It seems and good warrior weapon too by improving how often the crits happen and how often the weapon procs.
I was lent 1 for a couple of hours and loved it. I want a price for it??? or how to get it.
Thoughts on DEX

Another good point about DEX often forgotten or most of the time not even realized is that the higher your DEX is the more you hit in the upper range of your damage spectrum.

In other words High STR means higher MAX (Along with level etc...) AND
High DEX means the more you hit near your MAX.

DEX also affects damage MAX with ranged weapons like STR does with melee weapons.

DEX also affects how often one Procs or hit Crits/Crips.

Put my words to the test if you don't believe me. Think back to the last time an enchanter cast "Boon" on you... Not only did you proc and crit more but you also hit more hits in the upper range of your damage spectrum.

The Moral to the story is DEX is good. This is nice secondary weapon.

doesnt boon of garou add attack too? if it does then thats why you were hitting harder...if that is the same boon you are referring to anyway.

"High DEX means the more you hit near your MAX."

Not true, Dex has nothing to do with that. Check some Rogue or Monk sites. You can have 180 dex and if your strength sucks you will average well below your max hit.

Strength is what makes your average hit higher, as well as your max hit. The best thing about high Dex is you get more dual wield/double attacks, Crits/Crips, and procs from having it high. Bows are for pulling and you cant use one with a sword anyway.
RE: Thoughts on DEX
# Apr 05 2001 at 4:55 AM Rating: Decent
If you're a ranger like myself, bows are not just for pulling. Bows also help to offset the lack of damage done using magic when kiting an enemy and you CAN use a bow with any melee weapon. As long as you have a bow equipped (with ammo), are far enough away from the enemy, and are not in auto attack mode, you can shoot with it.

Sorry to tell the person disputing DEX upping your average hit, but he's right, parsed logs almost ever day with my Half-Elf Rogue...
STR 140 DEX 198 with gear and compared them to the Barbarian Rogue I made on the following server STR 182 DEX 118 with gear, and my Wood Elf averaged about 20 percent higher on where his hits landed within the normal damage spread, whereas the Barb was very erratic... this was even more extreme in relation to backstabs... Wood Elf would get a backstab within 5 percent of max almost every time, the Barbarian was lucky to get within 25 percent more than a few pokes per fight....

Hm I have mixed feelings concerning dexterity vs. strength. Firstly, at lvl 40 I'm still using a blade of xalgoz *covers face in shame*. Either way, my strength is decent for my level I would say, at 190. My dexterity, however, is around 89 or 90. Well, when I do manage to hit, I hit for a decent amount, yet around 45% of the time I miss. Hmph. Recently got my dexterity up around 5 and I am in fact hitting more often. Not conclusive, though considering little people with low strength high dexterity hardly ever missing and me with high strength and low dexterity, makes me wonder...
Bard in Heaven

Plus 20 dex and 9 damage with a 22 delay, only one thing to say and thats what a great weapon. I did some research on the proc. It procs at level 50 and will remove 2 magic buffs or dots , roots etc from both the mob and the holder of the weapon. Some my cry at this, but its not bad. Why those who fight level 50 mobs know that most of these mobs have magic buffs on them. This weapon in the primary slot would remove those buffs. Once the mob has been debuffed this weapon can be moved to the off hand or secondary spot were it seldom procs. As a Bard I can easly just rebuff my sell. The look of the weapon also has made me a center of many tells to me. Price 10 to 15k on Eci were I play. O yes when I dueld the pesky Necro the proc kept me DOT free. I won!

