We could use a pic of this with the modern UI.

We're interested in someone's parses/retelling of how the item functions today (low to high levels).

How often are people seeing it on "Marcia Attamilgad [Rare Items] - 65 Nobles" ?

Some history from deep in the thread, courtesy of Saania:

It used to drop from Boogoog in Frontier Mountains, which was on the Named cycle you could easily farm there. Very funny, I took part in one of them ; I was DREAMING about the Sleeves of the Ancients for my bard, those sleeves dropped in that cycle too and I suppose they still do hehe. I got the sleeves but I think our group got like 2 Twigs :) Was saying to myself : "what is that crap lol". That "crap" sold for thousands of pp when people discovered how powerful the weapon was in first hand. There even has been a /GU comics about that twig, I clearly remember :)

Of course Verant had to react : twig no longer dropped, having been replaced by some lousy item, and existing Twigs have been nerfed to secondary slot only.
Nowadays it has become a collection object, selling for a lot of money among the rare item maniacs, just like the Rubicite stuff or Mana Stone (which still has a limited usefulness though.)
3/10 Weapons

The other 3/10 weapon is called "Efreeti Standard".
I have one of these for sale on Brell Serilis (Cazic Thule).
Parse info...

Running some very fast parses with a drum mainhand (no attacks) and a 3/10 offhand...

A weapon CAN definitely go below 9 (or 10) delay.

Remember that offhand weapons are based on dual wield and may not always hit, also note that I have a reasonable amount of double attack, thus 0% haste is not necessarily 1 hit per second. These parses represent approximately 5 minutes pet haste level, not enough to see solid numbers, but certainly enough to notice an obvious trend.

0% haste - 1.4 hits per second
30% haste - 1.81h/s (27% increase)
36% haste - 1.84h/s (29% increase)
66% haste - 2.28h/s (63% increase)
81%haste - 2.6h/s (85% increase)
100% haste - 2.77h/s (98% increase)
130% (overhaste) - 3.1 h/s (123% increase)

Also, I later attempted to parse offhand proc rates with and without haste. Needless to say, many minutes later and hardly seeing a single proc, I realized that offhand proc-rates truly are dismal.

So, to dispel any myths that have been mentioned here.

Haste has no diminishing return above a certain value.
There is no minimum delay for a weapon
Adding a proc to this weapon in offhand is not going to make it a magical powerhouse
Offhand and Primary weapons (with dual wield skill) are COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT. Whether you have a 5/10 in your primary or a 5/50 in your primary, your offhand will attack at the same rate. (verfied for bards, it may be possible for this to be true for other classes, but I'm not going to make assertions without proof)

to those that wouldnt use this item because of its "silly" dmg... a monk (forget name) won the best of the best competition using it. I only wish it still dropped and was primary slot

sadly it dose not drop, BUT! it is still tradeable, and their is a 1hb that i saw in the baz last night (cant think of the name off the top of my head) was going for about 800,00 needless to say, ITS MINE! (also it is primary) so now with a 10/3 in your primary and a 10/3 in your secondary a 36% haste aug or what ever haste you can find (dosent really make a big diffrence IIRC haste maxes out at 9 delay but its always nice just incase hehe) and 2 DoN aug's that are 175ish -250ish proc's for primary and secondary, (note im refering to DD proc's hp taps and heals would work two, but i like to see the dmage)

so what your left with to all the noobs who dont know squat about squat,

you have esseinatly a 9/18 with a 175 hp dd for your primary, a 9/18 with a 250 hp dd proc for your secondary

yes 18 damage isnt as good as some of the wep's that are out their, BUT! if your hitting for 20 damage 50 times in a minute vs 200 dmg 8 times. bigger isnt alwas better (not to mention agroing ablitys of the amazeing speed)

NO i dont know how to spell or punctuate. no need to point it out :)

I just saw this linked and the classes are as follows: War, Rng, Mnk, Bst. Hence Pallies and Sks don't get to wield this because it's a secondary slot only.

