Mask of the Crackling Energy  

 

Been doing Anguish for over a year, and have only seen this item drop on two occasions.

First time, 2 dropped at once and I nearly crapped myself in my haste to send in a bid. But, since I'd gotten a few things before (having given up on this), others qualified ahead of me.

Second time, 1 alone dropped. As I'd been holding off bids while waiting for Demiplane loot to trickle down, I figured I might have a chance...and BINGO, it's mine!

I always cast Rallied Aegis of Vie Rk. II (with my Cleric) and Legion of Alendar Rk. II (with my Enchanter) on every group in the raid. I follow up with Rune of the Kedge Rk. II on all groups, after alerting tanks (and others who want aggro) to block it or click it off. This provides, overall, 10% melee mitigation and 20% spell mitigation, along with 1875hp melee/spell damage absorbed (while also proc'ing a -400 Hate with each hit). Clerics love it.

While the Cleric spell doesn't use any reagent(s), the Enchanter ones sure do. Each cast of Alendar and Rune takes 2 Peridots...and they sure add up fast. On raids, I typically use anywhere from 50-100 Peridots for the whole night. Having this Mask is a tremendous asset, as previously I only had a Tiny Jade Ring (and occasionally a Mage-summoned Aenda's Satin Choker) to assist with conserving my Peridots. I wear the Mask 24/7, and still equip my Tiny Jade Ring when I know I'll be casting buffs that eat reagents; I'm not sure they stack, but it can't hurt to be safe.

I seen this mask drop like a total of 5 times. I never bid on it as I like the clicky effect of DoDh resist mask and with a CoA aug quite a bit.

But as of late, people are starting to get lazy and not show up for raids on time so I have to coth them quite a bit, much more then normal. Since I have my free of malachite use pet summoning AA, and never use my star ruby line of summoned spells (just the AA ability) Will this prevent pearls from being used when cothing people? It is only a level 55 spell, but on any other reagent reducer item I had, they never worked on coth... will this one?
