On FV this is tradeable and it appears to be useable at level 1. Given its stats and its all/all status, this is one of the ultimate twink items on FV! Saw one in Bazaar for 750kpp so it's not a cheap twink item, tho...
(not feasible altenatives; these items either are way too low on ac and hp for a tank to wear, or can't even be worn by tanks at all) -------------------------------------- GoD: +8% Tome of New Beginnings (an okay alternative, but the ac is really lacking on this item for tanks)
-------------------------------------- DoD: +10% Shimmering Illsalin Jewelcrafter Stone (assuming it would take quite a few missions to even get this to drop, no thanks)
My rogue solo'd all tongues except Ixt, Zun, Tunat.......not exactly a hard quest, just requires patience like all other GoD quests, cept Tome of New Beginnings.
alexas whyte is in the room u port into from natimbi... didnt see him at first and went to bank to get my stuff for turn in and couldnt find him, and group was waiting on me.. so went back later and there he is... i hate the aby sea.. find npc is great if there is no wall of different deck levels
make sure u have open bag slot... just combine salt and a tongue and give them back to him
Despite what anyone says, If you're in tacvi guild, you can duo or trio all of the tongues, loot them on raids, or otherwise. This isn't really a quest you're supposed to do all at once. It's 'research' and you do it slowly as you get tongues, while you explore GoD /shrug. If you have most of the tongues anyhow, then getting tunat tongue gives you a good reason to push for the other tongues.
I can acquire and almost have all the simple tongues, as do several of my guildies in Grey Hawke on Karana, for those of you on other servers that have this, or are capable of getting it...do ya think its worth the trouble? are the drops from Zun and Tunat definately necessary?
The Zun'Muram and Tunat'Muram Tongues are DEFINITELY needed to finish the quest. The Tunat tongue only drops from Tunat'Muram. The Zun'Muram tongues can drop from any Zun in Tacvi now.
Per today's patch for DoN this is now 285/285 and has its effect revamped to quickening of the aneuk also added 2hp/mana regen and some attack as well as a few other bells and whistles.
- Assistant Researcher’s Symbol now has the focus Quickening of the Anuek. The Hit Points, mana and end have been adjusted to 285. Added +20 attack, 2 hit point regeneration, 2 mana regeneration. Added +3 to combat effects, strikethrough, and accuracy.
Just to state the "bells and whistles" more precisely =)
More than likely, this item was skipped by Sony during the Tkarish/Tacvi item overhaul. Seeing as this quest has been solved now, and the blatant oversight on this item is visible to all, I'd wager that it sees a revamp in an upcoming patch (hopefully with a more worthwhile focus).
I'll wait and see, I haven't destroyed my tongues... yet...
I would agree this quest is practically an epic quest, but so is the reward. Just look at the stats on this thin and the additiional modifiers I would love to be sporting this around on my neck. For a neck item or waist I have yet to see its equal, I'm not saying it dosen't exist I'm just saying I've never seen it.
OK - so you post some other nice items here, but they aren't comparable. At this level of play, the intelligent non-tank player is looking at only 3 things: Effects, foci, and resist balance. Everything else is just gravy, and exists on most items. It's all a big balancing act - "Shall I drop swap bracers and lose focus X to get an improvement on Focus Y that I have on my boots? If I go back to old gauntlets to regain Focus X, is the net difference worth the change?" Your two links have different foci and effects. This is still a nice "catchall" item that has a broad spectrum of effects and Foci (BTW that the spell haste is not SH4 but Alacrity of Aneuk - the picture is out of date, I imagine).
The belt came from Ture, he is the easiest mob in Anguish other than the Trash mobs. but I disagree with Txevu mini drop for a few reasons 1. they have a big loot table but only drop like 1 item, and 2. clearing Txevu trash is harder than clearing Anguish due to the tight spots and turns
LoL I read your post then looked at the mobs that need to be killed for this and came back and was gonna say what are you talking about then I saw the </sarcasm> hehe now I get it much like the reward for this quest your post was also a joke.
