Yeah. 75 in 3 hours isn't that far fetched if you have done it a handful of times and have a very clear path of leveling set up.

It costs so much because it is no longer dropped therefore presenting to soe long time EQ players that same type of aura that a rookie card may to some baseball card collectors... some may call this the EQ Mickey Mantle... There is currently one for sale on Drinal for 600K but I am not sure who the seller is as far as out of game contact would go
Neat toy

This item can make for an even more potentially deadly rival in the arena. Yes, you may lose hp pretty quickly, but if toss a heal over time on yourself or use a hot potion, it will make up for it, not to mention you can click and pile up your mana on the run if the situation were to call for it. Pretty nifty, I think.

Disabled in PoK, still works in the Bazaar. It's a shame they nerfed it in PoK. Worked great to regen mana while enchanting and imbuing stuff for tradeskills fast.

as of 6/13/06 patch, it was disabled from PoK now.

Apparently, allowing mana stones in PoK was a bug from making the zone available to all, regardless of expansions purchased. They just corrected it.

Well, imagine you are an out of mana wizard/druid. Use secondary bind where you are fighting, port to an old world zone, fill your mana and recall back. 2 minutes instead of 30 to med up.

Also works for clerics with a faithstone, although its not ideal, because you have to bind at the fight spot, faithstone home, then port back.

Well, i dunno what kind amana pool you have but on my wifes druid with about 10.5 k mana she gets it back in just a couple minutes...not 30

lol, i'd like to see a toon that regens 10k mana in a couple minutes. Wouldn't that be like 500 mana per tick regen?

Lets see, with Clairvoyance, SA and Maelin's methodical mind, sitting, with FT 20 and the 3 from AAs, i regen 92 mana per tick, with no bard in group.

That's 920 mana per minute. With a 13778 raid buffed mana pool, that is 15 minutes to med to full mana.

Now, that is assuming raid mana buffs. In an exp group, there is a decent chance that I will not have SA, and I will be using KEI or potions. That reduces mana regen sitting or horsed to 78. That raises regen to full time to Almost 18 minutes. Make it an indoor zone, where i might be using yaulp instead of horse, and you end up over 20 minutes.

Perhaps 30 minutes was an exaggeration, but then it is less of one than saying "a couple" minutes to med up from OOM.

With the new "med up in 3 minutes" commming out, this thing will become useless, correct? Lose aggro, wait 30 seconds, med up to full in 3 minutes. Who needs a manastone or a manarobe?

This is true, to some degree, against group flagged mobs. However, when fighting raid mobs, the timer before you reach OOC status is 5 minuts, not 30 seconds. This still means that the appropriate classes with secondary recall can get some fast mana using the mana stone/robe.

Also, don't forget, if you're on a mount, you can chain click this, while staying in OOC mode, and convert the fast regenning HP into extra mana making the med up time less than 3 minutes, if in a zone where it works. Which means it'll be real useful for twinks, less so for mains.

The price for this is overthe top now, only cause it still only works on old-world zones, except they activated it to work in the Bazaar and PoK (geeThanks). Wish they would just activate it for all zones... and if anything, turn it into a noDrop. Me personally I have one, but it does me no good unless I want to create a new character... bah, no new characters needed... many AA's needed for main Mage.

However, since it does work in the revamped Splitpaw and revamped Mistmoore zones, I might be able to do some PL'n with it........ Still it should work in all expansions (that's just MHO)

# Feb 15 2005 at 1:10 PM Rating: Decent
This is the ultimite use for the manastone i've found...I have my 39 cleric(2nt account, same cpu) sit at a druid/wizzy portal, then dump my mana killing with druid/wizzy, port to the cleric, manastone/ch, gate back. You can do 51-60 levels(single levels of course) in less than 5 hours this way.

I'm sure you could find ways to do this with other classes...but wizzy/druid is the easiest.

I hope they dont take my manastone away now =)

I know for a Fact this works in Mistmoore even after the revamp. I hear it works in Splitpaw also. Once I make it to the Undead in Mistmoore I can easily solo and get decent AAs xp. I do what the shammys do best Root, Dot, HoT, and eat myself.-70cleric.

I can confirm that the Manastone does work in the new and revamped Splitpaw as well as in the revamped Mistmoore. I bought mine on Zeb for 200k before the revamp of these zones not expecting it to work after the changes to those zones, but sure enough they work. Wonder if the prices of these will go up now? lol

- Mana Robe works in PoTranq, but has 3 sec cast time.

