Best helm in the game?
# Feb 13 2005 at 1:22 PM Rating: Decent
May be it is me here, but I would prefer the Vadd's helm over this. I would gladly give up 90hp for 5% shielding (as long as I were not at shielding cap that is).

example: being quaded 1k = 4k damage so 5% shielding saved you 200hp worth of damage.

Yes 1k quad is on the lowwww side.

Either way, Helm of the Fallen Saint is better.

if you raiding anguish chances are you max'd out your shielding without augs

Actually shielding is not straight mitigation... it is mitigation of the damage bonus, so getting quadded for 1k would not save you 200 damage from 5% shielding. It is still nice, especially against high DB mobs, however given the choice of this or Vadd's, I would happily take Glad helm.
Graphic is no thanks

I got one of these a few weeks ago and I really want to remove the graphic. Anyone know of any way to remove OOW helm graphics, similar to the gnome guy in Abysmal (who wouldn't take this one)?

Yeah, wearing the best helmet in the game I would definitely be worried how I looked to the other animated toons :) . Just giving you a hard time. I haven't heard of any conversion quest for the look.

Personally, I'd rather be ugly and alive than dead and beautiful.

You can now go into options (Alt + O)under the Display tab and toggle your helm on or off. Believe its the 4th option. As for the helm, i'm getting it as soon as i can. Stats are fantastic and i could really use the haste bonus over my 'antique' Time helm.

I seem to be a little confused, do you have to do tier 1 first to do these quests or no? Thank you in advenace for any info.

No, you don't have to do Tier 1. You do have to be able to raid Anguish to get Tier 2, however. Tier 1 is for those that will never see Anguish (except the anguish of another very tough zone to reach).

All classes can go from tier 1 to end game gear. Except for maybe warriors. The reason being is they can survive or buff or whatever it is they do. So long as they have a decent amount of aa's (250-350ish+). Personally I think it's dumb how many guilds put their requirements above what they can actually give a tank. Why join the guild if you already have better gear then what they can supply you with? I guess some guilds are praying for an ebay toon to save them from their misserable progresson. My warrior is an exception to this rule though. I got in to an anguish guild because I knew leadership well. I'm sure I'm not the first and prolly wont be the last.
