Going rate on crystals

I'm curious what crystals are selling for right now on the other servers. Crystals are selling almost instantly for 500-700pp each on Morden Rasp... I've seen them sell for more or less but they are hovering around this price. Saturday morning I sold 160 for 110k took just one ooc in POK to sell them, with several requests to follow I had to deny.

225 Crystals at at least 500pp each = 112,500

Would you pay 112,500 pp for this earring with a required level of 70?

Sadly, this question is irrelevant. The servers are flooded with platinum to a point where items have no value.

Case in point: On April 10th 2005, a player in the Bazaar on Ec'i server paid 1000pp for a Festive Doll. This was his /auction message preceding the purchase:

" Buying a Festive Doll, paying 1000pp. Too lazy to run to the OT to get one. " True story.

That is a great story and I have no doubt it happened. Did you push him to back up what he said? Did you offer to sell him your Doll?

The Flooded with Platinum theory use to hold some weight back when the big exploits use to just dump coin into the economy. I feel this has slowed quite a bit. Inflation and the cost of gear has stablized and on some servers you see a dangerous deflation in effect, See Zek. The Economy of your server can be effected by so many things and I will just name a few.

1. NPC merchants play a vital part in removing Platinum from your server economy.

2. Tribute has made a huge impact upon the cost of items and making some items worth more then others.

3. Clever PC buyers / merchants who spend most of the time in the bazaar buying and selling. These people get some kick out of this part of the game and some become very , very rich doing this. Imagine spending 90% of your game time devoted to buying , selling & tradeskilling. There is a guy on my server that had cornered the market on Ukun Quills, Ashlock Branches and other rare OOW quest drops. He sells them for double or triple the price the market had been selling them. Well this has backfired upon him because now I see about 3-5 of us selling 1 of those quest items for 1/3 of his prices. Demand has slowed but his prices stay high while ours stay low. But the difference is I found my Ukun Quill on a NPC merchant and it cost me 1cp. I doubt Mr. Corner the Market has the luxury to undercut my prices. I love selling items for half of the value others are selling because they sell fast.

4. Supply & Demand has a huge effect upon the younger players who want things NOW not later when the price goes down. No they want it NOW reguardless if they are taking a big hit from some greedy merchant. <see above> Under cutting someone on the so called established price can break the deadlock on high prices. Sales make you rich not prices. What good is a 300k Aug if you have not been able to sell it for months ? I would cut the prices of the same Augs to 80k and run out of stock. Now I have money to purchace more drops to make more ect... My greedy counterpart is still fixed on selling his augs for 300k and his only chance of doing so is when I am out of stock which is never very long.

Let the market play itself out. Be a smart shopper and the best test to the value of any item is the supply and demand. If those idiot tradeskillers are spending 25k per Bazu Blood to make armor they sell at 30k or less. Then let them do it and dont worry yourself. They will not be in the Bazu Armor business for very long with that kind of overhead. I put all my Tradeskills on hold untill prices drop. I have many other things to do in this game then to worry about the price of tea in China. You should do the same and pay less attention to the lazy , rich players in the game.
