The only problem with this thing is it wieghs a ton, I have to keep bugging clerics or druid or bards for stamina if im gonna be pulling.
Weight? Nothing compared to Velious weapons
# Apr 04 2001 at 9:57 AM Rating: Decent
It actually only weighs 10 due to the +5 STR. And anyhow, compared to some of those Velious weapons, this 10 stones is pretty light actually.
RE: Weight? Nothing compared to Velious weapons
# Jul 14 2001 at 9:53 AM Rating: Decent
A-HA! You neglected to realize it STILL weighs 15 for the calculation of fatigue. I have foiled your nefarious plan.

# Apr 05 2001 at 1:23 AM Rating: Default
It actually weighs 15 smarty..
whatever strength is added from the sword, it still WEIGHS 15.. and it takes more stamina per swing than another sword...
being overweight is not the issue... its the fact that it drains sta much faster...
and we all laughed when we saw that "Invigor" was one of the effects on almost every set of kunark armor..

Actually, that's not true, there are more stamina-draining weaps out there, the silverswift blade, a ranger only 2HS weights 10 stones and has a delay of 24... Do your maths.

Welp My war is lvl 51 with a str of 195. (WS + GJBS + cobalt boots) my usual hits ar anywhere from 54 to 109. best crit so far was 183. never did a crip with it.
The weight is a problem for straight warriors without a certain BP that casts invig.:) Course the damage output more than makes up for it.
I like it and recommend it.

Well i got a 45 warrior on Lanys and i used it and hit regurally in the 80-100s with it. There is ONE MAJOR PROBLEM with the WS though. Did anyone notice the fact that its a 1hs weapon and weighs 15.0? It is one of the biggest Stamina killers in the game.
RE: damage
# Apr 16 2001 at 11:49 PM Rating: Default
At your level you are also ******** your off hand weapon with a wurmslayer. Your off hand dual wield delay is set by your primary hand weapon. This means if you have a 20/10 weapon in your off hand it turns into a 20/40.

Why do you think they nerfed the moss twig at 3/10 and the whip at 4/11? Your damage output 40+ with anything in the off hand becomes gross. Stick an old SSOY there and it becomes an 8/10 or 8/11 including proc checks at that delay.

Although I would have loved to have one of these thru my 20s and early 30s.......
RE: damage
# May 04 2001 at 10:05 AM Rating: Default
You story would be great if it was true.
But I can't believe it.
Let's say you are a ranger,
Let's say you have a revulvant whip (dmg5, delay14) in mainhand,
Let's say you have a frigging scimitar of the emerald dawn (dmg20, delay34) in offhand.
This combination would make your scimitar dmg20, delay14? Really? I don't think so. It would make dual wielding so unbalancing that 2 handers would no more be used. BTW, if you look at the ubers equipements, you shall find none of them are using this type of combo. They are more mini-maxers than anyone in this game so you can believe this story is a pure myth.

There is a very easy way to verify this :
Try to buy/keep two rusties, like a rusty dagger and a rusty mace. Log your dual wielding damage outputs on green mobs with the two possible combos. You will find that your mace in offhand never strike as often as when it's put in mainhand.

I believe there use to be something about the two weapon timers being linked, so that the DW would go off more frequently or less frequently depending on your primary hand delay, but they unlinked them quite a while back now.
RE: damage
# May 27 2001 at 8:33 PM Rating: Excellent
This is correct, the current status in Everquest is that the delays of your prim and sec hand weapons have nothing to do with each other. :) This means, use the Wurmy in your main hand, and then get a fast weapon in your secondary (Ykesha is a common solution) to keep up the taunting factor, which is a tank's biggest priority later on... not dealing damage. Of course, you can still take out a very important and large chunk of a mob's life with the Wurmslayer and a good off hander.

If for some god-awful reason you have the Wurm and can't afford the Ykesha (happened to me), just get a Crystalline Fiber (8/26) for your off hand until you can nab yourself a Ykesha.

.. and for the record, I think Yak's look a lot more ridiculous than the Wurmslayer. Oh sure, some people may make fun of it, until you start hitting them in a duel... then there'll be some grudging respect in their voice the next time they say 'cookie sheet of doom' or 'music stand of death'. Personally, I think it has a very distinct and interesting shape, and if you think about it, the design of the weapon is absolutely perfect for it's "intended" use... slaying giant creatures such as wurms.

