Dragons of NorrathDo any of you see any text confirming the orb is working; a 'shimmers briefly' or 'flickers with a pale light' etc?
I ask because I don't see any such messages relating to the orb when making a 66 air pet.

I just picked this up for my lvl 70 mag.. On my first use of it, seemed ok... Then handed my pet hi weapons and BAM , pet don't have swords in hand, figure'n it's a bug/patch problem, so i zoned a few times... still no weapons in hand... I'm hope'n it' a bug.... So i sent the pet to kill a few things and have'nt seen any wapons proc... yet.. Not a good thing i'm think'n, i'll try it on a few differen pets and see it only will work on certain pets... the word CERTAIN is in the spell effects... so if this only works on 1 pet, i vote to not waste your crystals.

I just got mine today and the same thing happened. No weapon graphics or procs. My pet does hit for more (120 max that I saw with 66 Air pet), but I need the procs too. It's gotta be a bug and I hope they fix it soon because as of right now it's pretty much worthless.

Ok, after playing with it a bit I found that I only had problems when I gave my pet anything besides the weapons first. So if you give your pet Plate or something besides weapons and he won't equip the weapons, just kill it, summon a new one and give him the weapons first. He should equip and proc them normally.

No kidding. I keep expecting to see a patch msg saying they've corrected this obvious oversight and others like it. Although I have the LDoN pet-focus aug (Summoner's Boon), I'd like to get this upgrade. But I too am only 67.
Another example of this inanity is the Volcanic Spellslinger's Stone: an Improved Damage V aug.... with a req lvl of 70! What exactly are DD casters supposed to do from 66 to 70 as their ID4 declines in usefulness? Hope for crits?
Maybe they'll fix this error soon.

The *required* levels on some of the DoN gear surprises me. This one in particular. Seems this item should have been the high-end replacement for the LDoN DPoC aug.... thus a *recommended* level of 70 would grow you into the stats, but a *required* level of 65, 66, or 67 would make more sense and allow you to get a pet aug through DoN at a reasonable level rather then having to wait til L70.
Let's face it, if you say "LDoN" to someone these days you can almost hear the groan at the other end. Don't get me wrong - I've done the DPoC (what a slog), but now that my mage is using 66+ pets and is not L70 yet it (and is not guilded) his asperations <sp> of getting a further enhanced pet are pretty much nil til 70.

I agree completely. It almost seems like SOE wants to nudge people to grinding to level 70. I saw this item when I was a 66 mage working on various AA. Now I'm halfway through 67 and still grinding just so I can get this damn item. Never mind that I still don't quite have all my 66 spells, or that I have NO 67 spells. I'm just plugging my way to 70 so my pet can be further focused.
Last night I had enough crystals to get this, but I don't see the point since I won't be able to use it till I'm 70, so I blew them on my 61 spell and a mana regen aug instead. I'm sure I'll have PLENTY of time to do more DoN missions before I get to 70.
