Debating
# Aug 15 2003 at 11:21 PM Rating: Decent
I have a Chanty that is currently using an "Iceshaper's Staff" (8dmg 24dly, few minor modifiers, not quite sure what though). I have someone willing to sell me one of these NWS's for 400pp, which I can afford, plus I'd get something for this old staff. I only have about 900pp right now, but the rest of my equip is pretty good, should I drop 400pp for this staff or wait till I find something better?
RE: Debating

get the stein of moggok instead... way cheaper and ALOT more int...
Good for Necro's
# Jun 06 2003 at 10:00 AM Rating: Decent
I just picked one up in the Bazaar for 300pp. (Rathe Server).
It is an excellent weapon for my Necro to use when the mana runs out or the pet goes down. With the low delay I can get a decent number of hits in. A damage of 8 is nothing to sneeze at for an OOM caster, and the bonus to STR is very welcome. The +2 to INT and WIS is nice since I'm going to be "hot-swapping" this with my Stein when I start getting pounded.
This is a decent 1HB for the pure caster.
OK but not WOW !!
# Apr 23 2003 at 1:29 PM Rating: Default
When the Bazaar opened on Innoruuk Server these could be had all day long for 2 to 300p. Then they moved to around 5 to 700p which I'd say is the max value. They do have a good delay but the Dmg is a little low.
The classes that use 1hb for the most part don't really want agro which would be the reason for "FAST" weapons. Along with the minor stats on it, "2's", these should not be worth as much as some peeps have been placing them, Like 2K !!
The stats r not calling for that nor is the Dmg.
High End Players who want the speed based on "Bonus" Dmg have a lot more weapons to chose from with LOTS better stats.
People trying to sell these for 2k are just showing stupidity.

not a bad deal
# Mar 25 2003 at 6:32 PM Rating: Decent
Not a bad weapon, only 1 damage less than a lammy. The stats aren't so great but for a priest/druid it is at least useful for training.
Awesome Weapon

I bought one of these today in the Bazaar for my lvl 20 monk for 800pp. Rather nice substatute till I can get a Jade Mace.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 21 2002 at 2:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) strikes me as a little heavy for a 20 monk, but if all your other gear is light, then i suppose it works.

That is so not true. I have seen things that go for 50pp in the bazaar sell for over 1k from a vendor. The truth is you just can't tell.

But in the case of this item, it is one that will sell REALLY cheap from a vendor if someone has been dumb enough to sell it to the vendor. Was floored that I saw one for sale in the Temple of Solusek Ro a long time ago. Put on all my CHA gear and got it from the little gnome wizzie (and only) vendor for 27pp. That was a very happy EQ day.
RE: for sale
# Jun 21 2002 at 9:42 PM Rating: Decent
That doesn't make sense to prove your point, 7 cha bracelet costs about 11pp to make, sell for about 25pp on market
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 26 2002 at 9:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I would like to know how much this staff would go for on Soluesk Ro. If you have one I would like to buy it from you. Give me a tell ingame as Cozaic or E-Mail me at Street Homie 69@aol.com or at Cmaasbud@msn.com.

not common
# Aug 10 2001 at 9:35 AM Rating: Decent
Unfortunately, the Noble's staff is NOT common, at least not anymore. We spent the best part of a 7h raid killing every giant near the bank, yesterday ( basically we worke on faction ), about 16 lesser noble giants among them.
No staff dropped at all. Seems they have become much more rare these days.

Sweet Weapon
# Jul 26 2001 at 7:49 AM Rating: Default
I picked this up on a sweet deal a couple of nights ago for 100pp, and the person thought that I was getting ripped off!!! At the time I had no idea of it's value, and I said ok, because It's dmg/delay ratio whoops my wraithbone hammer's *** anyday, so I took it, very nice.

You do have duel weild right? Either melle only applies if your class/level allows it.

That is simply not true. I have one on my Beastlord. He is fully able to dual-wield weapons. I checked today and it is PRIMARY only.
Anyone know a price??

