This is used for the warrior epic quest. This is extremley hard to get beacause almost every warrior wants it. Its just a chance of luck to get it.
Must be that there's just more frustrated warriors out there than frustrated bards. Has to be the reason why every time I see someone talkin bout the red scale they talk about it being a warrior epic item without even a mention of the fact that bards need it just as badly for their epic. Go figure...

Bards are too busy arguing with all the casters about the white dragonscale and the white dragonscale cloak that really is one of the better caster items out there to worry much about people horning in on the easier-to-get red scales. =)

By percentage there are far fewer bards than Warriors, thus people are more likely to know about the warrior epic than the bard epic. In addition, many guilds make it a point to get warrior and cleric epics as both a necessity to help make guild raiding more successful, and as a status symbol to help bring in new members.
However, the bards do indeed need this scale in addition to the white scale.

HIn case you a$$holes saying the 56 warrior didn't win the red scale, lemme enlighten you. The scal als drops off of Nortlav the Scalekeeper in the hole. There is no level cap on Nortlav so he could win the scale. And I am sure he meant 100000 rather then 10000. Check your resources before you start flaming someone!

Are they called Red Dragon Scales or called Dragon Scales but are just red?

Ok, Here goes....
Red dragon scale:
Bard and war epics plus an old quest for a 25ac bp with FR and STR. Easiest is the scalekeeper and is good money for guild coffers in mid 50s.
White dragon scales:
Drop from 2 dragons and is used for bard epic and a Mage cloak. Very hard to get and white scale is always claimed by hosting raid guild for a bard epic

Use identify on any you find these will be named for the wyrm they dropped from. See BURNING WOODS ZONE QUEST LIST for the names but 2 of these are used for the wyrmslayer quest.
Green and Emerald are Cobalt scar and Veeshen peak and are NOT the same and one is for a high wisdom BP

As a loyal follower of the Wyrmqueen, I will protect the Dragons of Veeshen.

trust me....you don't have multiple RED dragon scales in the bank...you may have dragon scales which are depicted to be red.

just won roll for the scale ) outta 1 10000 roll i rolled a 49888 ;) WOOT! 56 warrior of xev. p.s. keeping for epic tho ;)

Hiyas -- I know this is a year late, but I couldn't help reading the post and it seems obvious to me ( although not to anyone else) that he was rolling 1 10000 as he said, but instead of 49888, it should be 9888... just remove the mis keyed 4.
But thats just my opinion, and im always right.
btw, these arent that hard to get and I wouldnt pay one red cent for 'em... hell, the dragons that drop them aren't even worth any dkp

Don't talk through your bottom, I was there for Naggy going down on Friday night on Xev, he dropped two bladestoppers, a selo's drum of the march and an orb of tishan..

While I agree that rolling 49888 in a roll of 10000 is pretty tough, he still could have gotten a red scale.
At lvl 56 its Impossible to fight Naggy, you're ported back to the zone in. Also, the red scale drops in 2 other places:
Talendor (Skyfire Mountains)
Nortlav the Scalekeeper (The Hole)
I know that if I won the scale I'd be pretty excited and might mistake typing 10000 for 50000.

I'm not flamming anyone here, but something you said peeked my interest. Could you pls elaborate on what you said about being 56 and ported back to the zone in?

52 is the level caps for fighting Naggy and Vox. When you are over that level you can help clear a path to the dragons, but once the big guy/gal gets agro'd it ports you back out to the zone entrance so that the "lower levels" can have fun. (If not I suppose it would be possible for a 60 Iskar monk to put the smack down on them. But that is a debate for another day.) Hope that answered your question.

Actually, I was under the impression the highest you could go on /random was 32000. Yes, that meaning Thirty two thousand. If it has changed, don't flame me, it is a question more than a statement.

Went on Nagafen Raid a week ago, killed him. I personally looted off Nagafen: CoF, and three (3) Red Dragon Scales. They are not NO DROP. I of course lost all the rolls on this loot, so it's probably the only time I will ever hold in my possession a CoF.*cry*

It's a rare drop off of Naggafen (A dragon in SolB) And when I say rare, I mean it doesn't always drop when you kill naggy, and sence he's on a 1 week spawn time, anything that doesn't always drop in 1 week is rare :) Apparently the scale alone has sold for 50k, and the armor is worth much more than stated, mainly because the scale is used is several epic quest, so the armount of Red Dragonscale Armor has gone WAY down. Anyways, good luck getting one :)
