To start, you must be at least 52 and deep into your epic. Take a Soul leech from Dread in PoF, Blade of abrogation from PoA, the ghoulbane and a decrepit sheath(sidequest). take to duicek in paineel and there ya go.

I have the Ghoulbane, quested for it, and now have upgraded and am on Firiona Vie, so it is NOT 'no drop'. So, what is it worth?

Your statement is not valid for the FV Server. The FV Server is different because we can only have one character on that server. It is NOT a no drop on the FV Server.

I switch between that, my Greatsword and Centi Warhammer to try to keep all those skills up, and while using the Ghoulbane (at levels below 9) it keeps on reporting that my will is not strong enought to wield this weapon. I assume that would be the proc going off should I have been a high enough in season for it to work.

Before it went ND on most servers, it was worth between 500-1000pp depending on the need for it. It should still be about the same currently on FV.

This weapon brings back memories of the olden days. Now that all these expansions have been set out, it dosent compare to the newer items. Nice pally sword for lower guk and such, but pallies cant solo like someone else posted, they suck at soloing. Nice weapon just to quest and get to lvl 20, but after that upgrade to something else!

Can't Solo? Ive made it to 45 almost entirely soloing, and I think I can get to 50. Can't solo? Ha.
This weapon is 1 handed, can't work on 2hs with this.

If you want to work on 2hs, just go grab a deepwater harpoon from OOT. Its not the best 2hs out there, but its free, and is probably the easiest quest I've ever done.
I see many people saying that this is a good weapon for the mid 20s to 30s range. I agree for the need to build up a paladin's 2 handed slash for using the epic, but this is a tremendous weapon at any level for fighting undead. With this weapon in hand you could have a very good time in Butcherblock chessboard, then Befallen, then Unrest, then Dreadlands outpost, then Kithkore. All in all you can make it from the time you get this, all the way to level 60.

I noticed a couple people having trouble with the last thing you say to Llara. You must say "Who is Ruathey?" and you need to capatalize Ruathey or she doesn't give you the note you need from her.
Also, the corrupted ghoulbane has the same stats as the regular ghoulbane except it is Shadowknight only. And as far as i know, if your factions are good enough, SK's CAN do this quest, my frends SK is half way thru and hasn't had any problems

Actually the corrupted version for SK's has 1 point higher DMG =)

Yesterday I completed this quest and had to repeat myself to Kanthuk and to Lhara 4 or 5 times each before they gave me what I needed. So just keep saying it. Apparently the Ghoulbane NPCs are experiencing some major lag 8).

Okay, for the shadowknight epic quest, you have to get 2 or 3 evil swords and use them to corrupt Ghoulbane. My question is this: is the corrupted Ghoulbane a wieldable weapon, and if so, what are the stats? My DE SK wants to know...
You give the corrupted ghoulbane to this guy and then you kill him and get the shd epic reward, Innoruuk's curse.
I'm running on my own memory at the moment, but I'm certain that the Corrupted Ghoulbane has the exact same stats as this sword. The difference is the name and the fact that it's SHD only. I'd wait to corrupt it unless you need the bank space and a better sword than Soul Leech.
The quest is still 'doable' - my paladin did it a few days ago. Theres a problem with the last bit of text when talking to the npc's, but if they dont respond when you try talking to them - log out then log back in again. I have no idea why this works, but it worked for me.

Ok, he spawned finally. FYI, everyone who says the quest is still broken and that the npc's won't respond to you, make sure you have them selected otherwise they won't. Found that out as I completed the quest last night. Thanks to everyone's posts here, they helped out a lot.

Does this guy ever spawn? I was there twice today and didn't even see him. Ran up and down the coast with a tracker and we couldn't find him. Perhaps he only spawns at certain times or is triggered somehow. Somebody please help me out.

