These do not drop from a Frenzied Velium Broodling, it only drop the Silver Chiten Handwraps and the Crystal Chiten Bracer. Seen it drop off Crystal Eyes when it doesn't drop the Crystal Eyes.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 26 2002 at 3:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I got these for my 54 druid , I love the 20 ac and the 35 mana,,, I do use es gaunts in my inventory and have those and es vambs set up to quick change when I run out of mana or killing a low level mob( Ok FARMING ) there I said it .. I am so ashamed.. These make the difference in getting off that gate as well.. I have 228 wisdom but I am in the process of getting pos mana items and keeping my wis the same . I was told that the new cap is 255 wis but I see far more of an improvment in overall mana with pos mana items than wis items at 200 plus... any one know the answer conclusivly

but my rogue won't be using them for now since I'm using SCHW. I'll toss them on my semi-twink bard for the time being. I'm not going to bother giving them to my 40 druid. Yeah, the AC is nice but if you're good at aggro control you won't be getting hit often.

To the people who say Druids shouldnt't roll on these gloves-

First of all, 20ac is good for melee classes at this level. For a druid, clad in mostly leather class armor, it is godlike. This is some of the best armor druids can get and I have seen many wear it 55+. The melee have mostly gotten better by then. This is pretty much the only decent ac armor druids can get before 55. Also 35 mana is very nice, especially at the level when most have 200+ wisdom, and in a slot that historically has lacked mana/wis for the druid class.

Why would a druid want ac? Well, if he is hunting in Velks, chances are, he's a grouping druid, not a soloing druid. Grouping druids get aggro just like other casters. Dots and snares can generate quite a bit of hate, not to mention attempts at ghetto crowd control. Sometimes, druids need to take over the role of the main healer (either because there isn't a cleric, they died, or they are getting beaten on. Clerics can manage the aggro from healing fairly well wearing plate armor and using invulnerability spells. Druids can't.

I agree that if all the tanks, hybrids, and other priests dont have better, everyone should roll. There is no reason why a druid shouldn't roll. Much exp and raid time is spent indoors by grouping druids, where they can't always use speed to escape aggro.

I can tell you that if these dropped, and the main tank needed them you wouldn't be rolling for JACK sh*t.

(N.B. I apologise for posting above my intended reply. My reply is meant for the post below mine, not the one above mine. Sorry).

For one thing, the person clearly said that if the melee's and hybrids did not have better, it should go to them, and if they did have better, then it was fair to give to the druid, and I have to agree with that. I see nothing wrong with that.

As someone who has a level 40+ Ranger, Pally, Druid and Monk-- your argument is very flawed. Often, my druid (who is on another account) is left on as healer to my hybrid Ranger and Pally. The number of times the druid has gotten aggro from healing us is numerous. The amount of times they've died, is plentiful. So druids do get aggro, and very often, too. They also die real quick. If you are a disgruntled melee basing your argument on solely grouping with druids, I advise you to make one and not judge before you get them to a relatively high level. After all, if we all had alts of every class, we might even learn to tolerate each others class differences and faults.

Secondly, if you're using a NBG (Need Before Greed) system, then if anyone needs the item more than the druid (namely melee's, hybrids, etc), who does not have better, they of course would get the item, and that is fair enough. But if they do, and the next in line to use is the druid, and the druid is going to use the item, there is no reason why the druid should not get it.

If, on the other hand, you're using a FFA (Free For All) looting system then there is no reason why a druid shouldn't roll on it-- and the same with all party members, even people who can't use it -- because you're taking in the value of the item as a whole and not to a particular class or race. Therefore, a pure free for all roll is for everyone, but that is a different matter, and not, what the original poster said at all.

As it is, I bought mine, and that solves the whole big problem about who gets what.

(P.S. Again, I apologise for posting above my intended reply. My reply is meant for the post below mine, not the one above mine.)