- another use for it: Get the AAs that enable negative HP and amuse people by fainting in PoK bank. Over and over again.

RE: would rock for bards, but..

Yes does work for bards, but only adds 2 mana for level 45 bard.
RE: would rock for bards, but..
# Feb 17 2005 at 9:28 PM Rating: Decent
No instant/duration spells/songs will give a bard mana. This includes necro twitches and mod rods. Thus, a manastone will not give a bard any mana.

Someone on Torvonnilus has 7 for sale on his so-called 'dedicated' bazaar vendor. Go to the baz and do a search...he's the only one selling them, so far as I've seen.

I've wanted to get my hands on one of these for a while now, just to have. I'll probably just end up getting a manarobe instead, as these are so rediculously expensive and so rediculously useless. I guess it's sortof like Black Lotus in Magic the Gathering...something to be the most expensive thing in the game, might as well be the most useless and hard to get item. Better manastones be 700k than, say, Blue Diamonds or somesuch.

manastone

Where and who used to drop this item?
RE: manastone
# Sep 20 2004 at 2:52 AM Rating: Good
I believe years ago this used to drop off the Evil-Eye in Lower Guk. It was removed from the loot table because it's extremely overpowered. Consider a cleric with 4000hp. 4000/3= 1333 mana generated from his hp and 400 mana to CH himself. That nets 933 mana in less than 1 min. High-end clerics can easily get 6000+hp. Do the math.

Today, this has two key uses: 1) It makes powerlevling a breeze if you have a high level healer. Toss a cleric heal-over-time on a noob with this and you can regen your entire mana pool in seconds with barely any mana used by the healer. The cast time is instant, you can click this 5-6 times a second with typical lag. Since it works in old-world zones there are plenty of places to powerlevel to mid 50's very quickly with this. 2) LDoN Adventures. If a group wipes the cleric can generate massive amounts of mana just outside the zone-in. Run in, rez, heal, run out, manastone up, run in, buff, run out manastone, etc. You can have a whole group rezed, healed, and buffed in less than 5 mins after a wipe. Hand this around to your closest of friends like a peace pipe and let them manastone up as well. If you are really good your group can pull 5-6 mobs at a time, have the cleric AE nuke like crazy, zone out, manastone up, rinse and repeat. A 65 cleric has 4 AE nukes of considerable power, two of them have a 1 sec cast time. boom, boom, boom, boom close to 3000 per mob in about 12 seconds, not even count crit nukes. Cleric starts to make a time-equipped monk look lame in dps.

Use your imagination...this item is one of the coolest (and insanely powerful) items in the game and if you ever see one for less than 100k, maybe even 200k, you should gobble it up. I remember when these were 30k about 18 months ago. I should have bought every one up.

And I'll let you in on a little secret, any class can click this from their inventory even the ones not listed on the item, like a paladin. A 9k pally can get 2/3 of thier entire mana back off one cleric CH with this.

300k yeah right!
# Jul 14 2004 at 3:01 PM Rating: Default
As a 65 Necromancer this is completly usless it acctualy becomes ussless to a necro at about lvl 39 or 44 and at 49 you regen more mana than this for less hp and at lvl 65 you use this same hp every 6 sec and regen 50 per tick and this thing has a re cast time of 9 sec 300k my ***.
RE: 300k yeah right!
# Nov 24 2004 at 11:00 PM Rating: Decent
I fail to see how this is useless... especially when grouped with a healer. The hp/mana ratio is better on your conversion yes, but since this is insta-click, it will actually likely be faster. Figure 4-5 clicks per second of spam clicking and you're looking at 600 mana per tick from this alone. Either way it doesn't matter, as this will stack with your conversion, thereby at least doubling your mana regen. Pair with a cleric to CH you to full and you've got MASSIVE mana regen.

Then there is the fact that its not necro only.

For a cleric with a faithstone, this is awesome. Bind in the zone you are grinding (assuming its not an old world zone), and when low mana, faithstone home. Click yourself back to FM, CH, gate back. Thats a lot faster than waiting for 6k mana to refill on its own, even with FT15 and Clairvoyance.

Real handy for raids, since Conviction costs 1300 mana to cast, and is not a group spell (yeah there is a group version, but its level 70, and takes a bunch of raid level runes to get).

Would also be very useful to a druid, since they can do the bind, port, canni, gate thing as well.

So, perhaps its not really necros this was intended for. Now get over here and twitch!