Haste
# Apr 18 2001 at 1:02 PM Rating: Default
Found info that this weapon has a unlisted +20% haste. Time it boys & girls its way faster thatn 1.9 secs. I timed it out at 1.4/1.5 on a stop watch. Put in on my monk w/ his natural quickness I was close to 1 sec. It's 8 base damage makes it more than useful than trance stick (off hand now). 4.0 wt is not a factor, you kill too quickly ). Make wu's 13 delay & open you belt slot fora str/sta item ).
RE: Haste
# Apr 24 2001 at 9:02 AM Rating: Decent
Even if this item had an unlisted 20% haste effect, saying that your monks natural haste makes the damage delay ratio better is just wrong. Monk haste only affects the dam/del ratio of your fists, not weapons. Unless you have parsed the numbers, not to many people will be inclined to believe you.

RE: Haste
# Apr 27 2001 at 6:42 AM Rating: Default
Play a monk sometime, monk natural haste applies to whatever they use... the damage/delay on their fists change at certain intervals as well however =P
RE: Haste
# May 03 2001 at 10:45 AM Rating: Default
crack smoker! monks don't get 'natural haste' they just get really high skill in dual weild and double attack which could be called haste if you wanted to call it that but it really isn't...

cool item but with the new item info if it had a haste wouldn't it just say haste in the description?
Priest Melee
# Apr 04 2001 at 6:12 AM Rating: Default
Sure Wolfform is a great attack boost. But lets not forget that Shaman's are usually large races and easily have double the STR of a druid unbuffed. Shaman's can easily hit 200str and that adds up to alot more than 60 attack.

Druid's melee damage is mostly from thorns.
Shaman's are better at meleeing because of the higher STR & AC, haste spells, slow/stat debuffs.

Plus, on average, Shaman weapons are more damaging than Druid weapons.

As for poor Cleric's melee abilities? Somebody should give them bash skill, because they sure aren't doing much damage +20. They don't have 1 single useful melee buff. Yaulps are great for Paladins, but Clerics, not being hybrids, must wait like 4 seconds after Yaulping to swing the weapon, so you are just missing out on 1 swing to help the chances of the next 3 hitting - not worth it.
RE: Priest Melee
# Mar 25 2003 at 1:23 AM Rating: Decent
High level yaulp is useful for other things.. Like Mana Regen.

Ashburn
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 13 2001 at 11:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) At first glance, it certainly appears to have great stats, except that its for pure casters and healers - and the only true melee that can use it are monks. Its very quick - it has a great ratio, even better than a fighting baton but I'd never give it to my lvl 14 monk cause its too damn heavy. And the other classes that can use this item can easily find something more suitable to their abilities.
weight...
# Jan 16 2001 at 9:39 PM Rating: Decent
The fact that this item weights 4 stone is very unfortunate, or we would have just found an EXCELLENT upgrade for the ugly batons. The speed and added stats on these for monks would really be great.

Oh... and before you wanna tell me a Monk has no use for Wis and Int... think. Try doing a trade skill when you put all your stat points from day one into strength! Even us monk's aren't ALLWAYS out beating butt. Sometimes we sit in town and TRY to make Wu's gauntlets or cured silk... and wish we had a bit of a buff on our brains.

Peace...

One of the best Druid melee weps
# Dec 14 2000 at 12:13 PM Rating: Good
Think about it... 8 damage, around 18 points with a delay of 19.. my level 19 rogue's dagger doesn't have a delay / dmg ratio good to that... (6, 23) But the effect of Bloodclaw makes up for it...

Anyways, grats guys. This is also a nice Monk twinky item if you can get two = )

Just noticed this was also for pure casters... expect this staff to go for a lot...
HEY I MELEE!!!!

but to calrify I melee after the tanks have woppped on those mobs for sometime and its a big darn guild raid then i can come in a dink dink dink wooohoo 26 pts (Dark Ember) ...or like last night .. DAMN $@#%$# Sebilite juggernaught resisted my BURN proc!!!! ARRRGGHH :) heheheh
Heh anyway my 89 1hb skill (83 2hb) (127 1hs) skill proves I almost never melee and i got 3 of the 1hb last night heheh

hehehe you better check out the scimitar of the emerald dawn dmg20 del 34 with lots of + stats and 100mana 1 hand slash much much much better than this wimpy stick.that is of course you are the melee style druid.

