his pet. smack him if he's not.
RE: good club
# Jul 22 2002 at 3:14 PM Rating: Good
The ratio blows, the proc is weak. 7wis rocks.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 22 2002 at 5:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) First off, beastlords can't use it, and second: 5/25 is a horrible ratio.

Is it really worth it? Sure + 7 wis is nice but your never gonna melee with it and a 25 life drain wont compensate for the 90+ hps damage that frost giant just did even if it procs every round. So personally I'd go for paw of oppola while you kite and then use my 7/22 mace for killing the runners.

Im killing stuff in iceclad anyway so ill keep an eye out for the mobs its sill more wis than the +3 mace but its not gonna be something I camp. Time better spend than this I feel.
RE: Looks nice, but then again.
# May 18 2002 at 5:02 AM Rating: Decent
Whether or not this is worth anything depends on your class. As a druid, I can't get into melee in the 30's. To do so means instant death, as druids at this level have the worst AC out there. So the higher wis would be better than the higher damage of anything else.
RE: Looks nice, but then again.
# Dec 01 2002 at 11:51 AM Rating: Decent
If you are a soloing (or even one who likes to group)druid and not doing some meleeing in you 30's you are missing out on raising your defence, and as you can snare, fear kite animals, and heal yourself it is well worth doing. So that when you hit your 50's and something hits you Your defence is not so poor that every spell gets interupted (and do you want to waste that casting of starfire for some stupid green that couldnt normally harm you either?).
Remember channeling helps you cast in battle but defence stops you getting hit and every little helps.

RE: What level?
# Jan 13 2003 at 10:32 PM Rating: Good
It procs for me at level 37. I traded one for a Rallic Pack. When I compared prices to see if I was getting a decent deal, the club was selling for 2-2.5K and a Rallic Pack normally sells for 1-1.5k so I think I got a good deal. The +7 wis is great, as is the +7 int when I'm practicing tradeskills. And yes, when I'm fear kiting mobs in Stonebrunt, this thing is great. Don't knock fear kiting as a druid, it's fast, little mana, little damage, and builds defence skills.

A friend and I killed him after he killed me twice and knocked me back down to lvl 39. After it was all said and done, he dropped a spell I'll never use and a dagger that was sold for 800pp... I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it...

lvl 40 Druid
4 hour camp
# Aug 29 2001 at 9:06 AM Rating: Good
I just got this club yesterday, not too bad of a camp really. The first thing I did was sit near the top of the hill on the island with the Gnome Pirates until Midnight spawned, took the bone (no earring on him). Went over and sat near the hut of Belix Misteyes and waited. There was a group of mid 30s melee types beating on the cougars there which may or may not have contributed to Garou popping. After about 4 hours of waiting and refreshing my buffs (SoW, skin, chloro, resist fire, cold, poison, and disease, endure magic) Garou popped in the forest area between the hut and the ToFS.

Opened with a snare, Calefaction, root, Drifting Death, back off med, ready to hit him with Fury of air in case he cast. Nuke again when root wore off, re-root, re-dot, etc. He cast Drowsy allot (all resisted with MR at 68), Tainted Breath (I think that was it, he only tried one dot), resisted, the Shaman frost DD which landed for 54 points. Took 1 full bar of mana at level 45 with 173 widson (swapped out my CGS for the crystalline eye for the bonus on the resists). Dropped the skin (looked like a cap in inventory) and the 39th shaman group strength spell. He had quite allot of health (I figure about 4000 hps) but the snare hit the first time so I just kited him, and with solid resists he only hit me the one time for 54 points of damage.

He's a random spawn. I've heard the old "kill everything and he'll spawn" trick for tons of mobs, yet never seen it actually work. Save yourself some time and just pop into Iceclad once in a while to check. Sooner or later you'll run into him. The 42 version drops the skin more often than the weaker version.
I've seen this sell for 4-7k on 7th Hammer, most likely due to it's rarity since I personally think a dark ember is better.
Re: No dire wolves on ToFS island
# Jul 23 2001 at 11:59 AM Rating: Default
I can't speak for other servers but on Bristlebane there are no dire wolves on ToFS island. I have spent numerous about 15 levels hunting cougars and shadowed guardians there with 3 different characters and have only heard of Garou being up twice. So, my question is on Bristlebane, or any server that has no dire wolves on the island, how does Garou spawn.
RE: Re: No dire wolves on ToFS island

There is no PH. He spawns every 18 hours like clockwork. I have killed him many many times and have never killed a dire wolf in my life. We kill him, check our watches, then go back 18 hours later and "POP". Trust me =)

Huh? I thought all servers are exactly the same with regards to creatures and quests and loot, with the only differences being player-related things like characters and economy and guilds and PvP.

I just scored one of these for 2.5k and i haggled that down from 3k. It was steep for me since i just baught Ro's Firey SUndering and only had 3k left in the bank. I now have only 260pp to my name!

Anyways, i got a question: For a druid who's still in need of wis, is a heirophant's crook better than this thing?

RE: PC

Whoa there.. its worth maybe 2x what he paid.. not 10x that. 10 X 2.5K = 25K. Yeah.. that's how much Fungi Tunics go for on some servers, so don't you dare say this thing is even compareable to a Fungi in price. It's worth maybe 5K.. MAYBE.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 21 2003 at 7:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) First, he didnt compare fungi tunic to this club, so shut up. And second 25k is about half the price of fungi on most servers
Dropped Spell?
# Jun 09 2001 at 10:46 AM Rating: Default
I killed him with a friend yesterday... he didn't drop the pelt, just a 39 druid spell (which my friend won in the roll) and the piercing (which I won). We can't find any mention of the spell. But another druid gave me a 52 and 53 druid spell for the piercer... is there something I missed?