As for people wanting this to be a piercing weapon for rogues, cry me a river. :P You already outdamage warriors with the weapons you have, and if you had a 25 damage weapon like Wurmy for piercing, well... that'd just be utterly WRONG. I'm all for enhancing classes, but that would be unbalancing. It'd be like removing the DoT nerf, which was a danged fine idea by Verant. For the record, I play a necro and a druid as well as a warrior (and a monk, and a shaman, and a magician, and a paladin, and a ranger, and a bard), and the game would be ridiculously easy if I could snare/fear kite with DoTs at max efficiency.

If someone could help me out it would be appreciated. I've got this lvl 21 Barbarian Warrior that I brought up fighting all sizes from spiders to mammoths. My problem is that no matter what I do my standered strike is 16-18 points dmg. I am constantly seeing players hitting in the 20's. I look up, I look down, I just don't understand. If someone could tell me the key to where to look on the target it would be much appreciated.

Using what for a weapon? With a Wurm my 23rd level barb warrior hits between high thirtys and low sixties. Dual weilding it and a Cystalized Shadow long sword I'm having little trouble soloing hard blue mobs, and the stamina drain isn't a problem.

And now I see so many twink and non-twink warriors running around with this STUPID looking thing. As a 2h piercing weapon it looks cool (as I've heard and believe it was ment to be), but definantly not as a 1hs. If this was a mistake then why hasn't Varant done anything to fix it? Either change it's look to something appropriate or change it back to it's original stats. They've natoriously nerfed items in the past no reason why they can't do it with this stupid ***** up. Oh but wait was that a GM I saw running around with one?

I would prefer that they change the graphic for the weapon. The stats on it except for the weight are awesome. Gives Paladins that want to use a shield something that does decent damage, but the look of the thing is idiotic.

Ok, from an SK's point of view...first off, we are not all warriors, so back off when you say faster is better.

Secondly, I came real close to selling my WS. I got it fairly cheap for playing honest (on PvP, it actually pays to be friendly) when I was level 17. Now the max for 1HS at this level is 90, which I thought was pretty high. But I could not hit crap with my WS and my damage maxed for around 28. I was beginning to think it sucked.

I reluctantly used it even though it was slow, and even at level 19 with 1HS(100), damage max at 32. My warrior friend at same level was hitting for equal amount, and got to use two weapons. I even tried switching back to my guild Khukri (7/26), but only hit for around 13.

Then it happened...

I hit 20...

Went to the bank...got the wurmslayer...and tested it out.

One level difference...can you believe? I now max out for 54 damage (at least that is the most I have seen so far). I took out a large heartsting scorp, which was blue, in about 30-45 seconds. I will time it next time to get a definite time. It also hits more often than when I was level 19.

Can't wait to see if there is a difference when I make 21.

GOT A question...I have a lvl21 warrior barbarian that I brought up fighting all sizes from spiders to mammoths. Anyway i cant figure out where to look on a creature to get my max dmg hits. I look up, i look down but unless its a critical hit, which i've done for 68 points, I cant seem to get one over 18 points each strike. I mean I see guys hitting for 25-30 points per strike. If someone could help what do i need to do?

There is a damage cap when you are below level 20. Sorry to disappoint you, but don't expect another bump like that one...

Aye. There is also a mini-cap below level 10. It's not the skill, its just you cant hit for more than 35ish until 20. Thats why 2 handers are better after 20 =)
RE: My eyes just opened
# Mar 24 2001 at 10:48 PM Rating: Decent
k here how this works, there is a damage cap that is slowly removed over time, 20 is the noticeable one. i was 31 had a crystalline sword, max hit 36, gained a level max hit went up..to 37...and so on and so on higher you get the better it gets...WS is useless to anyone below 20. But... to higher levels...say 39 you hit for like 70+ damage...better have high STA too. but the higher you go the harder you can hit.
RE: My eyes just opened
# Apr 17 2001 at 12:02 AM Rating: Default
Actually, all the weapon using melee types get a damage bonus over 25 for primary slot weapons. Use the formula of:

(wpn_dmg * 2) + (level-25)/3 and round down.

This means you do +1 at 28, +2 at 31, +3 at 34, etc. If you notice, your most common hit will be double weapon damage + bonus.