RE: One of the best Druid melee weps

I must say that the druid's melee skills is what sets them apart from wizards and such...while they can nuke and heal it is useful to throw on a damage shield when your low on mana and let a crit kill itself on your shield
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 30 2000 at 11:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) um im a druid and i meleed till lvl 34.... killing OOT dorfs... i still melee in groups when im FM and im the nuker
RE: NO DRUID WOULD MELEE PAST 20 WTF R U TALKING ABOUT
# Mar 27 2001 at 5:06 PM Rating: Decent
I have a 39 druid, and when I go oom, I go in and start beating down my target. I have over 145 1hb, so I am pretty effective, and I'd like to use this thing for my melee technique. =)
RE: NO DRUID WOULD MELEE PAST 20 WTF R U TALKING ABOUT
# May 30 2001 at 8:35 AM Rating: Default
39th druid here and fear kiting often enough. Using melee saves a lot of mana, which means less downtime... Also, its quite usefull to batter down everything small and pesky without wasting mana to blast it.... 1 HB at 151 and 1 H slash at 144.... And who can afford a Jade Mace of Iksar Berzerker club without being twinked ? right !

RE: NO DRUID WOULD MELEE PAST 20 WTF R U TALKING ABOUT
# Aug 28 2001 at 1:24 AM Rating: Good
I melee and I'm 53rd level :P But that's only because 1) I farm greens for tailoring and 2) I have a heirophant's crook. So in a raid on KD tonight I was whacking away at giants with the crook in between nukes, and since it procs 246 damage, sure I melee.

But if I didn't have the crook - I'd use this staff I got tonight (the noble's stick) to whack greenies only. If something is in flee mode and is snared then it's faster to sit and med for a final nuke etc.
RE: One of the best Druid melee weps
# Dec 20 2000 at 3:06 PM Rating: Decent
Only a foolish druid doesn't keep up his/her melee skills maximized.
The WIS on the staff is lame. I will stick with swapping items when it comes time to melee.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 15 2000 at 9:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you obviously never ever pvped with your druid
RE: One of the best Druid melee weps
# Dec 14 2000 at 1:56 PM Rating: Default
This weapon wouldn't be good for a Monk. Look at the weight.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 15 2000 at 7:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey REMEMBER Shamans and Clerics can usually tank a bit better then you frail treehuggers (no offense to all of you just ones like him) Clerics and Us Shammys Use wis also, Shammys more then Clerics have a rarity of good fast weps to work up skill. This weps gives a lil wis back while giving an Awesome rate at which to work skill also.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 30 2000 at 11:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) druids melee better than clerics/shamans because of wolf form.. boosts ATK by alot
RE: What about Shaman and maybe Clerics you Kiting bag
# Aug 09 2001 at 10:05 PM Rating: Default
are you smoking crack man? druids mellee better than shammies??? LOL, i am a 37 shaman and i have hit for a maxe of 76, hasted. i have gotten 224 str before too, w/ my own buffs/armor, druids suck large portions of *** at mellee, shaman are great, i have also out melleed a pally 1 lvl higher than me :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 01 2001 at 10:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) lol...i can't believe some people are this stupid...Shamans melee better than druids due to their own line of buff/debuffs that far outperform a druids 'wolf form'...*laughs*
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 01 2001 at 3:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) lol, wolf form is like +30 ATK.. If it was +200 ATK everyone would say druids are the best.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 27 2001 at 7:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If your going to put down druids spells get it right... Form of the Greater Wolf (Lvl 44) is +61 +1/per lvl atk.... thats right... i agree that a Shammy can still melee better than I but dont talk unless you know what it is your talking about.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 01 2001 at 10:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No, if it were +200 atk then everyone would say rangers are the best, since they share part of the spell line with druids.
