Well, i can enter Sebilis without holding the Idol (had it in inventory though).
Never got the message that it was added to my keyring.
It won't show on EQ players Biography tab, so I just keep it in bank, don't want to do this quest again...

out of interest can you get rid of the idol once you have entered sebilis and it has gone on to the keyring?

It means that when you die, the key will still be on you, instead of on your corpse.
This was a big deal before the keyring, because if you died you wouldn't be able to get back into the dungeon to get your body. Now that we have the keyring though, it doesn't really matter.

WTF are you people talking about. This item is the key to enter Old Sebilis. it has nothing to do with any mob in Qeynos and nothing to do with enchanting silver.

Um... Venril Sathir is in KARNOR'S CASTLE... not Sebilis. I suppose you could make the case that Venril Sathir once lived here, when he ruled Sebilis until he became a lich. But he certaintly does not live here now.
Sebilis is in fact the current home of Trakanon, among others.

Correct, Venril Sathir is in Karnor's Castle *now* .... but for many years he ruled the Iksar Empire from Sebilis. The serpents, lead by Trakanon, destroyed the Iksar Empire and took control of Sebilis.

Not much more than regular silver, depending on what an enchanter charges to enchant it, if anything. Buy why are you asking that question HERE? What does enchanted silver have to due with the key to Sebilis?! I agree with the guy who posted above you (despite the fact he's confused not only about how to spell Venril Sathir, but what zone he's located in.)