Yep , he is a dude i know IRL, he did use that and he did win. His toons name was Kold Furyfists i think , Jason irl. He said it was like a machine gun, something about it being in the primary hand made a strange effect in the game mechanics or some **** like that

Hmm, just a thought:

10 delay + anger 3 aug?

Seems like that would make it a pretty awesome offhand.

Procs isn't dependant on the delay of your weapon, but is on a timer for itself.

As you're listed Guru and the person tacitly agreeing with you in reply is listed Sage I'm guessing you know what you're talking about, but I'm amazed that weapon procs aren't based on weapon delay. That changes dramitically how I look at some things (like my current toy, 28 delay bow with 120 dd proc). I was so ripped about finding a low delay weapon with a proc, putting a proccing aug in it, then casting add proc self buff, THEN having chanter Boon of the Garou me, SO PROCILISCIOUS!!! However if what you say is true, it would destroy my beautiful dream........ (/sigh) que sera, sera

(PS - if you cant tell I'm a slightly spastic ranger)

Regardless, a fast weapon creates aggro, through the number of hits. Anger three is a good aggro proc. therefore, this weapon, with anger 3 aug, would be a good aggro combo.

This stick is awesome, it doesnt matter if its in your secondary or not a monk is still going to hit realy fast. i remember back in the day back before it was nerfed, i saw this lv 60 monk his so fast, thats all i saw was his dmg lol
umm...
# Sep 27 2003 at 5:30 AM Rating: Default
lol i would never use this, maybe just to get 1hb up, but that's it
RE: umm...
# Feb 02 2004 at 11:10 AM Rating: Decent
You get a damage bonus depending on your level... you have forgotten that? For a high char the resulting damage with that ratio is awesome => good for aggro, too.
Dual Wield

This would be VERY nice for practicing dual wield... and other offensive skills. Double attack, offense ITSELF, 1hb...
100k on Tunare
# Jul 18 2003 at 11:48 AM Rating: Excellent
Saw one for sale last night on the Tunare Server for 100k. I can only imagine what it would be like for my monk to use this, throw in a haste and watch the spam flow...
RE: 100k on Tunare
# Jul 18 2003 at 2:33 PM Rating: Default
haste wont work for this the lowest you can get the delay of your weap even with haste is 10
RE: 100k on Tunare
# Dec 16 2003 at 4:18 PM Rating: Decent
Actually delay can go to 9.
Reason it was nerfed:
# Mar 27 2003 at 11:46 AM Rating: Default
The reasont this was nerfed to secondary only is because regardless of the speed of the weapon in secondary slot, it's gonna hit after about ever 4 hits of your primary weapon regardless of the speed of the secondary slot weapon. Basically people were putting this in their primary and then putting really slow, really high damage 1h weapons into their primary. This thing was so fast that they would hit with the big damage weapon tons. It was so abusable that verant made it secondary only so you couldn't do this anymore.
RE: Reason it was nerfed:
# Mar 30 2003 at 6:58 AM Rating: Good
Actually...
The delay in primary and secondary hand are completely independent. The reason this weapon was so insane in the primary hand was as a poster below has said: the higher level primary hand damage bonus. The lower the weapon delay, the more hits you get, the more times you get the damage bonus. So to make the weapon less deadly (and unbalencing) they made it secondary only. It's still a good weapon for getting your 1h blunt up, I would think, so long as you're a dual weilder, and aren't counting on tremendous amounts of damage from your off-hand.

I believe what crystal was referring to was the duel wield skill. With it you will have a chance to hit with your secondary with each hit of your primary. If your primary is very fast, then you will hit more often with the secondary.

# Jul 10 2008 at 3:15 AM Rating: Default
Wow, right, and that's what he addressed.
dual wielded weapons each have their delay counted independently, they are not tied. Do you have a problem reading?