Actually, its procs at 45th. I'm a Warrior and was
using it in my off hand until yesterday. I made
45, and it kept dropping the buffs my party members had put on me. Great stats tho, I passed it on to a Ranger friend who's 39th <smile>
RE: Bard in Heaven

I bought this for 2K at 27th level. Yes, this is a bard in heaven, for a while at least!
This is a cursed sword
# Dec 19 2000 at 2:40 PM Rating: Default
Me and my group looted this, came off the LT (luetenant spelling??) who hits hard and fast. anyways, I cast id on the sword, and it is actually called Spelleaters Cursed Sword (have the person who looted it hold it while you cast identify on said player). The proc Dispell magic does work rather well.... on the player that is wielding it, so unless you mind playing unbuffed (which at the level you get this would be suicide since it stripped 7 buffs from the ranger this time), its not worth that much except to someone who can use it before the level limit is surpassed and the weapon starts to proc.
RE: This is a cursed sword
# Feb 20 2001 at 5:36 AM Rating: Default
The process kicks in at 45... up to then, this sword is a very nice weapon to dual wield with a second weapon that processes. The +20 dex will increase processes from the other weapon. Once you reach 45+, then sell, trade, or give it to a younger guildmate who can use it. Or find a bard. They seem to love this weapon even above 45.

As a bard I'd put this puppy in my off-hand with no qualms. Most of the time I don't mind losing buffs since they refresh every six seconds or so.
TRIGGERED??

Says its triggered, is this not so?
RE: This is a cursed sword, BUT....
# Jan 19 2001 at 10:25 PM Rating: Good
If you were rooted, had a nasty DoT that was killing you, etc., it would be nice to
have this, pull it out, and use the 'cursed' proc to get out of trouble.

The proc is cancel magic on yourself.

No fun.
Seems sucky?
# Dec 16 2000 at 8:56 PM Rating: Default
In a group situation this would remove your groups DoTs and snares when it procs - or no?

I got this sword today, and its freakin awesome. Looks like a Darkreaver when held, so its like you got a 2h sword. The dmg/del is nice, and the 20 dex is awesome. I havent used the proc yet but i hear is a big dispell, which wouldnt be too bad considering the other stats it has.

not just wicked with bards
# Dec 07 2000 at 2:08 PM Rating: Decent
Just imagine the extra procs from dual wielding this with something akin to a Yak. That, and more crits for the warriors out there :)
RE: not just wicked with bards
# Dec 09 2000 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
You'll get less procs using this with another weapon than you would with 2 weapons that proc. Still a very nice weapon though. That is damage procs. 8)

RE: not just wicked with bards: rangers! When does it proc?

Drools...
# Dec 12 2000 at 4:05 AM Rating: Default
Just saw one for sale tonight in FP on the veeshan server...OMG! I just about fainted when a fella put it in a trade window for me to see and than asked me how much I thought it was worth! I am a 24th level bard and I have NEVER seen anything like it,LOL. I guessed at least 3k but when i asked my guild they were offering very IMPORTANT body parts if ya know what i mean so its gotta be worth so much more... the fella wanting to sell it (why? I would keep it!) thought at least 6k..what do you fellas think?
RE: Drools...
# Dec 20 2000 at 9:50 PM Rating: Default
Considering it processes cancel magic on yourself, probably not worth as much as you think. But, for a soloing melee type, sans buffs anyway, could be helpfull in fighting casters-about all it seems if this is acurate.
RE: Drools...
# Dec 23 2000 at 12:10 AM Rating: Default
Imagine a twink with one. It wont proc til 45 if I remember right. Then imagine after that using it with clickable items... jmans, gob earring, etc. If you pay attention, you can keep buffs up that are expendable and easily replacable. This is more than a cursed weapon. +20 dex and 9/22 is damn nice. Got efreeti boots from trading the sword.

Ummm, by the time you get one of these, it's procing. Which means no buffs, which means you die. Soloing for a bard, warrior, or rogue, who'm I kiding, you don't get to solo at this level as those classes..... hmm this a twink weapon. I doubt it'd get sold in ec, this beauty would go for big bucks, if at all. We picked up a couple the past couple nights, and if I see someone in the guild selling it, you can bet the guild leaders will hear about it. Stuff obtained on guild raids is used within the guild, or sold and put in guild bank for port stones, gem components, etc.