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 09 2003 at 6:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) People like you **** me off. Compared to other classes, druids RARELY get aggro. Your entire argument over rolling for these gloves is based upon the ac/mana. You would honestly roll on this item when a melee could equip it? Another classic idiot who feels he should have his "fair share" of items, ******** melee out of a good shot at these. I can tell you that if these dropped, and the main tank needed them you wouldn't be rolling for JACK ****.
RE: please consider this
# Feb 23 2003 at 12:23 PM Rating: Good
People who don't know what the hell they're talking about **** me off. Rarely get aggro, eh? You obviously have not played a druid past level 10. Snares and heals can really **** mobs off, no matter how powerful they are. I don't know how many times I would have died because some worthless tank couldn't get a mob off me (and it should be easy since I "never aggro anything") if I didn't take the time to have decent ac and hp items, such as this. Druids have just as much right to it, And that's coming from somebody who has played a warrior and a druid to 50. If you're just mad because you can't even afford these gloves go whine somewhere else. And god knows how many times a tank rolls on some caster item that they couldn't possibly use at all, just to go sell it at the bazaar.

This will drop in XP group.

Its a Guild or Friends group. Choose what to do.

Its a pick up group. Its NOT a no drop item. Then all players have rights to roll on it as they all contributed to earn it. An who cares if they are going to sell it or wear it.

RE: please consider this
# Sep 25 2002 at 4:33 AM Rating: Decent
I have seen many wear it 55+. The melee have mostly gotten better by then

nobody get's much better pre NToV. So these, Barbed Ringmail Gloves, Coldain Skin Gloves and some other in that league are the best that most people will see. Melee or Priest. It's a shame that Velious Quest Gloves are crap for most classes (specialy Chain)

all u guys whining about nbg how they shouldnt go to a druid should keep quiet. at the end of the day, if group agrees nbg loot rules then fine, if not then thats the group decision. if u dont like it u can go look for another group. btw i am a warrior although i have a druid and i would love to have this for him cos all he got are split paw gloves. ac is good for warriors, but its good for everyone else too.

Decent gloves for any class...

... that doesn't have better. It sports a pretty spiffy look as well since they share the same texture as Guardian armor.

Anyhoo, I see absolutely no reason why any useable class that don't have better should be exempt from roll. Mana bonuses add up like HP bonuses do for melee classes.

Know your role and shut the hell up.

This is a nice piece of armor that'll last any melee till the beginning of the end-game. Level 55 Shadow Knights still wear these guantlets. They are silvery white colored and basically goes around 4kpp on Povar. Next step up is Velious Quest armor or Planar armor. Looking to buy ona these but just blew all my money on Fungi and AP. Hope this helps.

These own the hell out of PoF armor and are better than PoG as well... I'd take em over Thurg quest w/o thinking twice too. Would take kael/skyshrine quest gaunts or blood runed or something outta ToV to beat these imho.

What is with all of you people always arguing who should be able to equip what. If someone has them they can do with what they please...every person plays there class different and can do what they want. Sure these would be great for my sk but SO WHAT!! Why would i post on here about who these would be good for?!?!? If you have info on item then post...if you have questions about item then post. Why are you arguing about AC?!!? Some of you people are soo bored. I look at this site for info not everyone's opinion about an item.

I used to have these gauntlets on my Druid, but I acquired Gauntlets of iron tactics and handed these off to my Rangerette.
The stats really help her and the plus 35 mana is a great added bonus. But this item is so versatile, I can see different classes wanting it.

Wow, this guy is clueless. I pray for all of norath he never plays a shaman. Hey killer, high level shaman normally hover around 150 wis bwecause we take tons of hits from our nice high aggro spells (slow ect) and after debuffing we hop into melee. the 35 mana is just a bonus, I would wear these with just the str and AC. Thanks for you opinions though, very quaint.

So, Thanks for your opinion though, very quaint as you put it.

I know I shouldn't bother to say anything, but I ... just ... can't ... resist! ^_^

- - - - -

Anytime I form a group, I call for a consensus of all the current members on loot rules. Anytime I join a group, I ask "/g What loot rules?" <I should just hotkey that ^_^ >

When you are grouped with like 2 to 5 other strangers (presumably outside of your guild), whatever loot rules you have consented to among the members of that group apply. End of story.

If you and the other strangers decide on NBG, good.

If you and the other strangers decide on random of all droppables, good.

If you and the other strangers decide on "Ninja Loot Everything", good.

Alpha Loot? Master Loot? "Killing Blow" Loot? Whatever is agreed upon is good.

The members of your group are in NO WAY obligated to just hand over a handsome piece of treasure to the most deserving or to the party member who can make the most use of the item. Remember, they are strangers who a) don't know you and b) are ALLOWING you to be with them in their xp/farming endeavors.