The bonus is +8 at 49th level and this is when speed starts to matter. Make wurmslayer a 24/40 (nerf for example). At 49 your most common hit will be 48+8=56. Now make up a weapon with the same ratio as a 6/10 (remember they got rid of the 3/10 and 4/11 weapons, wonder why?) and the most common hit will be 12+8=20. No biggy, right? Except I get 4 swings with the fast weapon for every 1 swing with the slow one and my average damage will be much higher. As a side bonus, the delay of your off hand weapon is set by the primary weapon. Using a 9/18 jade mace in your primary will turn a ssoy in the secondary into a 8/18 with proc and then if you get a haste item.....
RE: My eyes just opened
# Jul 22 2001 at 11:44 AM Rating: Decent
Off hand delay is completely independent of main hand delay. An unhasted SSoY, like any other weapon, will only swing according to its own delay in the off hand. If I remember correctly, SSoY has a delay of 24, so that's every 2.4 seconds best case (assuming the dual wield skill check is successful). If the double attack skill check also succeeds, of course, it will swing twice - but it is still independent of the main hand timer.

If this weapon had come out with Velious and not with Kunark, I bet it would have been 2 hand piercing. It's a bit broken as a 1hander no matter whether it's pierce or slash (although piercing with rogue is extremely broken). Of course they won't retroactively make this thing 2H pierce, but that's what it *should* have been. ;)

I don't understand why everybody always uses the term 2H piercing. There is no such thing... a piercing weapon is a piercing weapon, plain and simple. Large size piercing weapons can only be weilded in your primary hand, or the weapon may be restricted to primary or secondary hand, but it's still the same skill as any other piercing weapon. And no, this isn't a reasonable rogue weapon :P Any rogue with a 25 dmg piercing weapon and decent skill would be giving mobs serious issues with backstab :P
And, just an FYI, the Wurmslayer was originally released as a piercing weapon; they modified it to use 1hs for some reason... probably recieved a lot of complaints from people trying to practice their melee skills on mobs that hit into the 100s... so rather than make it easier to skill (perhaps by, say, allowing you to skill on greens up to their defense cap?) they just switched it.

Yeah, I didn't have Velious at the time I posted that, nor did I know much about it. The new piercing weapons are not 2H piercing, though, as they still use Piercing skill, but you can't equip a shield regardless. Not that it's unrealistic, now that I can picture an Ogre walk by with a pointed tree under his arm.... ^^

RE: Dricks
# Mar 21 2001 at 6:16 AM Rating: Decent
Duh....sorry to burst your bubble but you put a weapon with as much damage as possible in your off hand....the duell wielding effect goes on your main hand and is on a roll...not anything to do with the delay of the weapon...so having a good damage fast weapon in main hand and a slow but damaging weapon in off hand(usually cheap too) is the best practice...

If the wurmslayer was able to go in off hand it would be godly then.

Also it eats your stamina in no time at all so either use it on a ranger or be in a group that can cast invigor on you cuz wt 15 is hvy for any weapon especially a 1hs

to sum up the dribble from Dricks basically use the most damaging weapon you can find for offhand if pairing with a Wurmslayer or any other mainhand weapon for that matter...then it will be GOOD!!!
RE: Dricks
# May 27 2001 at 8:21 PM Rating: Good
.. perhaps you haven't ever played a warrior (or anyone with dual-wield) before, but you were incorrect in saying that the chance for dual-wield is on a 'roll' based on the delay of your primary. Get a log-parse of a combat with a warrior and check it out for yourself. The delay of your primary weapon doesn't mean squat when it comes to how often you'll strike with the secondary weapon. Every time your secondary weapon would swing if it were in your prim hand, your dual wield skill is checked (rumoredly affected by Dexterity), and if it makes the check, you take a swing with your second weapon.

If what you're saying is true, then try this; get someone high level with an insanely high delay 1hs (Wurmslayer does fine here) in their main hand, and something fast like a gnoll hide lariat (yeah, I know it's a PoS) in their secondary hand. You're going to see many an occasion where the quick weapon attacks twice or more in the time it takes the main hand to attack. If -you're- right, then the only time you'd see a dual wield go off for the sec hand is precisely at the same time the primary hand attacks. This is NOT the case.

That aside, yes, there might be better weapons out there, people, but most people can't even afford THIS, much less a Lammy or a Jade Mace or any of that obscenely high-priced phat l3wt. Get a fast weapon in your offhand... by the time you would have any trouble taunting due to Wurm's slow speed, your other weapon is going to be going off a whoooole lot in a fight. Add in Kick (or Slam if yer a biggie) and Taunt, and you're not going to have trouble keeping a mob on you. Besides, with Wurm's exquisite ratio, you're going to be whipping out a lot of damage, and the fight will end more quickly anyway.

