Also...if you have a FBSS like I hope you all will someday....it would make this things stats around 15/27 or so. Maybe 15/28. THose are awesome stats. Not as good as a Granite Face Grinder which would be 29/28..but hey...we can't all spend 32 hours in Seb or 20k on one of those.

When I was 27..I camped this with my guildmates. We are a strong Paladin guild and it was a passage of rights for me. We were there 21 hours and nothing. At 19th hour he spawns with a sword in his hand. We took his down fast. It was a rusty ******* sword. Grrrr. Point is..this weapon rocks...and someday you will be in Karnors or Sebillis and think....gee...maybe my GB would be nice right now. You will hit in the 60's and 70's with it and 162 point proc is wonderful. It would hit about 3 or 4 times a fight for me. So when you are in that horrible room that will haunt you for years to come...just think about what you WILL become when you get it. It is well worth the wait.

doubt it... but try for a crested mistmoore shield, should work pretty well

Yes. I finally got one. I bought it off an Warrior in EC Tunnel. Actually, I traded a wraith bone hammer and 100pp for my kick butt Ghouldbane. The problem is this:
I am level 12, almost 13... hence it will not proc for me for another 7 levels.
Also, I have been using 1HB since I was level one. So the skill rate of 1HS isn't there. Darn, too misses. Since it will not proc till 20 level, then I have plenty of time to practice my 1HS. But I am still happy slashing most of the time for over 24 points of damage. Oh yeah... I love my Ghoulbane. :)

Ok, I'm a 25 pally, ben saving for this baby since I was 20, & since I'm too low to retrieve it myself..
I spent the past two weeks hunting bandits in WK for sashes, been crwling instead of running while going back to South Queynos each time with 5 full backpacks of sashes, just to get 1pp+ on each, halted my leveling up, lost about 2 bulbs of XP on werewolves not giving damn about it, just to complete the fair price to it (1kpp).. In my opinion this is less frustrating than trying to find a "free" group to help you retrieve it at L28, & still wait from 7 to 24 continuous hours hours to get it. Not to mention I dont want to kill a fellow paladin "shin lord", & have decent faction with frogloks.
NEway, a li'l tip.. Seller will try from 2500pp, STICK to 1kpp no more that IS the fair price!!

I agree, The price is around 900-1100 plat on various servers. I bought mine for 900 but thats only becuase 2-3 people were selling it in EC at the same time.
This is also a great weapon to use even before the proc at level 20. The damage is high and fast enough that it should be something to start looking for even in your teens.

Not only in Unrest. I'm still making up my mind weather to use it or use a Wurmslayer in Karnor's Castle at L49.;)

can anyone tell me what lvl this procs at?
the spell is a lvl 15 spell but according to my sources the proc is at lvl 20 go figure. good luck on the camp if you dont already have it.

It does like 140 dmg at lvl 23 who cares what lvl clerics get it at, it also has good melee stats

It's a level 24 spell for Clerics, so getting it at 20 as a Paladin is pretty damn handy!

As a paladin we don't get this spell till 49th level. Procing at lvl 20 is SWEET. Plus lets not forget the 15dmg 34dly on a 1hs weapon.

The effect is the spell we get at level 49, and the weapon is achievable at around level 30 (even less with a good group). It does 162 points of direct damage to undead targets.
Good luck on getting it. A full, well rounded group of mid-twenties should have little problem, but its best to wait for high-twenties to low thirties, in my opinion.

Aye, the two most difficult things about getting Ghoulbane are breaking the room in the first place, as is almost always the case, and the long time involved in not only waiting on the Shin Lord to finally spawn, but also waiting for him to actually drop Ghoulbane when he does show up, rather than just Silver Plated Bracers.

Hehe, actually, when I got mine, we got it within 15 minutes of getting there. The PHer was up, we killed him, 17 minutes later the Lord popped with the Ghoulbane. We got *real* lucky =)

What is the place holder and how many are in the room in the first place?

I would say it doesn't really matter what the PH is, it's not likely that you'll be able to just walk into the room and kill the one froggy PH without the others getting rather annoyed with you. Sure, you might have good faction with frogs when you first get there, but kill a few placeholders and they'll start to not like you. Best bet is to plan on killing every froggy in the room as well as the others nearby. Not only will this keep you're group safe from adds in the middle of a fight, but it helps to stave off the boredom while waiting for the Lord to pop with a GB. Anyway, there's a little table-like thing in the room, shin lord pops on the right side of the table, under the lamp as stated by unforgivun. While your fighting him it would be a good idea to use bash or slam if ya got it, and maybe have a cleric to stun him cause he not only uses lay hands on himself, but he likes to heal himself on top of that. and don't give me that 'but I do more dmg with kick than with bash' crap. you kick for what? 8-10 dmg or so? that's nothing compared to the dmg your weapons are doing. just bash em for 1 a whole bunch of times and you might interrupt a few of his heals, that way you have to do less dmg to kill him anyway.

I'm not sure on the Placeholder, but when camping the room, you have to worry about 6 Frogloks. There are 3 in the Shin Lord room, and 3 in an adjoining room through a curtain. The curtain room frogoloks ARE in aggro range when you attack the Shin Lord room.

The place holder is the froggy underneath the lamp on the wall. (will be apparent when you're in the room)
