For all the comments about the pouch being bugged or whatever. It does work, but you HAVE to have the mask ON while under the illusion... ie. Besmirched Mask of Conception ----> CLICK -----> EQUIP (either order works)...do your hails/text on Diggins, then hand in the pouch and BAM! Flag received.

TY for letting me know what I was doing wrong. This worked with the dwarf but does not seem to be working with the barbarian.

Answered my own question with more research - it is a one time substitution. You can't do it with multiple parts of the epic.
I tryed to use this for the first part of the tradeskills...the Vah Shir part...he saw threw my guise..i have mask and used sneak/hide/SoS..didnt work..i zoned out ..didnt work..
Now im at the smithing part..i got all the stuff together for a shammy to make dwarf illusion.. i handed the gems to Diggins in North Kaladim..he says same thing as Vah Shir does.. (no i dont think so dwarf..)

OK some news.....i could never get Vah Shir or the Dwarf to work....So basically i did the Kings Feast and the Jumjum Juice..Thats when i tryed to do the Dwarf hand in... a no go....So looks like i'll have to do the Smithing..
Now...that leaves me with Barb Trade Skills and Human Poison Tradeskills... i decided to go with the (Pouch of Gems turn in) Human Poison ..because i hade more High Quality Animal skins than Poison item combines ...(hardly anything in the bazaar) I went to PC and ....being a Human already, i didnt need the Mask ...cuz i didnt even have it...So i wore my Occluded Sun Pendant..and Sneak/Hide and targeted Arly Golyeck from the rear.... gave him the Bag of Gems and it worked..
I might have been able to use the Gems on Elyn Connoy the Barbarian?? we'll never know.. But i hope some of this is helpful to the next person.

Me thinks it would work better if you didn't hide.
He's in the Lions Roar...that tidbit would have helped me a bunch to know

just tried this today and the vah shir was 'seeing through my disguise'. any idea if they took this option out?
Are you same race as him or under the Illusion of his race?
I don't know if this is a bug or not. But when my rogue reached the poison making tradeskill i took the sideway and got the pouch of gems from HPH. I took it back to Arly and he refused to take it. So, if you're doing this part within the next few days, i'd suggest either doing the poison part or waiting a few.
