Bought for 55pp from vendor in froststone. Nice to outfit my lesser characters. Of course we killed inspector shortly thereafter, providing my companion with one as well.
This belt, for its weight and stats, isn't that bad an item for a monk who has yet to acquire an FBSS. Wouldn't BUY one for a monk, but if you come across one, might as well wear it til you get something better. One reason I like it is that was an easy wis item for my monk to get. Monks don't really need wis, but my monk, who's an aspiring brewer (210 so far!) can use all the wisdom she can get (have a special set of monk-usable wis gear on loan from my wis-casting characters, that I wear when doing tradeskills).
today was my first time in cc, and guess what i got.....i found the inspector AND the herbalist...what do u know..i got the pack and the belt...i guess i just got lucky
I don't know about y'all, but I would NEVER pay 1k for this belt. For that kind of pp you can invest in better wis items than this. Getting it seems pretty easy. Just about every time I go to CC we get one. On Brell they are going for about 300p right now (mid-June).
i've killed two insectors that happend to spawn in the small area i've solod from lvl 39 to 42(need a ton of small pieces for a raptor suit). both droped the belt and friends in zone got same drop off every inspector killed. maybe just zev but look at the stats. i sold both for 200 and was happy to get it; especialy for a item found on a lesser creature just happening by.
Taking into consideration that price is very server oriented... On TP I usually see this offered in the 400pp range. It seems like a fair price to me, it's not extremely rare but it's also not that common. We managed to equip all of our team who wanted one but it took some time. I also don't see it auctioned often.
There isn't a whole lot of easilly attainable wis belts at the level this one can be hunted making it quite desirable as well. At 50, I've been wearing this since I hunted it in my early 30s.
Supply/demand economics 101 and all that.... 400 seems like the appropriate price range. my 2cp...

2k?! Omg, there is no fuggin way. it drops in a 30-40 zone. I bought one for my cleric like 2 days ago, paid 100plat for it. I understand the view ppl have the right to charge what they want for their items, but ppl, just go camp one geez. If the zone was Lvl 50+, then it MIGHT be worth 1k, maybe a lil less. But theres just my 2cents. Laters all
This thing is a relatively common drop but is a very nice Priest Class belt. It commonly goes for 400PP on MT server which is fair for what it is. Anyone paying 1K is probably paying too much, Inspector spawns often enough and CC has always got 10 to 20 people in it on our server. Being a relatively small dungeon, thats plenty to camp all mobs. Lots of Ore farmers and Gem Farmers hang out here.
I have had them offered to me in ooc many times while hunting there because the person that gets the kill already has one.
I saw one for sale yesterday on Tarew Marr. The guy had /auctioned it with the stats. I sent him a tell and asked how much (since I've only got a plain leather belt now). He told me 1,500pp. I thought he was joking... and even said so. He asked me to make an offer and I told him 100pp. He got pissed.
Maybe somebody can explain to me why this belt is offered (and maybe sold) by other players for 1K and up.
If you do a quick search here at Allakhazam for Waist-slot items that also give Wisdom bonuses, you'll see that, until Luclin, the majority of them were: player crafted (very expensive), Planar, No Drop, or high-level zone drops. Many of them are restricted to certain classes, whereas this belt is All, All. It has pretty decent AC for a waist item, and a nice little AGI and HP bonus to boot. Any WIS caster in need of WIS gear would be hard pressed to find a better waist item until the end-game. There are some Luclin drops now which may change this... have to see.
Is it worth 1k? I dunno. Maybe. But I always say there is never a fixed price for anything. People will charge what they think they can get, and people will pay what they think it's worth.
one time I was on Gargoyle island in oot and I recieved a tell about the orakle being slayn and the robe left on him, so I looted the oracles robe (sweet deal, free) +5 wis woulda been nice but me being cleric no could use, so I ended up trading it for a sewn bag of evil eye and the belt, but I don't know the worth of the robe. was it about an even trade or am I un-smart? lol
I'm a level 22 monk on Vazealle and i got this belt from a friend.....its pretty good for monks , lightweight and nice AC and +HP....would rather have a FBSS but i already got my Knuckle Dusters and a Cane of Tranquil so I guess that'll have to wait.
Wow I was in EC lookin to offload my 34 druid's Tree Weave cause I wanted more Wis. So I hung out for like 2 hours when I finally strike up a deal. 1k plat AND a Crystalline Belt for the TW. What a deal! I had no idea this thing was worth almost 1k! Yay :)

Inspector does not spawn much...stayed in CC for a week, about 3 hours each day and only saw inspector twice on track. The belt is great for druids and perhaps monks. 0.8 is not that much is it? Its worth atleast 1k..compare this to other wis stat belt and you'll know why.
I have often seen this auctioned in NFP for 1k or less, usually less. It seems to me that every 30+ WIS caster except for me has one of these and I want to get in on the fun =P. Just my 2cp
But MM is an old server. People are buying these things for like their 5th character that they're trying to get to level 60. The economies are different on different servers. I'm on Torvo mainly, had a character on Sol Ro. A while back average price on an exe axe was 1K- 1.5K I went to Sol Ro and saw it for under 500pp. So prices can be very different server to server

OK now i have done all the studying of pathing and such. From what i can tell, the Herbie and inspector are considered liek the same mob, Just like mobs drops have a rarity, so do they, the herbalist is rare and his rare PH is the inspector( never seen them at the same time or had anyone tracked them at the same time) The Inspector has dropped 5 belts for me and thats over months of play and 9 lvls, and i cant count the herbie packs that have rotted, so if you see one, feel lucky most dont, you may see the other soon after = )

I'm a level 40 druid. I wanted this belt so bad. I zone in to CC and grouped with a pally for a bit just hunting near the T.
After he left, I started medding and hitting track to see if Herbalist would show. I had Gheal, gate, lev, camo, snare, dot, dd, and root spells memmed. Well whaddayaknow? Inspector shows up on track somewhere down the pit. I cast levitate, super camo, and float down to where he was at. He kept running here, there, and everywhere. There were watchmen and miners everywhere so I simply followed him and waited till I got him in a clear area which happened to be in a tunnel somewhere. I cast root, snare, dot, and DD away. Other mobs were close so I had to kill him quick. One miner aggro'd so I rooted it and kept DDing away at the inspector until it was dead. I looted it quick and gated out before mobs knew I was there. I got the Crystalline Belt. Hehe. I'm so happy. :P
