My ranger on rallos zek has this sword and loves it. He's dualing it with the long sword of ethereal energy both give magic res for pvp encounters and a nice amount of dex to increase bow damage. Oh yeah, the dps is also uber.

I currently have a 31 ranger on Rallos Zek , I use a JBoM and a Centi LS . I have to agree its a decent combo . I hit fairly fast and hard enough...Im no pally with a Reaver though . A smart ranger knows when to jump in so he doesnt get whooped . I think any ranger that wants to pull agro from a Warrior SHOULD die . It's ignorant gameplay . Assist and snare , or pull if ya want arrows are nice if not shot in a croud of mobs ,(though your group will hate if you start archery practice through the whole fight unless your REAL good ). But ya gotta let everyone do their jobs what else is a warrior gonna do if there are no clickies ? MEATSHIELD ! Oh yeah you can tank a ranger , but your no warrior or sk . Oh if you do want the aggro ? Well you get the adds too . It hasnt happened to me but I have seen Clerics and Shammies let 'em die . These 2 weapons are a GREAT combo...but it won't make up for ignorance .

Man I think that this is a nice weapon.. I really like the idea of a Lamentation in primary hand and a JBoM in offhand.. I think it would be good for a 38ranger.. I have a wurmslayer and a edge of the taskmaster in offhand...

BTW this would be a seewt weap with a______(insert nice proccing weapon here i.e. SOSF) would be awsome. This plus a mushroom veil would be even better.

Hey, Rangers DO like Proccing Weapons if we have to suddenly get agro off the Chanter who had to mezz that fragging add over and over while we were fighting, or the Cleric who was trying to keep the tank alive suddenly has her hands full with a foul-breathed (insert random mob here) and suddenly needs someone to distract it. We also need the proc'ers if we are doing any solo work (Rangers do not live by arrows alone, that gets EXPENSIVE!). I can't wait till my Venomous Axe of the Velium Brood starts proc'ing for my roleplay Ranger on FV. I have one in my offhand, JBoM in Prim, and am dishing out insane damage.

this is a very good weapon, my bard has this and a symphonic saber. bought it for 1200 on Kane, which is good since the going price is 3k there, being new server and all. If JBoM only had a dd proc, it would be killer
On a blue server I prefer to use a wurmy and a Centy Longsword those 3 normaly goes for arround the same price these day.
But for PVP server the +10vs Magic res is just so nice when a Guy trying to PK U.
But well When U pk u normaly use a 2 hander for jousting.
BTW how munch goes an AD on blue server ??? bcuz on blue that around 1.7k and + bcuz its an awsome justhing weapon 33DMG

just got this item in the Bazaar on Xegony for 30pp from a player vendor an it is a awesome sword.
Heh, yeah ... i have to be carefull as well... I tend to have this in my bag in addition to the Elder Wolf Jawbone. Extra precaution is needed to be sure which is which.

They must have been REALLY tired when they set that price. =P Gratz!
I purchased this fine weapon in the Bazaar on 7th Hammer for about 650PP and now dual wield this in my off hand with a Blade of the Seneschal, to great effect. Finally an affordable and great weapon combo out there that is actually attainable by rangers in their 30's.

As for the sword, I would rather have this one than that tired Centi LS, which looks so comically big on a wood elf or dark elf that they might just fall flat on their face while weilding it.

Should I wield this with a lammy or a veno axe? I have both and just currently been given the Jagged by a friend... dont know which of the other two to give up

Venom axe has be reworked as to have a recommended level of 35, so lessened damage (and no proc ) at lower levels. Just for the proper evaluation of the previous posts.
As for the initial post - lammy is a nice sword if you have a massive Strength bonus and less then maximum ( cap or beyond cap through bard song ) haste, as the bonus will be added on every strike. On the other hand base damage 9 is lame.... With a high amount of haste (like item and bard songa and/or enchanter buff), the better ratio and max damage of the Jagged blade will come into play. Also consider the MR+10 - especially against slowing, rooting , fluxxing mobs - or on a PvP server, like me.

Or with a Warblade of the Fallen (10dmg/19dly +4str/sta +10 svM/F/C). The added saves from the Warblade is a nice addition to the svM on this sword. And with haste and Jagged Edge in main hand, you can work up DW in no time, and have a better sword than a lammy. :)

depends on what lvl u are venom axe is a great PL for lower lvls and as u get higher to about 35 40
u need jagged and lammy also if u have low dex the venom axe suckz huge. But it sells good if u can. =)

This is an excellent secondary weapon for rogues,my 12 rogue has this and deals very decent damage for his level, his primary being a Sarnak backstabber.

its a shame when a warrior with 2700hps and 1150ac cant hold aggro cause a silly ranger wants to tank, oh well makes mob encounters interesting, or in other words always a dead ranger, most clerics would just let him die.

