But it is a CHAIN item, which is no-no for dr00ds... druids don't need AC anyway, you just snare stuff and run around at your leisure... This is a good shaman item, esp for the one frequently told to "Go Malsement and Slow that Ubermob"
I have this on 2 chars now ; ) The price is WAY inflated but you can usually get it okay in trades since quite a few came into existence when he was a 30 minute spawn who was always camped.
I traded a 3 wis belt all all, to a druid for the one my cleric is wearing and looted the legs from the single oracle. With my sk troll i got lucky, guy wanted to trade the rygorr legs for darkforge legs and he had the battle mail also. I talked him into trading the battlemail for the darkforge bp and wurmslayer which I'm not really that keen on anyway. My sk doesn't have an fbss and mostly uses her 22 spd 9 dam smoldering brand since its fast.
I guess he figured his dark elf would be better off with darkforge, but I really love the set of rygorrs on my troll sk. Now i just need the bracers to complete the set. Kinda more plain looking on a troll female than my female dark elf (dark elf female is kinda silver chain with a blue flame on the front and back while troll female is kinda silver with a leather skirt like thing around the waist and a medallion on the chest, not as troll - evil like as I'd hoped but still fun ; ) )
I wouldn't say it's a fixed timer for this item. The party I was in had 2 Chiefs spawn within 10 minutes of each other. We had just looted the second one of these when we got overrun by Avengers. Sadly, I lost both rolls for it. :(
I think that they reworked the timing on it, yes, but now it seems to be more erratic.
Personally, I think it looks just -weird- on dwarves, like some kind of silver-blue leather leisure suit. Dark Elves look tight in Rygorr, and human females look excellent... had my pally girl in this until I retired her.
On half elves, it just looks like.. uhm, well.. see for yourself. Very strange. Cool in a very weird way, like the Wurmslayer.
I don't have bp but I have legs and arms. They look like very very fine chain ..much more dense than banded with red markings on them and also have leather straps...color is bright silver.
I'm level 34, and messed with the Ry'Gorr. Chief was hitting myself and the 41 warrior with us for 172. Couple that with the avengers sometime spawning after the chief goes down, and you have yourself a real mess on your hands.
Bah i am 30 i soloed a scout it never even got close enough to touch me i did this in middle of watse lands also dodging giants as i went was too easy fell like sack of wet potatoes and i didnt even use the pet on him
dont get your panties in a wad, you knew when you picked a monk youd never wear metal armor. Just because its light doesnt mean its should be auto monk.. other classes can use some weight reduction too. Im glad they left monk off, now i dont have to put up with "oh its so light, monks should get first shot at it"
Take your own advice, anon-guy, monks have a weight restriction, NOT a 'plate restriction'.
I am /randoming on that Phase Spider Carapace, miffed that monks can't wear the even-lighter Queen's Carapace.
Even an Idiot can see that the Velious expansion has been lacking, if not out-and-out cruel, for the Monk class. Eg- Cougar Claw earrings weigh 0.5 each, while almost ALL other earrings weigh 0.1 (All other jewelry for that matter). =/
Monks can, and do, (and should) wear metal armor; they are tanks, and are every bit as AC_gear- dependant as warriors and rogues and hybrids.
Point in closing- even the Monk Epic Quest is armor... and rather pathetic, considering the AC and the fact that CF's have *even* 0.1 weight.

A Warrior is a tank, they are meant to have the highest AC items and the most hitpoints, because they are meant to take damage. Monks are not meant to take damage, they are meant to give it. Thats why you see monks out damaging warriors. Two very different classes. If monks had as much AC as warriors, there would be no need for warriors..hey why dont we just give monks pets and nukes and heals and teleporting? sheesh
It sounds like you have played for a while, but you don't really have a handle on recent developments... check www.monkly-business.com
Monks are both, guy (tanks and damage dealers), and they should *probably* have a higher AC than Warriors, because they do NOT have NEARLY the same hit-point pool.
"If monks had as much AC as warriors, there would be no need for warriors.."
LoL!
Wake up, guy, what has IN FACT happened is that Warriors have been given weapons as good, and BETTER, than monks, and allowed a levelling (experience) bonus- which has left Monks alot less-desirable in high-level EXP groups.
Human Monk fists at level 60 = 14/26 (IKS 14/27) Average Warrior Sword at Level 60 = 12/24

So you give your name..and?? And where do you get the idea Monks should be wearing Plate?? I would LOVE to see a Martial Arts display where those giving the display All wore Plate-mail armors--Even Light Aluminum Plate--Let's see how well that round house goes off..or even simple moves--No Monks were NOT ment to wear Plate armors..Much less even chain types. Yes monks have a wt restriction, they also have a "restriction" restriction...Ie..cannot think of anything More restricting to movement Than a nice clankey suit of Plate-Mail..Light or Not...
Holliana Thicketfury 40th Druid- Queynos Server
Ohh-Who here really considers Monks tanks>>? Yes, They can deal out some nice damage at high levels...of course so can a Wizard, does not make them tanks...Ok-ok well Monks have it pretty good in the Hit-point department, and can dodge pretty good(at times I suppose.)..But compare a monk to a Warrior post 50, or even a Pally or Sk..Sadly<although mabye not--Rangers have more to complaine about it appears to me>even the for mentioned rangers... Yes Monks are the Absolute And Only when it come's to pulling..but Once that critter has arrived it has always appeared essential for the actual "tanks" to taunt -whatever- off said Monk. Now I am not saying that monks cannot handle Any toe-to-toe meele, I am just saying the other, more well known as "tank" classes can take blows/absorb more damage over a greater length of time with taking less damage or needing less heals than the others..I mean after all..IF a Monk Could tank as well as the others..then what real need would there be for those classes to exist.. I know you like and enjoy your class..but really, let's stay realistic and not get all defensive when someone else voices their opinion. I could complaine about the armor's that have been availbe to Druid's, yes tis very true..tanks we are not..but Ac still counts just as much for us, as believe it or not, we get hit and die just as often (well maby not as oft =P ) you Monkies do.......but why bother-- the trick of the game is to do the best you can with what tools are avialbe to you.. I have seen 60 Monks on my server..Im betten they are on all--even the newest server; most likely by now. So Im gussing it's possible to get by If whatever class you play is done so with some thought, creativity, add in some time-tested advice from those who have been there before, and of course.. toss in a little sense of humor<Or Alot>.. and remember.. It Is A Game!!!

Monks, I love ya, I even have a baby monk at 8th, but SHADDUP! <smack!> You already outdamage warriors, you can get sweet weapons for much less than us, you can mend, you can actually fight effectively if you don't have the cash for weapons, you can bind wounds to a higher percentage of HP, and you get a lot of other nice features.
