This weapon is one of the best in the game sounds kinda stupid lol but its true this weapon for a 65 melee has a dmg bonus of 132 so 132+45=177 DMG and then with a good haste item and chanter haste you be hitting fast enough speed and youll be hitting for around 1k DMG dont believe me get a lvl 65 Melee to try this out on you lol
RE: One of the best
# Jul 31 2004 at 3:35 AM Rating: Decent
This thing is great. I equip it on my SK for the first hit (or two if double attack kicks in), cause it's instant then immediately switch to the lower delay 2 hander. Doing this you never see that big delay. Nice for agro when you immediately smack the mobs for damage like a minor nuke.

underestimated
# Jun 09 2004 at 9:24 PM Rating: Decent
this weapon is crazyly underestimated, me as a 65 warrior with only around 270 unbuffed str and no offensive aa's hits for a good 500 with this, anywhere from 300-750 usualy with caped str and high attack, just went to crystal caverns and pulled EVERY single mob in the zone to the back of the spider caverns, probly 50 orc 20 stalag 20 geo 50 spiders, poped this on, turned on furious disc ( 12 second reposte everything ) and boom 140 dead mobs, insta perfect faction with the dwarves, silk for a friends shawl and ore for smithin : ), i use it in bot alot as well, once the reposte disc is up, even without using discs its quite good with self caped 91% haste, brings it to like 7 seconds a swing, but could you immagine maxing all your offensive aa's, up to 5 swings per round , dubble reposte, crit an insane ammount as well.... if it all goes right you could wind up with 3k worth of hits every 7 seconds, ultimate kiting weapon. incredible in duels as well, when you jouste it makes it hit for hit, who ever has the biggest weapon wins, with this thing, nuff said. also vs those pesky monks and rangers and any class with very fast attack, have ur normal weapons on, once hes good and meelin you swingin like crazy, pop this on and turn on the reposte disc, person dies within a second or 2, unless they are smart and stop attacking while your disc is on, most dont even notice until they are dead, as for letting them get you berzerk then turning on crit disc, wouldnt recomend it, reposte works so much better, did i mention in cc, all 140 mobs died in around 3 seconds lol, entire screen filled up with 500's.

well there is some ideas for you : ),no i wouldnt recomend this as a main weapon but for doing special stuff like that, its godly, 177 base weapon damage at level 65 basicaly. or even use fellstrike if on a pvp server vs a sitting caster, 4 times 177 dmg is i dont know some where around 700, thats 5 hits for 700 damage, dont know meny casters that can survive 3500 damage( not counting crits and crips, which happen like crazy if you max your crit aa's ), and thats just to get them up lol, still have enuff time to do it 2 more times before disc runs out. ( i have never tryed fell strike with this so i dont know if it would factor in the damage bonus, might just make it 4 times 45, think ill test it tonite.

This is a great weapon if used correctly, one stratagy is to have you normal weapons in the inventory where you can switch them quickly to your melee. Just smack the mob with this bad boy then swap your weapons back and finish the fight as you normaly would, at higher levels this can give you a several hundred hp head start in the fight.

Or, if possible slow (Or have somebody slow the mob for you then smack it and run, wait for weapon to re-pop then smack him with it again. This takes a while but it works great.
P.S. should the spell fade away just swich your weapons back.

This used to be the ultimate pet weapon, knowing that delay does not effect how fast you pet attacks. Imagine your pet hitting this this axe at a normal rate of, oh say...every 3 seconds or so. Unfortunaly they removed the ability for pets to wield this axe so this tactic is no longer available.

But this is nothing, say you pulled a train of 40 green mobs, considering you are a warrior using might strike attack...this things hits 800 crippling blow. You would be hitting 800 every two seconds with that many mobs mixed with that warrior disc, or better yet the furious war disc

Just though I would tell ya, hope this helps

Only large races can use, pets don't count as large races.
RE: to good to be true
# Apr 11 2004 at 6:42 PM Rating: Default
That's actually not true, pets can use any kind of item regardless of what it says for race, even Race: None items like the Mage-summoned pet-only items. This weapon can't be used by pets because it was way overpowered for how easy it is to get since pets take weapon DMG from weapons they're given but ignore their delay. It has some special invisible tag somewhere on it that keeps pets from being able to equip it.

Only real use for this weapon is for riposte disciplines.

actually, the reason the pet couldnt use it was because of the race requirement for the weapon, skelly dont count as a troll or bar now does it? heh. so what it really comes down to is the race, either it says none, or any, then you have a pet weapon.. i usually use hammer of rage or somethin with 30+ dmg for pet weapons
RE: to good to be true
# Dec 31 2007 at 12:29 AM Rating: Default
WRONG!.. this item indeed has a no pet tag. pet will and can equip ANY weapon thats not 2HS after they get Duel wield, and of course pets CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT equip no drop weapons. <-- thats a period.

