I love this Weapon
# May 01 2001 at 4:16 PM Rating: Default
I love this weapon, not for the delay or the dmg but for the effect. It procs about 3 times per MOB and give an amount of bandages that equal your lvl / 2 !!! Very cool for a tank.
A MUST HAVE
band-aids

Proc not a right clickable effect, which does not in any way impeed it's effectiveness.

Last night I was fighting in Eastern Wastes with a warrior who had one (45 I think), and all he had to do was do a few battles with this in his off hand to get all the bandages he needed. At this level you should have enough dexterity to proc it 2 times per normal battle at least

I am a magician, and the SPELL (and I assume the dagger) gives you Level/2 bandages, max on stack.

Summoning band-aids is a pain..it has a four second (or so) recast time.

Question
# Jan 23 2001 at 1:55 AM Rating: Default
can monk's use the effect? e-mail with answer at timbaland725@hotmail.com
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 24 2001 at 10:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Can you read? Do you see MNK listed as a class that can use it? Look up there--see the nice little picture? It tells you the classes that CAN use it. Sheesh--some people.
RE: Question
# Mar 17 2001 at 4:17 PM Rating: Default
The information up there also says that is a triggered effect not a random battle proc, which it actually is. So, his question was not unreasonable.

Can you cut him some slack? Sheesh--some people
RE: Question
# Mar 22 2001 at 9:18 AM Rating: Default
I'm 100% sure this effect is a proc, NOT triggered. I got one two days ago and I use it often, right clicking does nothing, it definitely procs.
Price?
# Jan 18 2001 at 1:40 AM Rating: Default
How much do these things normally go for?
RE: Price?
# Jan 23 2001 at 4:46 AM Rating: Default
Given that it is only slightly better than a rusty weapon...not much. My warrior will not take that kind of hit in damage potential to summon a stack of bandages once in a while. The only chars that would even use this are lowbies, and it will only summon a couple of bandages at a time for them. I saw someone trying to sell one of these for 10K or trading for singing steel arms and bracers. I hope they get it, but I would price this POS somewhere around 30-50 pp.
RE: Price?
# Mar 05 2001 at 12:20 AM Rating: Decent
it procs very often.. it's not meant to be a primary weapon.. you can obviously take it off and put it away. it makes for alot of convenience for true high level meleers. i now have to go to town from sebilis far less (long walk if no druid/wizard friends are on). just stab a few rounds with this.. and i have plenty of bandages for the night. these are going for 800-1k on ayonae ro.

Knife works
# Jan 05 2001 at 4:56 PM Rating: Default
The knife procs during battle and summons 20 bandages per proc. The bandages appear on your cursor. I was able to use this as of January 3rd.

Would be more useful as a right clickable item because the stats are poor. I am a level 51 ranger and would like to give this to my 27 warrior, but i'm not sure when it procs.
RE: Knife works
# Jun 01 2002 at 10:09 AM Rating: Decent
As the other reply to this post mentioned, it begins proc'ing at level 1 though you will get very little benefit at that level due to the amount of procs necessary to create a stack or two of bandages.

I used one on my 35 rogue and I must say it helps immensely for those zones far from a merchant, or for running around newbie zones healing newbies (yes I do that from time to time.) A 27 warrior would get plenty of use from this blade, just trade it out with offhand occasionally to keep your bandage stock replinished

Dude. Here's the real lowdown. At level 1, it summons 1 bandage. at level 4, 2 bandages. at level 6, 3 bandages. Not hard to figger out after that. It's a PROC, not a right clickable effect, so classes that cant equip, cant summon.
Sounds like there are different versions of it.
# Jan 05 2001 at 5:30 AM Rating: Default
I bought one of these in town the other night from a level 48 friend. I tried everything I could think of to get it to work using my 27 wiz, switched it to my 50 ranger. Finally got it to proc during combat, said "Item is out of charges." I petitioned it, and the guide blew about an hour and finally told me to repetion on Friday when the lead is on. Hmmm, never heard that before. In any case, I think it has to be messed up... how often would a long casting summon spell NOT be interrupted during a battle? Uninterruptable casting only works for npc's, as everyone knows :)
Bandage proc
# Dec 22 2000 at 1:21 AM Rating: Default
According to someone who has one, though I admit their trustworthiness may be dubious, the proc is not broken, but is instead a combat proc. I really hope this isn't the case, so I'd appreciate if someone could either confirm or deny this.
RE: Bandage proc
# Mar 03 2001 at 5:45 PM Rating: Default
Yes, it is a combat proc. I have one. Just take it out on greenies and VOOSH youve got a ton o bandages...btw i'm selling one on Tunare, send a tell to Nonadil
RE: Bandage proc
# Dec 22 2000 at 11:43 AM Rating: Default
It is a combat proc... however, if you looted one BEFORE the last patch, it will not work at all. I tried petitioning and got no response in 7 hours.

It summons a stack of 20 bandages when the proc goes off. Kinda fun to throw a stack of bandages into a bag while you are meleeing hehe.
Fun thing to do:
# Dec 30 2000 at 11:54 AM Rating: Default
Try weilding two of these. :)
I'm going to be doing that tomorrow when I get on. Got a second one tonight. Givin' it to a good friend... but untill then, I'm gonna have some fun gettin' double the bandages. :)

Could non listed classes use spell?
# Dec 12 2000 at 4:34 PM Rating: Default
Could monks, paladins, etc. use the spell on this item, even though they are not able to equip it?

Not sure if that is a global rule or not...

No, it is a procing weapon. Therefore it must be wielded to use it.

there's actually a few items that the classes not listed can use.. the necklace with illusion skeleton off cazic comes to mind.. there's some other neck piece from velious that casts eye of zomm, non listed classes can use.. the old guise.. but generally, they're making it so you need to be able to use the item, to use the effect on most things
with this item, it's a proc that goes off while you fight, so yes for sure only listed classes can use.. *sigh* guess my monk needs to keep paying for bandages :(
RE: think again :)
# Jun 16 2001 at 9:26 AM Rating: Default
The non listed classes can't use those items, they can just use the effect by clicking on it in the inventory.
Odd Weapon -- currently broke
# Dec 12 2000 at 2:36 AM Rating: Decent
As of today this weapon is broken. The effect is a proc and it gives a message saying no charges are left. It drops on the 4th story of the Tower off a high 30 low 40 nasty looking named undead hag.

Yes, it drops off of the same mob that drops the key to the 5th floor, and unfortunately, it is broken right now, otherwise this is quite a good item to have, unlimited bandages for melee classes, this is a great item :)
RE: Odd Weapon -- currently broke
# Feb 27 2001 at 3:46 AM Rating: Decent
Actuallly, it isn't broken. I summoned 100 bandages in 6 hits. Not bad ehh. Anyways, its magical and can be dual wielding, <not lore> Which means, get two for your warrior =)

Just wanted to point out that if you rearrange the letters in your name, it spells "Shurugli". But you probably knew that already.