Personally, I'm somewhat tired of casters who start chain-nuking from the start of a fight, die a horrible death, and then yell at the tanks for not having taunted them off. Aggro builds, people, you have to let the tanks get the mobs -really- pissy at them before you start firing off machinegun blasts with your best spell or AoE nuking five mobs.

Anyway... Wurmy rocks, nice stats, incredible damage/delay ratio, and a steal for the going price of 4k. If you have the plat, sure, go ahead and buy your uberloot... but Wurmslayer is the flagship weapon of the kind of people who don't have necro/dr00d alts to farm what have ya, or uberguilds to give them Jade Maces. Too many people use these forums as a place to come in and say 'this weapon sucks, cause my daddy bought me a Lamentation on Ebay and it r0x0rz j00!'.

<deep breath> .. all of this aside, yes, there are better weapons out there, but Wurmslayer is in the highest eschelon of weapons. Some people actually earned their lammies and jm's... but not many. If you did, grats, kudos, you've attained uber status the fair way. Now go post on boards dedicated to those weapons, or can it. This blue-collar warrior doesn't wanna hear it.

Rangers keep away
# Mar 09 2001 at 2:26 PM Rating: Decent
If you are a pally or SK, congratulations because this is one of the best weapons you could have.
if you can dual wield and are even halfway concerned about your damage/taunting, avoid this thing like the plague. Your offhand will trigger FAR less than with a faster weapon wielded primary. I use a Lamentation primary with an EBW in offhand, and it's ridiculous how much LESS damage and LESS hate I generate with a wurmslayer. the only real use I see for this weapon is if you happen to be main tank and need the AC, or if you have limited funds <this weapon goes for about 4k or less these days and is a steal for that>.
Rangers, of melee classes you are just about the undisputed masters of taunt. You will NOT peel a mob off your chanter nearly as fast with a wurmslayer as with a faster weap. Speed OWNZ
RE: Rangers keep away
# Apr 07 2001 at 2:08 PM Rating: Good
Well, sometimes Rangers want a slower weapon. When not the main tank, the slower weapon keeps the MOB squarely on the warrior/SK/paly. A snare/flame lick and a taunt or two will usually get the MOB's attention if you need it.

Also, contrary to popular belief, the off hand timer is completely independent of the primary hand timer. Therefore, the speed of your primary weapon has nothing to do with how often your off hand weapon strikes.
RE: Rangers keep away
# Jul 14 2001 at 9:40 AM Rating: Decent
Are there others who can verify to observing independent on hand/off hand clocks?

I also agree that this makes a good low aggro weapon for rangers. Rangers have the added benefit of have Invigor and can use it to keep their fatigue bar full to maximize damage per hit.
RE: Rangers keep away
# Jul 16 2001 at 2:56 PM Rating: Decent
I can confirm it. You can test it easily yourself, too, with the following experiment:

Equip a weapon in offhand, and equip anything other than a weapon in main hand. Attack a MOB and see whether your off hand weapon works. You'll find that it does. Since you aren't attacking with your main hand in this case, the off hand timer must be independent or you would not attack at all.

BTW, an empty main hand won't prove that the timers are independent, since you will still attack with an empty main hand using hand-to-hand skill.

I'd wait a few levels. The placeholder for the named Wurms is an undead ape named Gullerback. He ranges from mid to high 40s and has an extremely high magic resistance (druids, save your mana - I've been in on ten or so Gullerback kills and never seen Snare land on him). He hits pretty hard but not out of line with his level, 160 isn't an uncommon hit from this guy at all. He does, however, have a great number of hit points for his level. A good tough fight for a full group of mid-40s, and I think out of reach for all but the largest or best-equipped groups of 35-40th level characters.

The good news is, if your group can take Gullerback then you won't have any trouble at all with the named Wurms.

You need to kill wurms in Burning woods, and Burning woods is considered a 45 ish level zone.

I could be wrong about where you kill the wurms, so before some smart *** pointed it out, I thought I would say I might be wrong.

However, I am not wrong about the level. Notice the level on the weapon says 40, you need a group of at least 35's to attempt this in my opinion.

However on most servers you can just buy one for 3500-4500pp. While this is a lot of money to some people, it's worth saving up for. I have one as a Paladin, and it's better than 90% of the weapons available. I have a haste sash, and I simply cant beat the damage, AC, and Bash/AC of a shield as well.