A Sarnak Captain dropped one of these last night, and lucky Me won the roll! I'm gonna use it as My offhander.. still not sure if I'm gonna use My Lammy or Goranga Spiked Club for My main or what... but prob use the Lammy... seems to work better.

I got this earlier tonight and glad I did. Although I can't use I still can sell for my chanter spells I so desperatly need. It comes off of random spawns just like the SoS, which by the way I had dropped twice and lost roll both times. Anyway this item has some pretty good stats and looks pretty cool. Someone else in group said it was a noob sword, but I knew they were wrong. Muwahahaa
Aye, this is a Badd *ss Wep, i had to sell my wurm, but the wurm's $$ sucks anyhow 1500pp now, on DRINAL, and paid 2k for this. This wep rocks, along with my Venomous Axe of the Velium Brood and my now 124 dex 158 str self buffed, makes a killer cutting combo... away with that SSoY crap already, that wep is old :)

I traded my Centi Shortsword (12/25, 5str, 5sta) for this today. I had 100dex exactly with the Centi, and my MagicSV was only 25 =\ So I really needed this much more then the Centi SS. Now my Fluxbladed Axe procs a lot more (it proced tons before I traded for this thing anyways), I got got more ac, and nice resists. I'm happy :)

First off as a level 55 ranger you should have alot better weapons than a Centi SS and a Fluxblade Axe. Sure the Axe drops from a plane but it is definately not a weapon you should have at 55. The 150DD is way too much agro for you at that level even with jolt and the ratio on it just plain sucks for a level 55. You should have at least one of your epics by now. This is definately a huge step up for both of your weapons. Try getting yourself a lammy to compliment the Jagged Blade.

Not all of us are in huge "uber" guilds and can get what everybody "thinks" we should have at a certain level. My guild is small, and we got very few peeps over level 50. I am 52 Pathfinder, what "should" I have in your opinion as equipment and weapons at my level? And more to the point...how do you suggest I get them? Solo? Want me to hop on over to Trak and whoop his azz for a Tolan's BP? OH wait...maybe I should just port on up to the planes and pick up a full suit of planer armor, kael is good armor for my level too. I am sure if I ask the giants in the arena nicely, they will be more then willing to just hand me all the pieces I need for my thurg armor quest. Naw, ***** that...I am gonna go kill dwarfs and get ally with kael, that way all I gotta so is simply trot over to ToV and clear the zone, am sure to get all the pieces I need for my kael armor that way.
I am so glad you posted this information here, I would never have known that at level 52, and being in a small guild that I should have all uber equipment simply because I am post 50 in levels =P Silly me. I feel so stupid now...don't you all???

Why does everyone insist on lammys for rangers when there is a better weapon around for the same price?
That weapon is a lupine dagger:

So what if you lose a little bit on stats? You have a better ratio weapon with an excellent proc.

I can't disagree with you more. I personally have the HPs and AC to take the hits. 80% of the time the mob is on me, and I'd love to have my epics if I could get a raid, but there's a problem, parents. I'm one of the unlucky ones that play this game that ISN'T 40 years old or in college that get to stay home all day and play EQ 24/7. I have school, and my parents let me on the computer for a couple hours a day. So I'm sorry I'm not uber like you and I don't have my epics yet, and I'm sorry I've never been on a ToV raid before, and that I'll never get any good ToV armor, maybe I will a level 60, or maybe in a couple years when my parents cut me some ******* slack, but until then, I don't have much of a choice do I?
And just so YOU know this is MY main and I'm damn proud of what I'm wearing for the little time I get to play this game, so **** YOU.

I use this off hand with my Yak. The dex bonus helps my proc. I use it in my off hand mostly because i get the Dmg bonus in my Main hand so i chose to use the lower dly of the yak. The added mr and ac is nothing to turn your nose up at either. I must say, even if i found a better ration weapon for my off hand i would be hard pressed to replace this one. Even with the little higher dly i alway manage to keep agro. It might have something to do with the proc /hmm? I guess what im trying to say is, haveing the best ratio IMO is not always what makes you most effective (although it helps 8)) Its finding the right combination of dmg, resists and stats that will make you effective in a group. =)