Ok, here is my guide to getting Ghoulbane. I finished the quest in 2 days, about 5 hours each day. These are the steps in order that I took. You WILL need help with most of these unless you are 30+ in my opinion.
1) High hold keep - Amstaff's Scroll. This was the hardest item to get. Killed crazed goblins for about 4 hours before one dropped. If you shout that you are looking for it someone will usually let you loot it, the problem is the wait.
2) Unrest - Ghoul's Heart. Waited about 3 hours for this to drop. It dropped off a regular Goblin, not a crazed. The crazed/goblin's spawn behind a door where I went in, took a left, I had to go up some stairs, there are some going right & left, go up the right stairs straight to a wall & the door is on the left. Watch out for trains as Unrest is train HQ. Khrix Fritchoff is nearby as well. Highly recommend you take a few friends to help with trains.
3) BB mountains - Blade of Nobility. Find the 5 standing stones with faces on them all in a row. Got mine off a goblin, took about 2 hours. These guys are tough so bring help. I think the loc is 1300 -1500.
4) Najena - Nobleman's Hilt. Go through the entrance to where the 1st Ogre guard sits, take a left, keep going & u'll have 3 choices, I think it's the middle one, the skelly's that dropped my Hilt were down near a waterfall area, there were 2 in a room. Wasn't too hard to get this, waited abotu 30 minutes.
5) West Karana - Ryshon Huntsi, Letter to Kanthuk. He is found near the river about 20 seconds from the North Karana border. Hail him, get the letter.
6) BB Mountains - Kanthuk Ogrebane. Kanthuk is near the port, to the right if you are looking at the sea. This guy is tricky, when I went there someone had already hailed him, after he was done Kanthuk disappeared. So, spawn time was about 2 hours. Hailed him, give him the letter, after usual bracket stuff he gives you a pendant for Llara.
7) Dagnor's Couldron - Llara. Llara is just outside of the Unrest entrance, up on the top right cliff. Hail her, give her the pendant, then usual bracketed stuff. She gives you a note to Ruathey.
8) Lavastorm Mtns - Ruathey. She is on a hillside near Nektolus, just to the west. Give her the note, she ends up giving you a bag. NOW put your gob heart, scroll, hilt and blade in, hit combine and walla! You now have your 1st Holy Sword.
Make sure you always have the NPC's targeted.

I think the last time I ran to Kaladim was right after GB went NO Drop. No less than a week at most I'm thinking closer to 2 or 3. And the I was still KOs to that bugger dwarve. Being an DESK this stands to reason except they were supposed to have fixed this so SK's could do the quest.
This was after spending 2 days each 6 hours a day and never seeing on GB item drop. Bad luck broken drops? Not sure. Seem to remembering doing that quest 1 time a day with my druid. Guess I'm paying now.
Well finally ended up camping the Shin Lord and low and behold after 7 hours and to many Shin Lords to count GB dropped in Guk for me.

You'll find alot of people reporting GB being sold and incredibly low prices soon. There were several people trying to offload them the day before it became a no-drop item. Picked mine up for 125pp the very night it became a no-drop! I soooo lucked out. However, I do like the idea of it being a no-drop because its one of the few weapons that is worth questing for. Being sold like that kinda killed the whole "nobility" part of it.

As of 24 Jan the quest way of getting this sword is still broken. Attempted it last night and the First NPC that is suppose to be in WK is not their. Hopefully we will not have to wait 3 months again for them to fix it.

Nope, as of Jan 23, the quest is fixed. However, Kanthuk despawned when he gave me the necklace. You probably got there just after someone else did the quest. I suspect this will be happening for a while, as there is a bit of backed up demand for the quest. Just keep trying back periodically. I beleive I read somewhere that Kanthuk respawns 15 minutes after he despawns.
Anybody actually gotten this RECENTLY as a drop from the Shin Lord? I have about 20 kills under my belt with no ghouldbane. With them making it nodrop glad I bought one and stuck it in the bank. This will just make the extremely costly and painful start to the SK epic even more painful.

We at last have news! The quest WILL be fixed. I also sent an email via the everquestlive.com site suggesting they give Ghoulbane a unique look. Anyway, here is some information that Absor posted today in the Developer's Forum.

