My guildy and I both use this along with Heartwood blade and we recently performed a test to see which give the best dps when equipped in the primary hand. Although common sense would have said Bonerendeing since real dmg > fire dmg, our 10 trials proved quite the contrary. We did 5 trials with Heartwood in primary and Bone rending in secondary and 5 trials with bone rending in primary and heartwood in secondary. The same buffs were up for the two types of trials. And each trial was 2 minutes long.
9 out of 10 trials showed Heartwood blade with more DPS in the primary hand by an average of 15 DPS.
10 out of 10 trials showed Heartwood Blade with 2 to 3% more accuracy, which explains the boost in DPS. But what explains the accuracy boost?
Since both of our resists were rather high, the max hit on heartwood blade was 156 while Bone rending had 162.
I know heartwood blade has +5 accuracy but would it matter if it was in the primary or secondary hand? It isnt the augs either since we tested only slash dps.
Can anyone help explain this Phenomenon? :)
