hehe I love going back and looking at these old posts. The game has changed so much....This is something I might stick on an alt whom I'm not planning to spend much money on, but 10/29 for even 100 plat is high nowadays. Can probably find these floating around as give aways or 25pp trader trash.
Tell ya one thing...

I can tell you all one thing... This sword does not look like a lammy, yeah I know that the picture does... But I bought one for my bard.. (lvl 20) and it doesnt look anything like a lammy. I looks like a short sword.. Like when you start a new char. (bard, warrior, pally, ranger) just a plain "short sword". Looks crappy =P

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 18 2003 at 1:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well, if I bought this sword I would have to use it on my bard... I'm going to make a bard char. as my mule.. Gonna max out his CHA... Then Im going to give him all of my cha items from my main. That way whenever I want to sell something I just have a friend transfer the items to him! good plan? If I give my bard 100 cha (maxed) then I could give him all the cha items I can get. Heres what I have so far +25 cha steins (2) making 50cha. (150cha) plus +5 cha leggings. (155cha). a +7 cha bracelet. (162cha). a +4 cha necklace. (166cha). and this GSS which is plus 5 cha.... Making a total of 171cha!!! Anwyays.. I know It will happen,Cause I alrdy have all the stuff =P

As you can see the price is coming down. It is no where near the 750pp average. I bought mine for 135pp. The 5 charisma is ok; but you can buy 5 charisma bracers from an enchanter starting around 100pp. The 10 29 is good, but the thing that makes this sword is its for all who have 1hs skill and you can equip it in off hand. I use it on my rogue. And for you bards out there; this isnt the best bard weapon. A Sionachie's Partisan has 6 cha as well as other stats and is 9 19. And the CSS is 12 24 with 6 Cha as well as other stats. Now I know these cost anywhere from 4k (Sionachie's) to 8 K for CSS; but dont spend 1k on his sword. Its not worth that.

I bought this item for only 125pp! It's for a friend who is starting a bard. The dam/delay is pretty good and the 5 cha is nice for bards.

Bought this tonight on Terris-Thule for 200 plat. 800 plat is a little of the mark. I didn't even have to bargain with the guy. Either there a lot of these available (driving the price down), or I just go lucky.

Looks like a great 2nd, and you can never have too much Charisma ;)

IMHO, this weapon is worth the price only to a bard. The Blackened alloy long sword is the same dmg/dly, and sells for under 200pp (I paid 100). It also equips in either melee, and gives +3 poison resist. Buy the BAL, and when you are in town, replace it with a crude stein to get charisma boost on selling. Of course, if I looted this myself, I might be tempted to dual wield it with my BAL, but sure wouldn't pay 1Kpp for it. Mind you, I don't play a bard. (Can they dual wield? if not who cares if it equips in off hand?)

Yes, bards can dual wield. I'm using this and Icetooth's claws, though I bought my GSS for a lot less than 1k. I think it was about 400pp or so though when I bought it neither I nor the seller really knew the price and sort of just decided on 400pp out of the air.

PGT nice but i had to trade for this nice item. It was either 100pp ir the ogt but i got it from a nice high lvl bard. I'm a 26 war and i hit 32 dmg which is my max and 45dmg i crit hits. Although this is nice i'm gonna have to sell it to get a nice off hander that can go with my wurmslayer.

sure the +5 Cha is great for bards but if you look at the level where you can get it, when you still wearing a pgt (till about lvl 20) the proc on the PGT will much more safe your *** than the +5 Cha or higher Damage..
My Bard can handle even and even yellow cons (if the yellow donīt stun) with his PGT and not kiting it around for one hour of bellows.. later on of course Cha will be much more important
Exellent BARD weapon

This weapon is worth 1k at least.
Domnall had is almost right but he left out one thing:
4) The bonus +5 charisma makes this weapon a must for any bard who likes to have his/her songs work once in a while. Mainly the charm song.
I have one of these and I would never let this puppy go for less than 1k.
-it does make a difference-

1k for a 10/29 weapon? There are a lot better and cheaper ways to get +5 cha other than paying 1k for it. If you really want cha for some charm kiting use a opal encrusted stein or something. Its not like you NEED to use your weapons, just remember to bellow the mob once before your pet kills it. And if you DO need your weapon when kiting, at the level you start charming 10/29 is definantly slipping below the curve, EVEN on a new server with untwinked characters.

