Not as sweet as a Melon

There are 9 "a Spiroc Harvester(s)" that spawn on the island, sort of in a loop and around the southern shore and then north on the ridge of the rock. About 8.5 minute spawn timers.

They do cast SoW and run away extremely fast, but it is the 4th buff they cast after spawning; so if you keep up with the cycle you won't have to worry about them running to the invisible wall rectangle in the middle of Timorous Deep (actually happened to me).

It took me 7 complete cycles (sans the last spawn), so 61 kills total to get the "Tropical Melon." Indeed a Rare to Very Rare drop rate.
all over the Aviak Isle

There are about 7 or 8 Harvester spawns of these around the Aviak Island. The melon seems to be very rare. Killed 30 or so and haven't seen one. Also, these things seem to take my Razor-backed Backstab at full capacity between 8000 and 16000 damage. The ones that run at low health I just let go cause they are way too fast to chase (immune to snare).

someone said they saw some in the ocean, i did too but it was one and it was was down by the island you zone in on from BB, i could target it but couldnt hit, kept saying too far away. These are the only 3 i could find, if i missed any i am sorryxD. they are in the island farthest NW of the map. While in between cycles run to the other side of the same island and kill skellys on the mountain side for your 2 rums, respawn for spirocs are 10 mins... good luck Smiley: sly

To get this for my rogue's 1.5, I took her and my 73 druid over and camped the rogue. I cast Annul Magic on each mob a few times and then DOTed them to death with my druid. Got the melon drop on about the 4th one.

Just went to get these on test server, couldn't find a single one, asked a ranger friend to come out they were all underwater in a straight line off the corner of the box, ranger used taunt to get agro and we kill all 9 of them no melons dropped but we went back to the land and 1st one we killed there had the illusive melon.
Do yourself a favor.

When you are at a level where you can get experience off these mobs, do it. This way you kill 2 birds for one melon.

Take quite a bit of time and I wish you luck.
BE CAREFUL...

Little note to anyone trying to camp this Tropical Melon. It doesnt drop often. But, aside from that, ITS A MEAL. Yes, if you leave it in your top bag (like I did by accident) it will be eaten. Then goodbye hours of camping, lol. Be Careful.

got mine in like 3th kill. when they're like 21% hp stop attack and wait for backstab to pop and then and then wack the ***** as soon as it runs. I saw some of them cast spells and I BS's it at 23'ish HP when it started to cast and killed it instantly

GJ with the fruit =)

Well,

I officially hate this camp. I got luckier than some, but it still sucked. 2 hours of slaughter with no drops, then suddenly got 2 of them in a row.

Anyways, make sure you kill the harvestors before they can cast sow (or whatever) on themselves. When they run at 20% it is darn near impossible to catch them. For several during the cycle break-in, I ended up running behind them while ranging them down since I couldn't catch up to them. They are also super-resistant to just about everything. So forget the spine breaks / snare procs.

Also, these guys seemed to be innately vulnerable to backstab damage. Actual damage done by my backstabs was always greater than it should have been. Like I had a crit message for 4000-ish, but the actual damage done was 17k. That being said, it is fairly easy to 1-shot these guys if ya get lucky (especially with daggerfall / razorarc).

Sometimes they have a habbit of dying "in" in the mountains. This happened to me twice. I used the necrotic divining device to target the corpse, and tried /loot, but I always got the out of range message.

The only thing that made this camp even remotely bearable was that I got somewhere between 2-3% AA xp per solo kill. Which isn't bad for mobs that can be killed with one well-placed backstab.

Anyways, good luck on this camp. It can really suck.

on 6th or 7th cycle now, still no luck.

Don't forget to have food early in your inventory so you don't eat it by mistake.
common??

This, my friends, is not a common drop. Been here for 2 hours. On the 5th cycle now
