I bought this weapon in the bazaar for around 360pp for my lvl 5 Froglok cleric and he loves it. This thing takes out dark blues with one or two hits; one if the Ice Rend goes off which it frequently does. I have not found it to be an excessive stamina hog either. I am looking foward to getting my 2H blunt skills up to see what this thing can really do!
I just bought this in the bazaar for 50 pp for my 7 troll SK. I likes it and was wondering if I got a good deal on it, should I try to re-sell it for more or keep it? Also, I'm untwinked and poor, so was thinking if i could resell it for much more I could get decent armor or somethin.
Yes, it procs at lvl 1. Don't know if the Icereaver does, too, or not....
I won a roll for an Icegrinder while hunting FGs in tge Great Divide and armed a Barbarian Warrior I created with it. It procced for the first time on the second blow he struck with it.
Really does great damage when it hits AND procs. =)
I am a level 25 Ogre Beaslord with no haste item, self-buffed I have 174str 153sta and 106dex. I picked one of these up with my main fighting giants in GD and I love it! Even without double attack its a great weapon, I hit in the 80s and proc regularly. My 1h weapons are a Polished Steel Ulak, a Fighting Baton and a Crystalline Spider Fang and the Icegrinder smokes any combo of these to the point where I can take down MOBs faster with no pet and the grinder than I can with a pet and two 1 handers. My only gripe with this weapon is that it's slow enough to make it hard to keep 2hb capped but even with lower 2hb skill it still blows my 1 handers away. As far as being a stamina drainer I have to agree that it is but with my Ogre stamina I don't suffer any noticible loss when I run out of stamina except losing the ability to jump. I'd reccomend this for anyone who can use it and if your a smaller race then work that stamina over 100 and swing away, this one is definitly an overlooked gem!
Go with a much lower delay weapon to practice 2HB with. Your skill points go up more steadily the more you swing, so a Ketchata Koro Mis (sp?) with stats of 7/30 is much better for practice than a 45 delay weap. Also you can get the afore-mentioned weapon for about 50pp from the bazaar.
Once you have a decent skill, you can probably get some of the nicer (but relatively cheap, since not all THAT many tanks use 2HB) 2 handed weapons. Warriors get the Sarnak Battlehammer (30/40, bought mine for 800, but now it's down to around 500 on my server). Shadowknights get a Deathbringer's Rod (also 30/40, which sell for around 500-700 on Inny). Not too sure about the other classes, but there appears to be similar situations for them as well.
P.S. When practicing melee skills, get as much dex as you can. Dex affects weapons skill increases more than wisdom or intelligence, and the shaman or enchanter won't look at you like you're insane when you ask for wis or int.
Ya kinda can't compare 2h weapons to 1h weapons, its entirely situational. LSoEE is a damn fine weapon, as well as Centi LS(too bad it looks tacky), but in some situations this might be better...like facing opponents with a damage shield (without null magic loaded), or as a ranger it would be good to switch to a 2hander to inflict some damage while avoiding taunt and pissing off the cleric because he has to waste mana on healing a chain wearer.

Although it still hit for an impressive 55 damage constantly!!! So if anyone has some cash ill sell it to them just send me a tell and offer to Wordar.
If I recall, this may have switched to large races only. Either this or the shield from LONGSHANKS was large races only, and being at work, I cannot remember which one it was.
My Barb Shaman (catyra) decided to try this thing out after looting it, and on 4 of the 5 melee's I decided to get into, the first thing the weapon did was PROC. It procced at least twice more each battle.
If this is NOT the Large Race Only item, I am loaning it to a warrior I know who uses 2hb weapons to see what kind of damage it will really do.

i have this on my SK and its one of my favorite despite its stamina draining capabilities i have done dmg as high as 212 with it minus proc on a double hit(111 first 101 second) its a very nice wepon to use when you arent having constant fighting and a few seconds to recuperate your stamina

Just so everyone knows...and to me..are just a waste of time. Sell to the low lvl newbies for 5-10pp a pop or venders..

