Just to clear up the attack discussion, this item does NOT have attack on it, the stats here are incorrect. Should be
Regen +4, Mana regen +3, Stun Resist +5, Dotshield +4.

Did they alter them? I know that mine used to have +25 ATK, but I've since switched to Thought-Attuned Silk Pants (for the Focus effect) and haven't bothered getting my old Woven Ice out of the bank to check.

Can't wait to upgrade to a Bloodstained Silverweave Wristband or Azure Slippers of the Diplomat (for the Focus effect). But even then, I'll probably still keep my Thought-Attuned Silk Pants for awhile; the mods are far better than those on the Woven Ice Pantaloons, or even the Praetorian's Energeiac Silk Pantaloons.

Okay. Stats are generally nice, but WTH? ATTACK? On an Int Caster item? Hellooooo SoE?

Seeing caster's with 2K AC. Add life sap and another damage aug on a epic 1.5 or 2.0 weapon, some of those casters tank as well as a 55-62 warrior. Attack has always been weak on the classes... this adds some to their lack of it. Overall I find it really nice leggings. It does lack badly on DEX for our critical blasts.

But yeah. Attack 25... not a very good choice for casters as most will not have the equipment to *cough cough* 'tank'.

55-62? Where are you. I am NOT well geared (about 9.5k buffed) and I can easily tank/rune tank most stuff. That includes WoS stuff, Arcstone trash, etc. If I use stuns, it gets much easier. It's just when you get to stuff near your level, it starts beating the bejeezus outta you.

Welcome to 1983. DEX does NOT affect spell casting crits

Hate to burst your bubble... but DEX does indeed directly affect spell casting crits... same as it does for Melee crits... as well as exceptional heals
RE: Uh.

Since when has DEX affected any of the above mentioned criting abilities? Never! As stated above, welcome to 1983! Dexterity affects how you learn your weapon skills (the speed at which they skill up) and also affects the proc rate at which your weapons will proc when auto attack or ranged attack or any form of MELEE attacking is on.

It has <<<! NOTHING !>>> to do with critical melee scores, exceptional heals, or critical blasts.

It's nice that SoE manages to creat ambigious items. . .

Used to be that anything with cha on it was ench/bard specific. Now, it's hard to int caster specific items. . . it all has +int, +sta, +mana, and +hps. The rest is nice, but there is really no distinguising between specific classes. Thanks SoE. . thanks for lumping us all right back together again

Because it has good stats your complaining basically? These have 35 AC where the plate has 77 AC. AND the stats arent even the same on plate and silk versions of the legs that rikky drops. If you compare these to the plate ones https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=34724 they are different both are very nice pieces of gear and are well suited for their wearers. They arent all the same and are lumping all classes together, most have their stats maxed out anyways or close to it so primary things are now HP/Mana/Endur/AC Focus Effects and Additional Modifiers. SoE actually does something right in my opinoin and you bash it. /shrug

Naw, I have to agree with Divin. I'm a classic EQ player, and I really miss it. The great thing about the game back then was that there were many different ways to reach an end, but they were very different. Now Sony's nuttering the uniqueiness of any class. We're all getting great stats, these Int-caster pants have +25 attack mod, for Karana's sakes! Oh, and anyone can buy a potion to heal or mana regen themselves, a horse for swift travel, a portal through The Nexus, PoK, or LDoN camps to travel, everyone's getting more spells, but, as opposed to unique types of spells, they're getting types of spells that other classes used to have as unqiues..

I quit EQ. And then came back in the last month. I got a group, some instanced Unrest zone, watching everyone kill the things. I was a Druid, though we had another Druid with us. We began to notice something.. the Druid was a better tank than the SK. His lifebar fell at about half the rate (hardly 10% per blue-con!), and he was the best DPS of the group.
The Druid was the tank. Not the Druid's pet, but the Druid. {/rant}

Long reply short, I agree with the orginal post there. Sony is making everything too generic.

Oh, and, I forgot. Your race and good/evil alignment are almost forgotten now. And your diety is hardly a consideration to most new players. So much for the indivuality which made this game so fascinating.

Unrest is NOT a zone you should base your entire outlook of the game on. Your char is obviously very low lvl and of course at low levels anybody can tank ****. Low levels were the places that I got all my melee skills worked up, because those are the only levels I would be doing such a thing. You fail to realize that in EQ, you level, and Unrest is NOT a place that should be the "role model" about the game.

I think that a lot of why this happens is because of the dkp system. If things are ONLY for enchanters, or ONLY for wizards, or whatever, there is a good chance your raid will only have one or two people attempting to obtain the item. That is one of the reasons they made a lot of stuff all/all.

If things can't be competitively bid for, it's seen as creating an unfair divide in how much dkp people pay for items by class.

those pants are great and if you are like me don't really need =int, str, sta, or any other stat just + mana/HP then these are pants fron heaven, I don't see Sony lumping classes together but in fact helping the high geared characters even more by giving us what we really need mana and hitpoints, it just go to show that no matter how hard you try someone will always be upset over something
