This item can be used in tradeskills, as can other velium weapons.
For this one, combine in a forge with a Velium Smith Hammer.
It makes a Small Piece of Velium and a Small Brick of Velium.
It is no fail and appears that is not a learned recipe (it diod not show up in the forge recipe list after I successfully did the combine)..

Currently our recipe system doesn't have a way to break items down so I added the recipes onto the Small Piece of Velium and Small Brick of Velium.

Im a lvl 7 ShadowKnight and it proc'd for me the other night. It may have been a fluke, since I too have heard it does not proc until 25.

im not sure about the velium weopans w/the shards proc but my crystaline spyder fang procs shards and it worked for my bard at lvl 1 its a nice 12dmg DD procs like onece or twice a fight well anyways enjoy.

Pretty Much the Velious equivalent of fine Steel, all of this "Velium <insert weapon>" drops off 25ish and up mobs on teh Velious continent, Very common drops if you hunt in velious and Procs @ lv 25, I have heard many conflicting reports for the proc but I can guarantee you it all procs @ 25, no sooner, no later, sells to a vendor for about 5pp give or take and makes a nice gift to noobs, this is not to say that all weapons that have velium in the name are junk, just these generic ones, there are some really nice weapons that have some real nice stats but you will know the difference by not only the stats but also the fact that name is not a common name (ie short sword, great staff, long sword etc.) hope this info helps

A friend gave me this weapon and a Velum Long sword. What do they do? And is this better than a combine Long sword. I am very new to this game and I don't know what these weapons do.

i bought one yester day for,i boought it cuz i needed something to yuse in my free hand cuz im out to ding 13 anyone know what xactly velium shards does i paid less than 10pp for this weapon i thought it was a steal lol

I am kinda new to the game. When using this sword on my lvl 17 ranger it says "you do not have the will to command this weapon" What does that mean.

This Sword is now Damage 10, Delay 24 Save Magic and Cold +5.procs Velium Shards at level 12 and goes for about 800pp

Why don't you have information on my sword? Has it been modified by a Wizard? Is that possiable?

This thing should only be bought for 20-30pp. I've seen it sold for as little as 10pp by someone in a pinch for money in east commons on Vazaelle. The most i've ever seen it go for was when i myself payed 45pp for it. I wanted it to twink out one of my lower characters, and i didn't want to wait for another bidder to show up :)

I have heard that they proc at 25. But I also just read on battlezinc's EQ weapon database that it procs at 27.
BTW it is worth 200-250pp and I just bought one from the merchant in Freeport's bank for 66pp!
Anyways, I'm 22 and will find out when it procs for myself :)

Merchants always charge more and pay less for player items. That does not change the value, as a character would not pay another character 66pp for this sword.
