Your gonna kill me. But i bought two of these off an npc merchant in the Bazaar for 300 plat. Yes there Flawless I checked. The going rate on Morden Rasp is 5k right now for one of these. Of course Morden Rasp is 3 weeks old and everything there is new.
Is the Flawless diamond still the gem needed? I heard they changed the quest gem for the BP.
On a almost trivial sidenote, another wonderful place to get BP gemmies is in the Sleeper's Tomb. Sadly though, by the time you are hunting in ST, more than likly, you no longer need the gem . :-(
However, the guilds that do raid here often sell gemmies found here to help defray the cost of Peridots and other expendible gemmies. Look for their vendours in the bazaar

Best place to get these is the siren enticers in sirens grotto. Just take care not to aggro the nearby elemental. The enticer only hits for around 60 to 70, but is an enchanter so you get charmed and what not. Buff up magic resist. You should get one flawless diamond about every 2 hours of hunting plus other gems like the pristine emerald. You can either hold out for the flawless diamond or just accumulate all the gems and buy your left over flawless in the bazaar.
siren is gimp. Hardest part is getting to her camp. Sea horses dont follow you out of the water though so you just have to make it there. Easiest way is to succor accross the zone and then swim down the tube.

In Velk's Lab, if you look under bestiary in Illia's Bestiary. If you click on the Crystal Fang you'll see that it has been known to drop the Flawless Diamond. Here are a few more mobs known to drop the gem: Velium Stalker, Crystal Shard, Crystalline Hunter, and so on. For levels, pretty high. Go and find out if you want. Hope ppl will stop being so darn rude now. And wish everyone luck in getting this gem. :P

One of these dropped off The Brood Mother today in DEEP pits, I won it. She rampages and quads for 260, I had about 1100ac at the time.
back when i was lvl 52ish my i won a thurg bp from killing in the arena of kael i went out to seek my 3 flawless diomonds and will 2 days later i got em all
1st traded a crushed black marble
2nd traded a blue diomond
3rd traded GEBs
(the BD i had was from tradeing a guildmate a crushed black marble for his boots he got the same day i got my bp)
total cost to me the 2500pp i spent on the GEBs 4 days prior to twinkl my shammy....

Where is most common drop for the flawless diamond?please tell me

Just fyi I have 3 flawless diamonds and obtained all of these in Velks Lab in Velious doing the Broodmother camp every day for a week.. Approximately 2 - 3 would drop every day in that camp and generally you have 2 - 3 melee in group so all works well. This camp is a 55+ camp and you NEED a 59+ puller to survive as the spiders there hit well in the 200's which aint 2 bad once slowed but will drop the puller in no time with 2 or more.
I have also been hunting in Sirens grotto a bit lately and seen a few drop there off random mobs and been told they are more common in SG than in Velks..
Have a full set of gems now, time to hit ToV for a few weeks strait..

Drops in: Dragon Necropolis off rats, Siren's Grotto off siren seductresses, Velketor's Labyrinth off Velk and in Doljin area.

i think it was bugged loot tables causing flawless diamonds to drop in some of the places mentioned here. Bugs which are fixed now i think... only place i've seen them drop is velketor's labyrinth, siren's grotteo, dragon necropolis, and possibly in icewell keep (below the castle in the well)

hey where in cobalt scar did you get so many flawless diamonds in an hour? and are you sure they are flawless diamonds? that's almost too good to be true...
Leveling in CS off otters I never saw any BP gems drop from anything in the zone. You have to go to a Velious dungeon to get the bp gems. Saw plenty of "imperfect diamonds" and the like. Course they prolly nerfed it since then.

I lvled there for 1 hour yesterday and got about 2 of each flawless.. including diamond and a few chipped and crushed also. CS is mainly where all the good stuff drops

Posted: May 15 2001 at 2:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok to clear things up QUITE a bit these gems are dropped by random mobs all over i have seen flawless gems of every kind from velius to odus (almost artifact in drop off newby mobs) if you cannot camp the mobs yourself or even a group of similar lvl you have no need for this also there are quests for random gems using ulthork tusks you can get them that way too for the armor pieces for this quest and others look to opposing factions DUH

Well for everyone that is looking for Flawless Diamonds. I know that they do drop in Kael Drakkel too. If that helps. I was there, and I was not hunting yet. Anyways my friend came running to me and told me that he got diamonds (flawless) ones. So he went back and got 3 Diamonds in about 3 1'2 hours. Off of the giants

If my aging memory can recall this corrsctly the gems are random drops from any 45+ mob in velious and some other parts of Norrath.

Ok so the flawless diamond drops in different places right?.So where would the easiest place to get it?any suggestions?My guild is lvls 20+-50+.

well fyi the place you get these the easiest are always the places where the drop rate is most rare
you can get questgems off Wyvern in CS (no faction loss and easy) but the drop rate there is awefull OR you go to IWK where you need at least 2 good groups, with a nice drop rate there on most gems, OR you go to DN or WW where you need a raid-like setup.
Basicaly Gems drop of most mobs lvl 45+ all over Velious, the harder the zone, the better and more frequent the gems. btw with better i mean the part it goes for with wrist prolly the easiest and chest the toughest part.
Flawless Diamonds are extremly rare drops in the easier places and IWK is considered easy for that.
For all other gems, spiked suits in WL do have a fairly nice drop rate (and thus are obviously ever-camped) and can be done pretty easy with a group around 50. (great exp as well ;o)

flawless diamonds are a fairly rare drop of a mob (can't remember which one) in the dragon necropolis on velius
