Scars of VeliousI don't know about buying the Black Steel Wrap off any vendor. Unless a player sold it to that vendor. Though, hunting in Great Devide with my Lvl 32 Bard. It has dropped several times off of the Drakkel Dire Wolves near the Giants.

Which would you say is better, this or the straw spun belt?....stats are: 10ac 6wieght. I bought one of these for 40pp to replace my SSB and think I did ok. What do you think?
Actually, I'm having a tough time coming up with a scenario where this is better than a SSB. The only one I can come up with is an extremely low-strength character... Other than that, i can't see taking a 4ac hit (raw) to save a few stones. And 10hp is essentially meaningless.

This is, generally, a bit cheaper then a SSB, and of course lighter. I dropped one on my HIE ranger because A) I had it from killing wolves, and B) my ranger is a wimp and I try to keep the weight down. Otherwise, the SSB is pretty much always a better bet for that extra AC.

I'm not 100% sure, but ... I think he mistyped in, for his HALF-ELF ranger ... which can exist in EQ, whereas HIGH ELF rangers cannot.