# Mar 08 2001 at 1:17 PM Rating: Default
Stats aside, lets assume that a ragebringer and a wyrmslayer are compared, and that whoever has the wyrmslayer also has a 40% haste from somewhere.

Ragebringer : 15 / 15
Wyrmslayer : 25 / 24

Now lets assume that they are up to 65% haste

Ragebringer : 15 / 8.75 = 1.714
Wyrmslayer : 25 / 14 = 1.785

Wyrmslayer wins on straight ratio here. Though the str bonus isnt figured in, and the rogue attacking with less delay would get more str bonus damage.

Oh and for S and G's, ever consider a weighted axe with 65% haste? Weighted axe? Whats that? Its a silly 75/ 150 axe some giants have. With haste, its 75/52.5= 1.428. Not a shabby weapon. Not one I'd ever use though, too damn slow

40% haste does not reduce weapon delay by 40%, it reduces it by 20%. Therefore the dmg/dly of the Wurmslayer at 40% haste is not 25/24, it is 25/32. Similarly, at 65% haste the dmg/dly is approximately 25/27, not 25/14. Get a log parser sometime and count your attacks per minute, with and without haste - you'll see what I mean.

It is easier to think of haste as X% more attacks per given time, rather than a % reduction in dly. For example, 100% haste increases the number of attacks by 100%. That means the delay for 100% haste is reduced by 50%. The reason this is true is simple: if 100% haste reduced delay to 0, infinite damage would be inflicted in zero time, which is impossible.
do the research, fool

no kidding weighted axe would not be shabby if it were 75/150. fortunately for game balance that is WAY wrong. try 45/150. and yes, a shabby weapon
RE: Do the math
# Mar 13 2001 at 1:35 AM Rating: Decent
I think what he is actually referring to is the base damage. Rogue's backstabs (which account for 30-40% of a Rogue's damage output) rise based only on the base damage of the weapon (25 in this case vrs. 15 for RB). They also raise faster as you go upwards. This, if it were still piercing and if it could be used by a Rogue, would produce absolutely insane backstabs. This is exactly why it isn't and can't be.
RE: HAHAHAHA

Read before saying something, he said it HAS A BETTER DMG / DLY THEN THE ROGUE EPIC WEAPON!!! Not that it has better stats or anything else.
No longer too big for backpacks
# Mar 02 2001 at 3:04 AM Rating: Good
Since the last patch, this weapon can now fit into regular backpacks. I believe it was because of trade-scams where one could get it accidentally dropped to the ground when the trade is cancelled, by not having an empty slot open or a large sewing kit or some such, that could hold this item.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 14 2001 at 6:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) no bards? this thing would be awesome on a bard! with the haste song and the stamina song twisted of course :)
RE: no bards?
# Mar 10 2001 at 1:01 PM Rating: Decent
Because, any bard high enough level to attain this (and who has any functional brain cells) will be FAR more effective wielding an instrument instead of a weapon.
RE: no bards?
# Jan 17 2001 at 2:34 AM Rating: Decent
shrug, bards are uber with instruments.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 06 2001 at 1:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Heh. Why would anyone waste such a fine blade on a class that excels in running away, not fighting.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 28 2001 at 1:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey stupid, because bards run fast dosnt mean they run away, why wast the ws on a classes that specialize in getting beat up, not doing damage 'wizards etc, im a warrior and have one of these and group with a bard who twists fear and chains. Our enemies run from us. I would like to have a faster weopon with a ratio as good as ws, but It will be a while hehe, i swich to icetooths claws if i have to tuant, becuase they are faster, they are extreamly cheapo compared to a wurmslayer of course, 500pp weopon vs a 5000pp weopon.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 06 2001 at 12:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Bah Bards... You should all be weilding lutes for crying out loud. If you want to weild big badass weapons create a warrior or paladin/shadowknight.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 29 2001 at 5:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) YOU GUYS ARE ST0000PID er... rather, IGNORANT!!! WURMSLAYER SUCKS!! It is good till level 40 for the warriors and rangers, then you need a fast weapon like lamentation to take advantage of level bonus. Just sum input that will help you all out.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 19 2001 at 12:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is the best weapon even after 40 reason being when you speed up on other weapons you speed up on this as well DUH! so del doesn't matter what matters is is the damage ratio!!
RE: best weapon i ever used
# Mar 08 2001 at 3:38 AM Rating: Default
Level bonus affects damage more than speed which is why you want to use faster weapons. A 10 delay weapon will have the level bonus applied 4 times in the same period you attack once with this thing. ie instead of getting a 5pt damage bonus for instance, you get 20 pts. One of the reasons they nerfed Moss covered twig to off hand to lose the bonuses

