How much are these on average? I quit EQ about 5 months ago and am restarting with nothing, so this is pretty nice looking and decent stats and hopefully cheap for a newb. Thanks for any info.
Skin code
# May 28 2002 at 2:52 PM Rating: Default
I've heard that there is a code that turns on the velious skins, something like /show skins true. Not the one you turn on in the INI file but one you do in game, once done you zone, then you will see the true textures of the tizmac/ ulthork, rygorr, gnome skin and other Velious armors. Still looking for it but the textureless black look on some armors is not what they are realy supposed to look like, VI just didnt give out the code for it. Some people have it and I mean to find it.

The code is /dopropertinting on, but it only brings texture to the "voided black" armors and some tinting to objects in the game. It does not do anything to the other Velious armors like tizmac and rygorr. So we Druids are still stuck looking like newbies till we get this Gnome Skin, Nathsar or other high lvl gear. Bitter!

Since I am a ShadowKnight championing the cause of the unspeakable 'B', Lord of Decay I see NO REASON why I should not be able to wear my mother's skin as armor if it suits my purpose. I mean really... I AM evil after all.

I for one enjoy the way a full gnome skin suit looks on women in this game! After seeing nothing but HUGE KNOCKERS held by Dental Floss, I like the tease of a very high neckline. MMmmmm.

In Particular, Ms. Pet, Ms. Aree, and Carelanla!

Hmmmm....talking about video game character boobs and fashion.

Where is that damn girlfriend of mine??

Bought this from the druid ring vendor in WC for a staggering 4gp... Too bad I can't afford the pants to complete the look. Great for my "druid incognito" set of gear.

If you want your druid to "look cool", get a full suit of Crystal Chitin armor and be done with it. Get a square helm, and hammerfal bracer, tada full shiny silver plate on druid. Looks sweet.

Folks - the stuff was at one point NO RENT (or at least some of the pieces were). It was a bug, and it was fixed several patches ago.

Was there last night, on the 3rd floor. Gnome skin drops like candy if you set up camp in the kitchen and pull the rest of the floor. Saw most of the pieces drop in about an hour. The drop rate has to be close to 50% off the dogs. The spawn time in the kitchen FELT like about 15 minutes or so but I didn't actually time it.

In that hour, we saw the keyholder (Enraged Shadow Beast) once.

I got a Pair of Gnome Skin Arms last night in ToFS they were Lore No Drop and NI RENT = ( AC 5 STR 2 AGI 1 Sv POisen 5 I believe. Not sure why they are no rent just doesn't make sense. No drop sure thats understandable but No Rent Geesh. I hope that changes as my monk needs these to have a full suit.*GRUMBLE> No rent ......
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 03 2001 at 11:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The gnome skin arms are extremely rare. People on the tribunal will pay about 12k for them so don't just expect them to drop right away. I looted the tunic and legs off the undead gnoll on the first floor that drops the key.
RE: the arms
# Jun 04 2001 at 4:08 AM Rating: Default
It is my understanding that there is no such thing as gnome skin arms. I may be wrong about this but I have been searching and asking for them for almost 3 months now and none to be found anywhere.
RE: the arms
# Mar 04 2002 at 11:43 PM Rating: Decent
There are arms. It's all I have, got them on the 1st floor. I'm going back for more to be the black druid for when I port people around for plat.
RE: the arms
# Mar 04 2002 at 11:42 PM Rating: Decent
Isn't NO DROP, Isn't NO RENT. And yes.. there are arms. All I have is the arms, but I'm going back for more because I love the look. Will be great when TPing people around, having them constantly ask (you're a druid?).. hehe

I did see the arms drop last night, some reason they were no drop and no rent. I thought that was strange since the rest of the armer isnt no drop, and for no rent... i wonder where i can get the stuff the guy was smokin when he made the stats.