He would hit for 52, pet dmg is capped.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 09 2004 at 9:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) pets damage is not caped noobie, lmfao, try stuff before you say it....even tho i personaly dislike pet classes i have made a necro up to level 20 recently ( mages are almost fun ), and i soloed 1-20 in 2 hours giving my pet a tantors tusk, 50/60, he was hitting for 100, pets damage calc is wpn dmg x's 2. altho you cannot use any weapons that have delay over 100, size is not the factor at all for the noobs that posted above, that is why weighted axe cannot be used on pets, and it would suck on a pet anyways because pets do not get damage bonuses like meeles do, they are kind of like a wizard meeleing, but yha, anything up to 100 delay would work, what you want to do is get the highest dmg weapon possible thats under 100 delay, untill the pet actualy starts hitting hard and dubble attacking i think at around 49 they start gettin good, then you want to give them as fast of a weapon as possible or a weapon with proc, a pet takes the weapon with the lowest delay, aka a level 51 lich pet that hits around 60 duel wields ( i think ) it would be best to give him 2 weapons such as sharpened floatsam 5/17, the pets delay would change to 17, for the earlyer pets you just want to give them higher damage weapons, dont give them a high damage with high delay then give it something with a little less damage but alot less delay because it will just eat the 1st one and the second one even tho better ratio will not hit faster and would hit for less.

i've been thinking, since enchanter pets ( at 29 ) can dual wield a weapon, doesnt matter if its 1hs,1hb,1hp,2hs,2hp,2hp they will always dual wield it with their weapon that they are summoned with, what if you give one of these to an enchanter pet and have him dual wield it with his weapon he already has?
Or just give it to a necro pet and let him use at as 1hs weapon and since delay doesnt matter for pets, well...You figure it out

If you have jboots or sow potions the weighted axe is one of the cheapest weapons you can use for warrior kiting in PvE. Bop the mob a good one, run away, wait til weapon repops, rinse, repeat.

NOOB
# Jun 21 2002 at 7:47 PM Rating: Good
Same as most I use this as an opening attack weapon and I critted for 250 with on opening swing (I was happy my highest crit at the time) that was at 42. Some guy in my group called me a noob for using it kinda pissed me of a little coz not everyoone who plays the game is an uber twink and I think its a fine opener for the price and availabilty. Oh yeah at 44 the damage bonus for me war was 48, which is nice.

400+ at 38th
# Jun 04 2002 at 2:39 PM Rating: Decent
I'm a 38 troll SK and I do the "ghetto slash" routine with the weighted axe for my first swing and a runed frost blade for my normal attacks. I average between 200 and 300 points from a successful double attack with this sucker with occassional double attacks in the low 400s.

The really nice thing about this weapon is the riposts - I've had a few times when fighting giants and ulthorks that the mob has gotten off first swing on me but my troll has riposted, resulting in a 150 point ripost and another 300+ points from my double attack - nothing impresses folks more than seeing a mob's hitpoint bar suddenly drop after you've only swung once at it. :)
I love this axe....
# May 21 2002 at 11:49 AM Rating: Default
With this axe my best hit so far has been a crit of 193! Now I just need to get uber haste gear so I can just use it all the time ) Oh yeah most hits were around 115 to 130 with a skill of only 80 in it.
Joust!
# Mar 04 2002 at 4:42 PM Rating: Decent
After reading this thread, I was in Frontier Mountains with a group when one of these dropped. I quickly grabbed it and gave it to my partner, an Ogre Warrior. He'd put it on, and when the other tank pulled, he'd lumber up and joust it hard. At LVL30, his skill is only about 10 in 2hs, but he was Double Attacking 135x2 (270 DAM!) on his opening attacks. As soon as he swung, he'd switch back to his Centi WH and SSoY, and go about the thrashing. Between this joust and my opening BS, we'd have mountain giants down about 20-25% health in the first second of battle.

# Jan 08 2002 at 10:30 AM Rating: Default
As an SK ogre, I've used this technique in OT for over ten levels wnen I want to solo. Darkness the mob, then whack with this axe and run away. Every third or fourth hit, recast darkness. When he starts to run away, lifetap to get back lost HP during the fight. Low down time, and fun as hell!

I got a weighted axe when I was lvl 24 at the giant fortress in FM and I now at lvl 46, I still use it every day. It is my opening attack weapon. If you are a large race melee class and you don't use one, you are either uber-twinked or stupid.
hmm
# Jan 07 2002 at 7:15 PM Rating: Default
this might be good for pvp if your jousting... just run around and then when it your melee button pops up turn around and whack him. At 28 this had a damage bonus of 40! now if my centi warspear hits for 40-50 with the occasional 60 (we will say 50 for an average) then this could do 140+dmg on one swing at lvl 28!!! Then if you double you could take LARGE amount of HP off of them! A lvl 30 who pulls off a double with this could do like a max of 300 damage! most casters at 30 would have like 600hp or less hp... thats like <BOOM> <HT> u ded! I think this wep is way under estimated becuase of the 150dly, but now its a doomsday wep! Hehe i got one for 10pp and then traded it for a crafted bracer.. if i was a large race i could see using this a lot. lol this would not be good for PVE though unless you used that hit with it then switch stratagy.
RE: hmm
# Aug 18 2003 at 5:24 PM Rating: Default
This item is awesome for pvp mainly because everybody is running around with a Damage shield and this weapon's slow delay and high damage would be more useful than trying to kill somebody with a 24 point DS with two lammies...
Anyways if you are 65 and have full damage bonus plus a a haste of at least 30% on an item, and have wondrous rapidity, this thing will be hitting insanely... A GM told me that if you have 100% haste an item like this would be 45/75 but I have tested this theory with my weapons and I am hitting way to fast for haste to be like that so I am thinking that that if you have 100% haste your item is maxed out at ten delay so possibly this iterm can end up being 177/10...
But even without haste this item is awesome for
PvP.

Can anybody please correct me if I am wrong about haste?
RE: hmm

Also, on Sullon it's a brutal weapon for rippin up low levels. SK in my cleric's guild uses it to kill lowbies in cb. I ocassionally go with him, cause we clerics suck at killing anything our level once we get past 20...Bah. At least we're hard to kill.