Ya well unless you got 17k to spend on lamentation Wurmslayer is your best bet for about 5k Im 41 Warrior and I love my Wurmslayer and it serves me just fine when I crit for 170
RE: best weapon i ever used
# Feb 22 2001 at 4:10 PM Rating: Default
Yep, the Ratio is awesome, im not likely to camp a lammentation anytime soon and this slayer rocks!
RE: best weapon i ever used
# Feb 28 2001 at 2:05 PM Rating: Default
Right! lamentation or jade mace are much better, tuanting is mainly based on #of attacks per tick, not ratio and a Warriors main job is taunting. But most weopons that cost 4 times as much are better then weopons that cost 1/4 price. Im a warrior with a ws, and im looking for a faster weopon with as good of a ratio for a similar price, not having much luck either. Let me know if anyone wants to trade a lammentation for my Wurmslayer Hehehe.

I suggest a Skyfire for mainhand below level 45 (10/22 and some other stats)...thought not completely up to par with WS, I traded off the WS for Skyfire (delay just too slow for WS and need the dmg bonus for lvl) and I love it :) Nice base wep for under 4kpp for a while...
not lore?
# Dec 31 2000 at 5:41 PM Rating: Default
umm...they arent lore? if thats the case (and i know they are primary only) then can you get one in your primary hand and one for your ranged slot (for the stats)? 5ac, 5str, and 5sv magic isnt bad at all in your ranged slot, and the 25/40 for a slasher isnt bad either :)
RE: not lore?
# Jan 05 2001 at 7:24 PM Rating: Default
I dont think you can put this in ranged slot as it doesnt mention ranged? But even if you could, I dont know why you would. It weighs way much as someone mentioned below, and the stats are so wonderful to me. Get a bow or some such with good stats.
RE: not lore?
# Jan 02 2001 at 4:35 AM Rating: Default
That weight on it really messes up your sta, and 2 of these will be 30 weight... Dont know what you have been on when you were thinking about getting 2.
RE: not lore?
# Jan 13 2001 at 4:19 PM Rating: Default
Sure they arnt lore but u cant equip 2 at the same time. They are primary hand only.
RE: not lore?
# Jan 14 2001 at 5:57 PM Rating: Decent
for some reason i thought i saw a ranged stat on the picure (40 range comes to mind).
about stamina: i have heard from a few sources if you get your stamina above 100 (or is it 105) that even if your sta bar is empty you dont suffer any ill effects...and sta items are cheap as hell too.
sure, its wt 15 for a slasher, but if you put another one in the ranged slot its not like its taking up stamina just sitting there. if you are a namby-pamby ranger then this may bother you having 15 extra weight but for the trolls and ogres this would be hardly noticeable for the extra str, ac, and magic resist.
i wouldnt mind using two on my iksar, one to slash with and one for ranged (if it indeed does go in ranged) for the stats.

Not that it makes much difference in most situations, I just thought I'd mention this anyways. Although you're right, and Ogres/Trolls/anybody with alot of str gear can carry quite a lot of gear, the higher your overall weight the more damage you will take from falling. I've taken a nose dive for a couple hundred damage from a short height with my ogr war that I never would have taken two digits in damage from with my gnm wiz. But like I said, for the amount of time one actaually spends jumping off cliffs, it really doesn't matter much. 8P

It cant go in the ranged slot because i have tried and look at the picture beside primary does it say RANGED? No it does not so theres a big ol indicator and besides 1 is good enough for me =)
RE: not lore?
# Feb 12 2001 at 4:38 AM Rating: Default
umm i think that u get the stats when the weapon is equipped in the primary slot guys. a lot of weapons don't have to be equipped in the ranged slot to have their effects work. so i think those stat upgrades are given when u equip the weapon in the primary slot but i could be wrong

This item is not No Drop , unless it has changed.

I bought one, in October 2000
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 17 2000 at 7:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I heard it did change because everyone was getting them from guild people and the ratio was beginning to suck.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 02 2001 at 4:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Still not no drop... At least it wasn't yesterday.