The gnome skin is black
# May 07 2001 at 8:48 AM Rating: Default
Because it's been treated with very good leather treatments. It got all the dirty gnome out, and left behind the skin. Good on sandwiches.
Gnome "skin"?
# Apr 29 2001 at 1:45 AM Rating: Default
If this stuff's made outta the skin of gnomes (as the name would lead you to believe), why isn't a living gnome's skin this black color? :)
Rogues
# Apr 25 2001 at 6:37 PM Rating: Default
This armor looks very cool on rogues.I just got tunic, legs, and boots and already many ppl have tried to buy them, with no success. These make rogues look VERY stealthy and cool.If only verant would put out some pitch black equip with dex and agi or something of that sort for rogues.

actually Mrylokar's armor is probably the best looking armors..(also note one of the hardest to attain, as well as rogue only), and it looks like dark charchole plate..very very impressive looking. =)

Right on Pix, I just started a wood elf rogue. I twinked him with some ravenscale and filled in the empty pieces with blackened armor. To my horror it looks as if I am wearing a wetsuit because ravenscale and blackened are just black textured versions of what leather wood-elf looks like. Oh well, I changed my name to surferbob =P

how much should one expect to pay for such items
RE: pricing
# Apr 05 2001 at 1:43 PM Rating: Default
Seems like this stuff is starting to devalue big time. Someone sold a tunic on the T-P server last night for 30pp. Yes, this is an aberration, but I can say with some certainty that this item isn't worth nearly the 100+pp it used to be.

Druids: Stick with a BCP or MR Tunic for the chest slot. What good is a SV Poison boost if you're kiting a spider and won't take more than a few hits? If you're poisoned after the fight, cure it. Problem, solution. In a group, just have one of the healers keep cure/counteract/abolish poison mem'd. Problem, solution. :)

Yes, gnomeskin armor looks uniquely cool, but so does wicker. Vanity, schmanity. Then again, with all the twinking going on these days, my almost-full suit of visible leather looks pretty unique too. And if I'm really starved for attention, I'll go into treeform. :)

Paid 400pp last night for tunic, legs, 2 bracers, gloves and mask. Did get sucked into paying for the look instead of getting better armor but I hate looking like every other Druid out there - besides, at 20th lvl I'll be doing less and less melee anyways so the ac wasn't the biggest concern I had. Just need boots now and guess I have to get bone armplates since it doesn't look like there are gnome skin arms.

I was offered 100p intially when I said I was in a hurry and didnt have time to stop the interested party doubled to offer to 200pp, they said they usually go for 100. LOL I still didnt have time to stop ;-) Riverwind, Mithaniel Marr

RE: pricing
# Mar 04 2001 at 12:11 PM Rating: Default
The look on this armor is very cool. Typically stuff like this has a huge novelty markup for a while, then it goes down in price rapidly.

This stuff is good for rounding out PR for Trak raids, and so will definitely keep some value I think, but the AC isn't that great and there is no MR on any of the pieces. Also, while IMO not a common drop, it isn't rare either.
what floor lvl?

What about the arms....
# Dec 24 2000 at 4:45 PM Rating: Decent
Ok everyone...
Where do the arms drop? I have yet to see any websites saying anything about the arms. I saw someone with arms and i was too busy trying to buy them off the person to find out what floor it drops on. I camped the first floor for 10 hours and didnt find a single "arm" piece
*sighs*
my friends camped the third floor. no arm pieces.
i wish i could have asked that druid about them when i saw her. oh well. maybe someone will see this and read it.

so far i've gotten 3 sets of arms on the first floor... 2 gloves 2 boots 1 belt 4 bracers....and the odd shadowbone items... no tunic or leggs as of yet.... just kept killing the shadow beasts over and over...
RE: What about the arms....

I haven't seen any arms either, and have asked all over the place, including auctioning in East Commons and shouting while in the tower on numerous occasions.
Basically...
# Dec 20 2000 at 1:52 AM Rating: Decent
This stuff is Splitpaw armor. +wis on the gloves, middlin' ac, and only +poison on the rest of it. The advantage over paw stuff is the graphic, this stuff is black when you put it on. Not sold on the usefulness, but it really looks good.

Do gnomes have a higher resistance to poison than other races or did Verant just add poison resist to all gnome skin gear for the hell of it?
