I paided 800pp for this and its worth it. My lvl 2 gnome sk twink with no gear hits for as much as 20 with this thing and it proc'd the first time he pierced with it. Not a bad midrange weapon at all. Will due til I get my mace of the shadowed soul. Hope I helped

just wait till you hit level 20, this thing should hit starting in the 30s. my monks using a 12/23 and its hitting up to 31 at 28. this would be pretty nice when hitting for full.
btw should use lower dly weapon for twinking, anything with dmg > 10 is basically useless until level 20. low dly lowish dmg, say a 10/20 or such, would benefit much more than a 15/34, because of the level 20 damage cap (20).

I was just about to wonder about that... I have both the Stalag and the Mace of The Shadowed Soul ( https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2664 ) and was wondering about which is truly better. The DD of the Mace os MUCH better, but with no proccing effect.
Will that help determine which to use???

Like he said use both I use spear til it procs then change to MoSS for the big damage.

A guildmate let me use one for a few lvls. I was 19 when I started and procced all the time. I was told by the guildmate that it proc's at lvl 1, hope this helps.

Does this spear use "2h Piercing" or can you still equip a shield with it?

I play as the most intellegent Troll on the Brell Serilis Server, His name is Burps Doombreath. He started as a twink because I had a full suit of sentient armor just taking up space. This spear is an awesome twink weapon for Sks that solo because the proc is a str,sta,ac reducer and it stacks with your sk steal str spell, so you can really bring you targets Str down fast. Great for soloing, cast your spell, get the spear to proc and watch the mob go from hitting for 30s to hitting for 5s

Bought one on CT server for 300 PP. They drop like water and most Sks don't want them since there are better items out there for piercing. (I am not sure what, I just wanted someting for my sk to work up piercing and it was cheap.)
By the way I was told that paying 300 pp for it ment that i got robbed. So, I would say that 1702 is a bit much.
Personally i like it, it is fun to mess with.

I'm a solo troll SK on Drinal--lvl 23. Just bought this from NPC vendor in The Overthere for ~750 PP. Nearly busted me, but the prices for buying in-game are higher.
Anyway: proc'd right away, really cool. Seems random, but maybe 1-3 times a fight. Some mobs resist, some don't.
My char has no skills at piercing, so building from ground up. (Doing the same w/ 2HB) Even so, killing blues OK. Char's Double Attack is at 98, which helps.
This may become my new main weapon for my 20's. And yes, the look is totally suck. Boring spear.

My guild was hunting in Crystal area when they got this, since I am the Only Shadowknight in the guild they gave this to me when I was level 22 I leveled to 25 with it in 2 days....this thing does proc, sometimes the creature might resist every so often, but it can proc up to 5 times in same fight....or none at all, just depends. is it the room where hollow crystals etc spawns in? IE the room at the end of terror tunnel?
We got one last night -- the Terror Carver spawned at the very end of the Terrors tunnel, the furthest one from the door of the last chamber.

I have one of these and Im a level 8 Sk and its great the effect disempower is awesome, it procs at lvl 1 i think so thats a plus its a debuffer, so thats cool. I also got it for free :)

I got one of these its not bad at all . i have a lv 28 SK on lany`s i never practiced piercing and i used it on 5 kills went up to 21 already LOL ...

This spear is pretty nice. I have one as my main weap (37 SK) and it is fairly fast for the amount of damage that it does. It's a lot of fun to see it proc and then watch a mob's life go down. It's also a big taunt too, so casters in my groups generally are very happy to see this go off. Also I have found that I take less damage when using this than I used to when attacking the same mobs with a Dark Reaver. Yeah it's a piercer and it's not nice that the skill caps at 215 instead of 225, but I think that by that point I will probably have a better / different weap. All in all if you are looking for a decent mid range weapon this isn't too shabby, give it a try and you'll be surprised.

I don't know if anyone's noticed this, but it seems this has the exact same damage and delay as the Ghoulbane, 15/34. Perhaps this is meant to be the Shadowknight's Ghoulbane equivalent.

Perhaps I read this wrong but he was saying that it is a Shadow Knight weapon with similar stats to the Ghoulbane. Perhaps you should take your own advice.

The disempower proc of this spear can taunt greatly on creatures... it's a supertaunt when it procs 2 times quickly.
It also removes the effect on the creature of the Siphon Strength spell.

Doesn't remove the Siphon Strength effect, it overwrites it because it is a more powerful effect that does exactly the same thing.
The taunting is the reason I keep one of these in my EE bag. At 49 im still also using my very first dot Disease Cloud for taunting purposes. The only problem I'm having with this is that the proc is resisted most of the time on the mobs at my lvl.
