Not much
# Nov 02 2003 at 8:22 PM Rating: Default
DPM= Damage Per Minute
DPS= Damage Per Second

This isnt much of an upgrade from the treant fists. Take a look for yourself and note this: Dmg bonus is a big difference. And its based on the weapons Delay as well as your current level.
At level50 (which was the max at that era)
From the Delay of 15-27 the DMG bonus is 9, and from the delay of 28-39 the DMG bonus is 13.
With that you'll notice that the treant fists are
14/28 with the DMG bonus of 13.
While these fists are
16/27 with the DMG bonus of 09.

Useing Luthair's DMG calculator, found here: http://www.geocities.com/luthairsite/weaponCalc.html
I tested the two with 0% haste.

These 16/27 Fists:
DPS:18
DPM:1089
Primary: Max DMG(1 hit):81 Minimum DMG(1 hit):11

The 14/28 Treant Fists:
DPS:16
DPM:1008
Primary: Max DMG(1 hit):76 Minimum DMG(1 hit):14

--Total Difference--
DPS: 2
DPM: 81
--------------------
Notice that the Minimum Damage on the Treant fists was 3 more than these fists =) There for its possible or very likely that each hit you do, is slightly higher than the random hit these fists would do, But being that these have an extended MAX hit, somewhat makes up for it.

All in all these arent much of an upgrade =( it's disapoint because it makes me wonder if it was actually ment to be like that, or didnt they test weapons very well when they put them in and calculate the possible dps on all of them.

So if there are any monks out there that only have the treant fists and havent completed the quest like myself, dont worry your not missing much =x

More information on DMG bonuses can be found here, which is where i found mine =x:http://lucy.fnord.net/dmgbonus.html

Btw, if you compare the chart to these weapons, you'll notice that at level65 (yes, if you were that sad on gear and had to choose between these) the treant fists would be MUCH Better because of the heafty DMG bonus, with that they add roughly 300-400 more DPM.

peace~

I don't know what kind of thigns you folks that say everything is LAME might have, but look at these....16/27...thats 1.7 ratio....and NO, these aren't anywhere near KD's so stop comparing everything to them. These hit harder and faster and weigh less. Is it worth the raid it takes to get pieces? That's your call. I say yes.

Value is in the eyes of those who seek the item, not those who view it online....

have you even been to PoA??? ok first off to even get into zone, you need a raid force of preferably 24 people. later on you will need to port more and more people up as the islands get harder, which is costly. you need two regeant stones per 4 peopel coming up and a coffin for each. stones cost 120pp, and coffins 170 usually. that is just to get into zone. i have done PoA several times now, and the things you need for this quest are brass knuckles, emerald amethyst and a nebulos sapphire, none of which have yet to drop. SO for what was 3k(prices went way down frmo PoP) and is now 1k, get a KD. or if you are so hell bent on going to PoA to get this, you will at least get the Whitened Treant Fists, 14 28 no stats weighs less then KD and has cooler graphic. we let a few pair of these rot because they drop like candy. you say "Is it worth the raid it takes to get pieces? That's your call. I say yes." maybe you should check out PoA and get back to me. save up your 1k folks and get a KD.

Didn't they fix it so Mages can now COH pple in PoA?

COH is alot cheaper than the old corpse summon.

LAME
# Jul 18 2002 at 11:23 PM Rating: Default
I think these are lame, from what I have seen these are relatively hard to get. For 3k you can get KD which is almost the same ratio. You can easily save up 5k and gey a better 1hb or h2h, I say dont waste your time.
Level 46?
# Dec 04 2001 at 7:36 AM Rating: Default
It says recomended level is 46, I've never been to the planes so does this sound like a resonable level to be before trying to get these fists?
RE: Level 46?
# Jan 18 2002 at 12:54 PM Rating: Decent
hehe it says 46 because you need to be 46 to enter the planes. Altough despite your level it will take a raid to get you all these pieces. if you try to get one of these it will be hard, but is also worth it.
Monks are being left out
# Nov 27 2001 at 4:06 AM Rating: Default
All of the weapons given out to all the other classes in the PoA have nice stats to go with them. Why are monks being left out?

And another thing, why lore? If they're going to ditch us on stats then at least make it not lore. I'm probably going to get one of these before I even go to sebelis for a KD.

They could be asking for price info on the FV server. Even planes gear isn't NODROP, and yes, I've seen planes gear auctioned, just not these. I haven't seen an asking price on these, but almost everything from the planes I've seen sold was between 20kpp and 50kpp, sometimes more. Heehee ~ log into FV and do a /join market.

The bazaar on FV is insane, Heavy Windriders lance for 5k and Narandi's lance for 10k, what kind of sense does that make?

You also see neat stuff like Primal Velium weapons that proc avatar, and things like Greenmist in the bazaar. You'll see Skyshrine armor, all the newer ornate armors are droppable, etc.