Half the time, the ones whining about "Need Before Greed!" are the same dishonest sh*theads trying to pull a fast one. Everyone is a comedian, weatherman, critic and con artist. Trust no one.

So what if the party cleric won 3 Lamentations, or the warrior won that spiffy Int +20 robe? The loot is your / their just reward for risking life and limb in the first place. In the end, it doesn't matter who wins the loot ... sooner or later, it WILL wind up on a character who'll make full usage of it.

So, make sure you are clear on the agreed-upon loot rules when first joining / forming a party. People who are not happy with the loot rules of a group should simply and quietly leave said group.

damnit you idiot if it was pure NBG then no tank would go too caster friendly drops cause they would not get anything so it is not selfish if you want pure NBG group with your guild or friends.

I have never heard it said in quite that way, but I could not agree more. Although I prefer NBG groups myself, I concur that whatever loot rules pickup groups agree to are just fine. Besides, if wizzys didnt loot lammys once in a while, there wouldnt be so easy to get in EC =)

Hello dear

I can only tell you that they look yellow in color on my hands. I would presume, from my faded memory of me wearing CC arms long ago, that a half-elf in CC Armour would look very much like a plate class. The armour if I recall right is a shiny reflection, softer yellow-gold in colour, and would look rather snappy as a complete set.

However, I think it might prove to be rather difficult to collect an entire set of this armour. Other than the gloves, shoes and the arms, the rest of the armur drops in areas that are less frequently camped.

If you do manage to collect an entire suit shoes, arms gloves BP and legs, I would suggest you take a snapshot and send it here.

Happy hunting

SHM want this item as well.... its the best AC item in hands slot for SHM in the game save for ToV, planar, and other very high end stuff. By very high end i mean around 58-60. These its feasible to buy in EC by the time you are 40. And if not bought then killed by anyone 49+
Great Druid Gauntlets
# Aug 14 2001 at 4:04 PM Rating: Decent
Some of you may whine because some of us druids have friends or guildmates that actually don't mind their druids having AC armor. I was given mine by a guildmate that offered them up through guild chat to anyone in the guild that needed them. Being a druid (hence crappy AC gear) I jumped at the opportunity and none of my other guildmates minded at all. Heck, they all get decent AC armor.

These are some of the best AC guantlets available: far better than almost any that are druid only. With the +35 mana I had no problem getting rid of my Splitpaw gloves. Combine these gauntlets with my Icepaw War Claw that the same person gave me from the same raid, and sometimes people don't even recognize me as a druid.

It really is nice to have guild that cares more about the quality of the items it's members are wearing than they are about the amount of money they could make off an item that they don't need.

So, all you people that don't think druids should have AC, remeber that when you need to be evac'd but we can't get the spell off because we are getting wacked to death before you pull the MoB off.

I think I might tend to disagree on this one. If more of your tanks had these gauntlets then maybe you'd be evacing less often. You obtained them in a fair manner, but in a group rolling on these, I can't possibly understand a druid ever "Needing" these more than a melee or enough to be deserving of a roll.

Imagine druids with 200 ac i wonder if they could survive 5 secs with agro in that place? nah ,nope, not a chance. All classe need ac or would rather have melees with 1.5k+ac and caster/priest with 300ac?

"I can't possibly understand a druid ever "Needing" these more than a melee or enough to be deserving of a roll."

Are you insane? Anyone who is of the level to BE in that area has EVERY right to roll on those. AC is needed by everyone. If these were actually wearable by any other class not included I would have no problem with them equiping these. And i can guarantee that if you actually had the ordasity to say such a thing that you would quickly find yourself one less party member, possibly more since Clerics and Shaman are not MELEE either.

OK, let me clarify. If all the melees, clerics, and high agro people in a group have sufficient AC in the hand slot, then a Druid should have every right to roll on an item such as this. But to take an item from a deserving player who has a MUCH greater need for AC is only self defeating in the long run. In addition, I don't know any intelligent casters who would want to have higher AC at the expense of their front line so that they would run a greater risk of needing an evac or a Res. I guess this comes from an experience of playing in a NBG (Need Before Greed) manner, which you seem to be lacking from your comment,

"Anyone who is of the level to BE in that area has EVERY right to roll"

I wouldn't suggest playing in a selfish manner for long, you'll find the number of your friends in EQ shrinking and the number of groups refusing you admittance growing.

I was wearing Coldain Skin Gloves. Those can be sold now.