Do a WTB at 1k and you will get about 10tells in EC. As with most vellious items the prices on these sight are way off now. I have sold these to vendors for cheap because I couldn't sell for 500pp at auction and am sick of letting them rot.

I bought this from a merchant in thurgadin for around 600pp...I was lvl 35 bar shaman hitting for up to 74 dam and procing for 30.... Sure is nice to finally be able to beat the crap out of the mobs...) Bellium aphraelsown Lvl 36 barbarian shaman
What is better for shammy, the Icegrinder or Frost Giant Femur? The Icegrinder has a slightly better ratio and an ok DD proc but is heavier and gives no AC. The femur has a worse ratio but gives 5 AC and the proc is a hi-level paladin strength and AC buff called Yaulp II.
This is a nice item, but like the blackened alloy whatever sword is much too easy to get. A guy was glad to trade lore crap with me, I was aking 800pp at the time. Verant did a nice job again of ******** most everyone with mid level 2hb's.
I got a good deal on this in EC, did a trade worth about 1100pp for it. Put on my lvl 27 shaman, who is now just lethal. Not only buffs, AoE, DD...now hitting for 50+ in dmg..plus the proc..I love it!! I sold my Jade Chokidia Prod, and with that got a Blade of Xalgoz for my warrior, was a good day in EC. I seriously suggest getting this if your a shammy, most shammys use the prod...which when mastered does 20-25dmg each hit...this does 50+ and i can increase my own stamina, and have invigor rdy...so SWEET!!
Xorraiz Ravenfang 27th Shammy, 7th Hammer General, Venom Brood
Ummm What kind of self respecting Shaman above level 30 even bothers meleeing unless a creature is fleeing and/or the Shaman has full mana anyway?. A Jade Chokidai Prod or similar weapon would better suit a Shamans needs.
lol, no way, i solo alot killing the surefall glade guards and millers. Sure it would be nice to sit back and haste and buff the melees, but if u want great xp u have to solo. AND...i wish we always have full mana, but when u run low...and it comes down to your wpn for staying alive...i dont think I'd want the prod over this. no way. but, to each his/her own.
Xorraiz Ravenfang 30th season Iksar Shammy General, Venom Brood 7th Hammer
LOL! I'm 45 soloing and I never even touch my solo's. Root, DoT, Root again can drop anything that doesn't resist too much. Not trying to make fun of you or anything, but unless you give up on WIS and Mana gear and go for AC and HP, you won't last more then 10 hits at 45. You'll see soon enough. Hehe I can solo two blues at once, thats good exp ;)
well, the Shaman buddy that you've been clearly telling to stop meleeing is going to be a much more well-rounded shaman... it's best to build up your melee/defense skills while you still can without gettin the snot beat out of you, and it will pay off later in the game when those skills are put to the test.... (you try to find shaman that doesn't get beat on after slowing the mob into molasses at least ONCE during any raid)
Have fun with your big **** hammer, and play the way you want... it's like telling people not to train certain weapon skills... sure there are easier items to get with certain skills, but who's to say you're not going to one day get a better item with that skill that everyone told you not to practice...

Pain Lord Darknyss Grimscale 92 Iksar Crusader of the Greenmist
I got the Icegrinder today. Kickass weapon that dropped of a Frost Giant. Not sure wheter Scout or Berserker. I won the roll, and when seeing the weapon i was certain it was valuable. The warrior in the group offered to buy it for 600 pp, but i wanted to poke around on the price! 2 other chars in the Great Divide zone both gave me a PC spanning from 2k pp to 3.5k pp. Not at all 600. This baby is mine and even though heavy it's a good weapon for my ranger to use! Finally got me a 2h blunt that is good. Now where is my 2h slasher and my Crystallized Longsword. Don't worry. Icetooth's claw is already where it belongs. On my right hand! Ranger of the 33rd Leafedbranch of the Faydark Champions!
