My little sister ...

Aloha all and well met

This is a rather common drop off of the kobalds in Velks. Most of us who hunt there with any frequency have spider fur coming out of our ears. If I duo a session with a DC chanter in UD for a couple hours, I will walk out with 4-5 different spider fur items. They are all passed off to my level 11 druidic sister. Once I have 20-30 items, I wander the foot hills of Everfrost and BB passing out Spider fur to the nakeed barbarians (the newly created players) to help keep them warm.

The price on Spider fur items (neck, cloak, and belt) have all plumeted to the 100pp level. Personally, I find it more valuable to give the stuff away than to fill up my bank with "low value items" -- give me more room to store all those unfinished quest items please :-)

If buying these on the drinal server one should not pay more than 200pp.

Happy hunting

At level 45, I was still wearing a wu's fighting cloak, sad isn't it? Finally got this. It just seems that there aren't many good monk back items out there, this is definitely one of those few. Easy to find in the bazaar for 200-300pp.
Good Deal??

I was on my way from Freeport to Firioan Vie one time (taking boat and translocators) and on the way i was just browsing merchants. I found one of these for about 2 plat. Must have been my lucky day.
Monk Only?

Determining who gets these in a group shouldn't be that difficult. There are a few (COMMON SENSE) rules to keep in mind though. Sure, the 0.0 wt is outstanding! Who wouldn't want to wear an all/all 10ac +stats with 0.0 wt? If there happens to be a lot of loot. . . loot that a monk can't grab due to his/her wt restriction. . . then go ahead and let em have it. . . but. . . if it's been fair game all game. . .everyone should roll on it. I'm a Monk of the 27th Scale. . and when I loot something better than what I have. . .I keep the slightly lesser stuff for trade purposes later on. . . . granted that run to the bank might be tedious. . . . but you can work something our for later in the game. .. . that's what tells are for. This happens to be my first and only character .. . . and I would love to get a hold of any spider fur anything. . . but if I'm in a group. . . let's face it. . most people in my groups all have a need for it. I am a non-tweaked character that's had to punch kick and claw my way to where I am at. . . . but I also understand that at some point. . . so did almost everyone else that plays this GAME. If I happen to have an unlucky roll once in a while. . . .I will roll on something another party member needs. ..and then if I win. . work out a trade. Common Sense. Keep in mind also, that this is still just a game. It is addictive (I'm hooked for life!) it can be frustrating. .but never lose sight that it's still a game. Have fun with it.
Need before greed VS everyone rolls

If I am grouped with my guild, or with friends, you can bet i want to do Need before Greed. These are the people I usually raid/hunt/camp with. I want them to be well eqquipped.

Pickup groups should always expect everyone to roll on items, unless agreed upon in advance. If I am in Karnor's and a T staff drops, you bet I want to roll on it. It's worth more than all my gear put together. Plus, why should I pass up a chance for decent stuff, because some guy I don't know, and have never grouped with before, says he needs it. I have no idea what kind of stuff he has in the bank. Besides, some zones drop mostly stuff for certain classes, and nothing for other classes. What incentive do I have to go there, if I can't roll on the loot. Besides, people get downright stupid with the NBG stuff. I had some goob who didn't want my cleric rolling on a tree flayer (or whatever that junk axe is called) in DL, because I couldn't use it. Now come on, who the heck is gonna actually use that thing, especially if they are high enough level to be in DL. It's merchant fodder anyway. Or the time a druid in Karnor's (who was the group leader) insisted that it was need before greed when the druid bracer dropped (after it dropped, you can bet if it was the cleric bracer, he would have rolled), and I saw him auctioning it the next day in EC (not the only time this has happened).

Look, I'm all about Need before Greed in my guild. Of course, if I get something that way, and outgrow it, I will pass it down to another guild member. But in pickup groups, no way. I've been burned too many times. Unless its no-drop, or we have agreed in advance that it is usable classes only, I want a roll. If I start the group, it will definitely be an all roll situation, and I will clearly state that to the group. Anyone who doesn't agree, can always group with someone else, and if I join a group, and don't like the loot rules, I'm out of there.

The biggest reason that people like to say "Great for a Monk" or "a Monk would K33L for this" is because 2 main reasons:

1 - Take a look a any given zone and what drops in it. Note which items are even Monk usable to begin with. Also note what items that list Monk as the class would actually be used by any monk in the same reality as us (ie. Weight < 10.0 )

2 - What sets of melee-only armor drop in this game? Lots, right? How many are monk only? Well...you got Crescent, and you got Planar, and you got....hmmm....wow....

Go figure.
No need to fight over it

With a good group killing kobolds in Velketor's Labyrinth you can walk away with 2 or 3 of these in an evening.
Dropped by kobolds

Any of the icepaw kobolds can drop this.
They are 46-51, some of them are shaman and clerics.