Whenever when theres an ! mark before a chars name it means its broken.

Is anyone having trouble with the guy in Kaladim being bugged? He has a ! in front of his name and will not respond to me. Any idea on when this will be fixed or what to do in the interim?

what does PROC mean?
PROC means "process"...
In other words, there is a random roll when you use that weapon. If that roll is a success, your weapon will process a certain effect.
This became a term in EQ to describe what effect is on the weapon.
For example... when I say the Ghoulbane procs dismiss undead, I'm saying that if you use this weapon there is a chance that the weapon will cast dismiss undead on your target.
Be careful though, just because the effect sounds good, doesn't mean it is. The Iron Bound Tome procs Cancel Magic... this WOULD be great against Mobs with buffs or damage shields... however, I have heard (never tried it) that it procs Cancel Magic on YOU!

Just a reminder, IoN and the pally quest spell Divine Might do not stack...it's either one or the other (I have them both). I know the original post was regarding GB and IoN, but I thought perhaps this related info would be useful too.

I logged in briefly (had to be briefly since the game is having trouble with ATI cards /rude Verant) and noticed that now Ghoulbane has a damage bonus of plus 3, I'm assuming that is against Undead.
/rude verant you made my weapon better.... no that 3dmg bonus means u do 3 more dmg... works on anything

First off, the NPC on Tribunal is bugged. Kanthuk, so we're out gathering all the pieces waiting for him to get fixed. We have the blade, we have the scroll...but the heart! Woof! Full group plus some high levels helping us out and the trains! I've died 4 times tonight, couple that with my group's death and you got a dozen deaths. Any tricks out there for this?
Is the hilt easier to get,...I hope so.
Sorry if this seems like a ramble, but I've been at this one alll day and am wiped out now.

With the proper high level help, the heart is pretty easy. First, you need the whole party to be invised to undead. Go in the house, and into the main room. Goup the front stairs to the right (facing the stairs) and head toward the front of the house. There is a door near the front corner of the house. Inside it spawns a crazed ghoul. If your whole party is in the room, and the door is shut, the ghoul does not run. reinvis to undead after each spawn. If you are invised to undead, the closet is a good place to meditate. However, while not invised, you may get aggroed through the wall. Also, watch for the werebats, as they are not undead.
In 3 hours yesterday, I got 2 hearts, and our group was only a lvl 35 cleric and a lvl 22 druid. No deaths. However, we did train the entire house to the zone before I remembered to invis us.
Also, on Rodcet Nife, Kanthuk Ogrebane is bugged as well. There is a ! in front of his name, and he doen't respond to the note. Once that get's fixed, I'm ready to finish the quest, and twink my lvl 6 pally.

Well, as of yesterday, Jan 23rd,2002, the quest is fixed. However, Ghoulbane is no drop. So my lvl 37 cleric has a wonderful no drop paladin sword. Oh well. Does anyone know if the first part of the pally soulfire, or the sk epic quests can be multiquested? In other words, is there still some use for this, or is it now junk?

I hope you haven't got rid of this yet, for I believe you can MQ the SK part of it if you can talk to the guy in OT (I believe) who gets it and corrupts it. You just have to have all the items to get him to corrupt it. Then when he tries to leave with the weapon, you kill him and let the SK loot the Corrupted GB (not sure if this is what it is called, but it is what I hear from my 55 SK friend). As for the Pally epic, I do not believe you can help there because paladins turn in GB for the 1st blessing in the PoA and then Soulfire for the second blessing, then have to turn in both blessings as well as Mirgul's head and Mirgul's robe for the Fiery Avenger. Hope that helps some...

I got the heart at 30, so it was a little easier for me. I don't know how many people can fit on the ledge he spawns on, but cast invis vs. undead on your party, everyone go up to the ledge, then start beating on him and casting root constantly. When he tries to run, he'll go down to the main floor, into the room with the tiled floor and the 2 staircases. Alternately, you could make your group invis., then leave the group and go wait outside. If the group can't take him down inside, pick him out of the train that results.
