Not sure at what time this was fixed, but this is now a Slot 7 Augment.

Nope, just got it today, it is still a slot 8
Slot 8 armor is part of the new DoN cultural armor one of three slots 7, 8, and 11

Actually, the DoN armor does not have slot 8 at all, it has slot 7, 11, and 12. Slot 8 is high end Time/GoD gear. Not sure about OOW or DoN, but I'd guess high end gear from them has type 8 slots as well.
Watchout this Aug is a Slot 8 Aug and the Items with these Slot Type are rare (i dont own not 1 on different Toons between 56-65 part EP geared).But i have already a Slot 8 Aug and cant use it:)/bonk.np only spend a few Months on it.It won't help you to talk with a GM or higher :( they only tell you Slot 8 is correct

What is slot type 8??
slot 8 is drops from the highest tiers. In PoP slot 8 only dropped in Time, not sure what items from the new expansions have slot 8 tho :/
Am I crazy or does anyone else think this thing should have some sort of something to do with the elements? Say a +10 CR/FR/MR aspect to it?...

In case you didn't know, the lair of Splitpaw has been overrun by fierce elemental creatures.' Gillamina looks down at the dead gnoll near her feet. 'Poor creatures. I am not a fan of the gnolls by any means, but it is still sad to see them all [slaughtered] in this manner.'

Gillamina Garstobidokis says 'Yes, the gnolls that once laired here have been destroyed by the elementals it seems. I am not quite sure what happened. These elementals intrigue me so. But I suppose you would like to know what I am [doing here]?'

If you can find four of these orbs, one from a fire elemental, one from an air elemental, one from an earth elemental, and one from a water elemental, I will gladly repay you for your time. I wish to study these orbs and have not had much luck finding any unfortunately.'
