And if you ask me, putting the tunic on a barbarian looks sorta like the monk chest strap style leather armor ;)

I'm on the Rathe server and playing a dark elf warrior. I recently got my hands on a cured Tizmak tunic and a pair of Tizmak pants... but when I put them on, they look like regular leather. Is the graphic glitched on Rathe?

Nevermind, just found out about the graphic change that needs to be done to one of the .ini files in the EQ folder. Hopefully that'll fix it.

I'm curious... why is it that the sleeves, the legs, etc. of this armour type as well as the Cured Tizmak stuff and Ulthork say that Monks can wear them but not the Tizmak Tunic? Just a thought...

I've added a pic to the fashion guide, but it's a **SWEET** "formal" look for DE's.
How would you know if it looks like fine steel on an iksar when iksars can't wear fine steel?
you can see what it looks like on iksars when bards or rogues use an iksar illusion mask.

Iksars can wear this -- I think it because it's classified as leather. Whatever it is, however, it does come out looking like some sort of plate on an Iksar - very cool. Wore this on my shammy untill I got high enough to get the Scaled Mystic.

The Tizmak and Ulthork armors look gorgeous on high elves. I just found out about them myself, and girls, if you're looking for a wedding outfit, this is the way to go. If you're a high elf, the armor is white, with a slight pink tint to it. A must-have for high-elf females who attend any functions (weddings, guild events, etc).

yah, i just noticed on my friend, he is a high elf pally, he has ry'gorr battle mail and few tizmak pieces and looks like a priest. Its all nice white with gold and stuff on it.

I'm having the same problem as the barbarian and high elf posters. Tizmak armor just looks like normal leather to me. I'm a half-elf ranger with the Velious expansion. I know it must look different though because people are constantly inspecting me and asking about it. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

read the suplement.doc. it tells you how to ENABLE the velious armor in there. page 7.

I have this armor not the "cured" type and it does show the new "velious" look. It looks like fine steel armor on iksars.

this armour is good for a lvl 1 cleric who traveld to velious and back it is very good

Its not great, its ok for a druid. Well mabybe not the chest armor, for that you better off with a foremens or lockjaw. But anywho, the other pieces like the arms and legs are good for druids. Its better ac then leather and it looks kewl if you have the velious patch, so i heard. Like ry'gorr, its all good.

Tizmak armor does provide the new look. For some idiot reason people (including myself) are not having any of the new textures enabled after installing the expansion. I realized this after being in a group, then looking at my friends screen and seeing many of them all in new textures. Getting the utility eqinieditor provides some option to enable all the textures. I did it, they now show properly.

You have to go to your EQclient thing and change it so LoadAmror is TRUE not false. I had the same prob until i changed it

Go to Start->Find->Files or Folders and search for EQClient.ini.
Open it in notepad and You will see 6 lines that say:
LoadArmor17=FALSE
LoadArmor18=FALSE
LoadArmor19=FALSE
LoadArmor20=FALSE
LoadArmor21=FALSE
LoadArmor22=FALSE
Set all FALSE to TRUE.
Also, while in this file, at the top, I recommend setting:
RUNMODE=TRUE
So you never have to click run when you log in again:-)

In my opinon, this armor is more for looks than for daily wear. On my wood elf, it looks like gem inlaid leather armor. From what I have read, it looks different on each class. I got a full set just to wear on gatherings and special events. I call it my "Norrath Tux" 8)

hmm...i saw this stuff on an iksar male and it was a tanish color...very cool look though, i must admit...not quite plate, but had an almost rigid look to it...neat stuff imo...
I dont have the expansion yet, but i got this out of a trade and the guy who traded it to me said that it looks like oyu have fur on you when you wear it, but since i dont have SoV yet i dont know for sure, anyone know?
This armor is actually really kool. The cured is much better and doesn't seem to cost an outragous amount either. I got the cured tunic for 50pp... and they both DO look the same, I have purchased two now of each...
It looks best on wood elves in my opinion, or pretty kool on humans, even monks though the weight is pretty high. (cured is one less...)

It looks like gold laced leather with some sort of sparkly jewels on it. very hip, especially for druids, but for those that wish to be anon... this is gonna make you stick out like a sore thumb. Might as well wear a sign that says "ASK ME FOR A SOW" cause that may be what you get...:-)

Each wearable race looks different wearing it. Mostly it resembles Leather, and is totally unique from all other leather based outfits. Wood elves look like they are wearing ornate brown / gold tights. It is much simpler looking on half elves, and in most cases better looking because it is not nearly as noisy. On a barbarian, it looked like a new type of leather. And on the dark elf female... WOW. looks like some kind of blue and orange superhero outfit.
Sorry I don't have pictures of this armor. I recently got a full suit of Tizmak and Ulthork armor myself, and I have yet to try it on all the races and take screenshots.

I bought Tizmak chest and leggings and i am a Barbarian. i thought it would look like it does on the barb male picture under fashion tables. It looks like a regular leather tunic. im really mad. anyone know why it doesnt show up on me like regular leather?

I have the same problem, everyone says it looks sweet on my high elf pally, but it just looks like leather to me.. I think its cuz I don't have the velious add-on. Perhaps you need the expansion to see the graphics
