I got one today after 45 minutes of killing orcs in Highpass Hold (by the Kithicor zoneline) - the named orc spawned and dropped it first time. It's perfect for MMM light blue container funrun... for those without a pocket cleric or the ability to FD.

You obviously havnt tried this.

Sure the mage gets down safely.

But.. he cant COTH anyone down into the hole as it is a different zone to up top from where you jump.

this item would make the NPC that Druids and Rangers need to talk to in the Hole easier to get to... hand it to a mage and have them use the entrance that causes instant death... then CoTH everyone else down...

Yup - this is my favorite way to raid the hole. I grab one of these sweeties before the raid, pop it on, jump in the Hole and start summoning the raid.

No offense, seriously wondering...but why would a mage need a DA item to jump in the Hole? Summon an instant click lev ring and the minute you are done zoning, activate the ring and you are fine.

Or am I missing something - like no lev in The Hole (it's been so long since I did anything there).

I know bard lev takes too long to activate, as well as anyone elses cast lev. But the lev rings are insta-cast - I thought, anyway.

***** all this lev and DA talk. You don't need a single "item" to survive the fall. You zone in, look down and see the floor coming at you, "/q" a split second before you hit. You go LD, your NPC self you instantly created does not take the falling damage, you log back in alive and well.

I've done this a number of times. Course it would be considered an exploit I'm sure, so I wouldn't recommend the entire raid force knowing about it and doing it all at once. Might look a little suspicious. Just do it once with the mage, and CoTH the rest down.

Hmm, you have done this several times? And CoTHed the raid down after. So how did you get back into the group, in order to CoTH them down.

As soon as you /q ed out, you lost your group, so even if the fall didn't kill you, you're alone, ungrouped at the bottom of the hole, with no way to get a group invite, and therefore no way to CoTH anyone down.

Care to elaborate?
RE: application
# Feb 01 2005 at 1:47 PM Rating: Default
Could have a cleric in group DA down the hole with you. Log back in, group invite from cleric, voila. Just have to make sure cleric survives any mobs that might be in the room while you're gone.

i had one of these...

i got it in a trade, a very good trade the more i learn about the items i got.

well, neither of us knew what the effect of divine aura was...

i held onto it for a while, then when i was setting up in the bazaar one day i checked the price on it... it was around 1k... the prices ranged from 800 to 1.1k, so i set mine to 750 i think.

anyways, before i had gone afk for the night this bad boy had been sold.

it has been a while since i played my cleric, and now that i have looked up what the effect is i remember how many times that invuln spell saved my ***... wish i had kept it and bought some mana batteries... oh well...

so, if you get one, don't be so quick to sell it.

i guess the only other information that can be gleemed from this post is pricing data...

on the karana server these sell for around 1k give or take 100plat...

good luck everyone

It's not rechargeable and it disapears after you use it so it is a one shot deal.

You were probably better of selling it and use the plat to upgade your gear.

Id have to say yes to the res/fight/idol question. The reason is you can act in all normal ways, you just cant fight or be hit. You can not be hurt from falls or anyhting. A great place to use it,in the same zone, is when getting the testament of vaneer. You fight the guy, and go to loot, sometimes that 50+ something smuggler jumps you, you click it... and run off the ledge to the 3 rogues and zone into the keep.

There was a change however. The second version of this spell for a cleric was changed for a while. It took quite a bit longer to cast, and had a damage shield. It was around this time THIS version of the spell was altered also. The mobs now recognize they can not hit you, and will basically flee from you. It used to be they would stay on you and keep trying to hit you.

They went ahead and changed the second version again, this time to a invulnerable and a heal over time - HOT. This original version, staying somewhat altered.

So its kind of changed. The mobs dont FLEE but rather run out, like when someone else grabs the agro. The problem is, if they grab say the warrior, you can not cast while the effect is on.

Time until you're out when you /q?
# Jul 16 2002 at 3:59 PM Rating: Good
Since this has turned into a discussion of the effectiveness of Divine Aura, I figured I'd post my question while we're on the subject.

From reading these posts, I understand that you can't fight or cast while the DA effects are active, but can you camp or /q?

When raids turn ugly and the clerics need to get out, it seems like this idol with its instacast version of Divine Aura might be perfect for clerics who need the extra 18 seconds to get out.

Since it's a cleric spell, I figure a wise cleric should be able to tell me if you can camp or /q after casting Divine Aura. If so, I will give the Idol I've been saving since level 18 to the epic cleric the next time we do CT.