A nice sword for anyone as an alternatie to a BALS, same combat stats and +5 cha MIGHT get you a few extra gold at a vendor... to say it is an EXCELLENT bard weapon goes a little too far.

I would stick with my Coldain Velium Pick, 12dmg 29dly 7sta.. bad thing is it weights 10stone, oh well, damage is nice so I keep using this heavy picks just for fun... too bad pick is for small race only.

Whoever buys this for 1.5k is crazy. +5 cha is nifty and that's about all. If you're worried about cha when selling, buy some crappy cha jewelry and equip it when you sell. This sword is NOT worth that much. It's only good points over ebon are that it's medium races+ranger. I'd just as soon take a crystallized 11/29 dual or icetooth and crys. Sure I lose 5 char, but my I'm doing more dmg. (I just want look as pretty doing it.)

Lol noones going to buy this so they can sell???? I mean give me a break. Doh crystallized is better for a RANGER but not for a bard. just my 2 cents

Well, that was a well thought out and intelligently presented retort. I imagined some uneducated dwarf running around in circles yelling whilst dragging a beer bong behind him.

GSS/ebon razor
# Feb 09 2001 at 7:45 PM Rating: Default
I am not trying to say that this is a bad sword or anything. I was just wondering why this sword costs around 2-3K, while the ebon razor, a better sword is only worth around 400pp? people can say that this might be more rare, or off a higher lvl mob, but what difference does that make?
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 08 2001 at 7:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) U guys are idiots! This is a great weapon for bards thanks to tha +5cha ...U guys are just retarded n00bz that need to shut yo mouths... U want some of me most likely so come to Luclin and duel me my name is Garo!
RE: GSS/ebon razor
# Mar 05 2001 at 12:51 PM Rating: Default
The main reason that I can see is simply this....the GSS can be equiped in the off hand, while the Ebon Razor is Primary only...just my thoughts...I know now that I have Wurmslayer, my ebon razor is useless....*sigh*
RE: GSS/ebon razor
# Feb 14 2001 at 11:38 AM Rating: Decent
I think the reason this item is worth more is because of the +cha on it. That makes it a valuable weapon for a Bard (whose songs are resisted based on his/her charisma).

Other than that, it's not even as good as the new Crystallized Sword from Velious (11/29). But I don't think there's a whole lot of those out there yet.
RE: GSS/ebon razor
# Feb 25 2001 at 8:12 PM Rating: Default
OK, Ebon Razor is small races only, and no rangers.

But I dont understand the 2K price tag either, its only 5 CHA, it weighs 6, which is quite heavy.

I love my Icetooth Claw (11/29 wt 2.0)

ICETOOTH CLAWS ARE PRIMARY HAND ONLY! That is what makes this a valuable item! It has a good dmg/dly and can equip in off hand slot? Why is this so hard for all you ppl to understand?

Except for the Charisma, a Blackened Alloy Longsword has the same stats, and a +3 poison resist. Equips in either melee, and is 4 lbs lighter. This weapon is worth the price ONLY to a BARD. If you are not a bard, and have one, sell it to a bard, buy the BAL to replace it, and pocket the 800pp.
RE: GSS/ebon razor
# Mar 24 2001 at 9:21 AM Rating: Default
These reasons are factual, but it really depends on what the buyer is actually willing to pay when you figure out the final price tag....

It's pricetag is loosely based on three things.
1) It is equippable in either hand.
2) +5 Charisma is not too shabby. It makes sales prices raise modestly, and when you are heading into town with that pack chock full`o`stuff for a merchant, the difference in change can mean 10 or 15 extra plat by the time you are through selling everything you are carrying.
3) The weapon appeals to a slightly bigger audience than the Ebon Razor, considering the Razor can't be used by Rangers, while the GSS is anything that can use 1HS. With a bigger market, there is potentially a higher demand for the weapon.

Again, this is only conjecture. The prices on the site also may or may not reflect current actual server prices. Take a look in your main market zone for your server and do a price check.

Still, there are a lot of other weapons with similar stats thst are priced at a fraction of this one. Berserker sword is my Bards main weapon at 12/36 and it equips in the of hand and it only sells for 300pp or so. Even the Crystalised Sword which is 11/29 sells for half of what this is priced at. I doubt its worth it just for that extra 5 charisma.
This item is awsome