Truthfully, I would've destroyed it long ago except I thought it was my Goranga Idol. The icon is the same.
RE: Time until you're out when you /q?
# Aug 27 2002 at 6:18 PM Rating: Decent
well 18 seconds is 18 seconds even if your LD. If you decide to /q when you have 17 seconds left, you have 17 seconds of invulnerbility.

as for camping out, sure you can - fopr the first 18 seconds. after that if a mob or AE hits you, you automaticly stand up again. Dont forget you cannot cast while having DA on, no harmshield, no divine barrior, etc and you cant cast when you are sitting.

the only real way that i can think of in which a cleric really needs to get out but is in the middle of a firefight is if he/she cast DA, sits down and camps, right when it ends (and you have to time this perfectly) a bard cast group DA and the cleric is protected for another 18 seconds.
Fear raids

this item is invaluable for fear reaids. you get to player each with and idol and they can pull the intire castle with sow and than kite while groups peel off mobs and kill at will. These are worth 900pp each for a fear raid easy

Insane!
# Sep 27 2001 at 9:41 PM Rating: Default
People on Veeshan are insane. I got one of these and now I'm hoping to sell it for 100-200pp. The funny thing is NO ONE WANTS TO HAGGLE! I start off with a high price and they say 'That's ok' or 'You're crazy!' Last guy I got to haggle offered me 25pp for it saying that it was not worth that much. Do people not realize that this is a common drop from a VERY VERY RARE SPAWN?!? I camped the Orcs in Highpass for FOUR DAYS and only saw 3 of the named orcs. Shiny Brass Halberd dropped twice and this dropped once. If this thing is so worthless why don't you see them all over the place? Those that have the means and the patience to camp stuff like this should expect to set thier price for thier time and effort.

You need to auction in high level zones. To a level 20, this seems fairly worthless, becuase dying is common, and doesn't cost you that much. However, for a lvl 50+ who likes to solo, or goes on raids, this item could be priceless. If you're a caster, and overnuke, this gives the tanks time to peel (and actually decreases your hate, according to a recent patch message), or are soloing a necro,or mage, and pet dies too soon, and you've overpulled, (or tryiong to solo any other class, for that matter) <click> time to get to zone. Considering the cost of a 96% exp rez, or even worse, a corpse run to the planes, this item is certainly worth several hundred plat.

Necros have Harmshield, which is their own exact version of DA, although this item would save a spell slot and has instant cast.

Unfortunately, by the time death really becomes painful and therefore ideal for this item, you're rarely hunting within 18 seconds of a zone break. Although I've had Harmshield for over 30 levels now, it's my experience that it simply gets me 18 seconds closer to the zone before I die.
RE: Insane!
# Sep 03 2002 at 10:51 PM Rating: Default
its also 18 seconds to get to a better place to die or if you run when you have low hp, its 18 seconds of that MOB not smacking your back as you running like hell or evacing out (does evac even work if you have this? i don'yt mean if you try to cast evac, but if it is cast on you?) anyways, necros have ways of getting out of danger besides this too, FD, gate, shadow step, and some others ones, not to metion your pet whihc can add several seconds onto your life if a kite or something goes sour, found that out with my chanter, still died but was closer to neriak in a area i knew, anyways, this is good item to get

blah blah blah, read other post for toons and levels

Evac will not work while DA is up. No spells, beneficial, or harmful, can be cast on you while DA is going. As far as being more than 18 seconds from the zone, it may be true that this won't save you very time, but it will save you SOME of the time. Particularly, I've noticed that as you run to the zone from deep in some dungeons, the pathing will often help you get away, as mobs will peel for no reason, and take the long way. I HAVE survived before, due to DA.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 12 2001 at 4:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well, you're a fool, DA, in most cases, only stalls your death for 18 seconds.
RE: Insane!
# Dec 09 2001 at 3:17 PM Rating: Decent
18 seconds can be a lifetime when your in the blender with 4 reds and your within eyesight of the zone or gaurds...
RE: Insane!
# Nov 21 2003 at 7:22 PM Rating: Decent
Lets see with 18 seconds of invulnerability I have been able to escape escape from Velks (jump from the top shelf is a major rush), Permafrost (Vox Raid), Seb (trained from zone in to first floor zone out), KC (warlord room), and several camps in guk. DA/DB is very handy even if it is only 18 seconds. I would bet this item is used more for pulling difficult mobs rather then escaping difficult pulls. Most monks feel a lot better about pulling ubah_mob_x in ubah_loot_zone-y when they have one of these. They can FD and /q out when DA is up.

I have found that highbies will pay a crazy amount for this item in Gfay. I had one and thought it only went for 20 plat, i saw a highbie auction'ing to buy the item and i sent a tell asking how much he was willing to pay. He Said 700 plat. With a big grin i ran to him and made a good profit. Since then i've been farming 'em.

So far i've sold em for 700p 700p 900p and 500p. If you find the right buyer, they'll pay.

anyway i havent played for a while so dont quote me on this but i have noticed you dont get rewarded at all for saving a group member while i once helped someone in Eastcommons and got some fairly nice armour for it basicaly dont take your group members for granted or they may turn in to @$$ holes

Divine Aura is a cleric spell that gives about 10 seconds of Invulnerability. You can't cast or fight while under its effects, but it is handy for making a quick run for it.
