Ok..here i am... a little woodelf warrior.

My strength is ok (well good enough i guess), but where my race has a problem is with our low stamina.

It gets rather tired asking for invigor half way through a long fight.

However, not only does the lammy have a + to stamina, but it is also VERY LIGHT.

Add that to the low delay and tauntability...makes it the weapons of choice for me.....now i just have to get a couple lol.

good hunting all

Taunt Factor

I play a lvl 54 warrior and let me tell you I love these swords because of the insane taunt factor. If you've ever had the pleasure of trying to keep a mob off a monk using his celestial fists you will know what the hell I am talking about. Sure there are weapons out there that do more dmg, but Lammy is all about taunt, plus if you wield a pair of them thats an extra 100hp. Not too bad at all.

Lammy + Frostbringer
# May 24 2001 at 11:43 PM Rating: Decent
My buddy uses a Lammy in his primary and a Frostbringer(11/22 I think) in his off hand. He also has a FBSS. All I can say is that when we go to OT and partner (I'm a 34 Cleric) we have no problems taking out Mobs, and taking them out quickly. Just my 2cp

P.S. My buddy is super twinked if anyone was wondering what someone who fights in OT is doing with this stuff.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 24 2001 at 9:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OK WTF THE JADE MACE ONLY HAS 1 DELAY BETTER WOOPDEE DOO! WTF IS WITH YOU PEOPLE ANYWAY! THIS IS ABOUT THE LAMENTATION NOT THE WURM SLAYER OR JADE MACE, DAMN PEOPLE.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 14 2001 at 9:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Relax little newbie grasshopper, that 1 delay you talk about adds up to a lot of extra swings if the fight is long, and thus more damage.

one quick question. i have a wurmslayer in primary and a crystallized sword in secondairy its 11 dmg 29 delay, but sence im holding wurmslayer in primary hand wouldent that do more dmg than lamentation because having wurmslayer makes secondairy 40 delay with it. am i right or did i get somtihng wrong here?
RE: Lamentation = awesome !
# May 26 2001 at 7:02 PM Rating: Decent
You got it wrong. The off hand delay is not tied to the primary hand delay in any way shape or form. Easily tested; take a fast piercer and stick it in off hand, take a slow 1hs or 1hb and stick it in the main hand. If your DW skill is good, you'll see a lot more pierce attacks than slash/crush attacks. What determines when your off hand goes is an added check. When off hand delay is up, the game makes a skill check against your Dual Wield skill; if it passes you swing; if not you don't. Regardless of the results of the check, your off hand weapon delay timer starts counting down again to the next check.
Jade mace
# May 22 2001 at 5:01 AM Rating: Default
A jade mace is better than this for primary hand. Go do some research before posting anything negative about this plz.
RE: Jade mace
# Jul 28 2001 at 3:26 PM Rating: Decent
I would use the lammy instead of the jade mace because the lammy(9 19) has 6 sta AND 6 str plu 20 hp.The 6 stam also adds a little hps and the lammy weigh VERY VERY LITTLE. The jade mace is 9 18 and weighs more. You do the math.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 23 2001 at 10:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) are you dumb or somthing? if you could read you could see the guy said that lamentation was better for secondairy weapon you stupid idiot. and i agree with him Wurmslayer rules. i only wish i could hold 2 of them at once.
Wurmslayer not good at higher levels

Wurmslayers rock when you're at the lower levels, but once you get up to the higher levels where things are taking your health down fast, you want to do the most dmg in the shortest amount of time, anybody with a Lam or Jade mace in thier primary, and a GOOD off hand like the Green Jade Broadsword will completely outdamage the Wurmslayer and the same offhand.

Here's a more technical explanation
Wurm -- GJB ----- Lam --- GJB
Primary Secondary Primary Secondary
75 dmg -30dmg --- 25dmg - 30dmg
00 dmg - 0dmg --- 25dmg - 30dmg
00 dmg - 0dmg --- 25dmg - 30dmg
75 dmg -30dmg --- 25dmg - 30dmg
00 dmg - 0dmg --- 25dmg - 30dmg
============================================
210dmg ---------- 275dmg

That's a 65 point dmg difference in only two rounds of the wurmslayer.

This doesn't include double attacks kicking in. Those would increase the outdamage rate even more to the Lam/GJB side. Crits might move the balance back towards Wurmslayer side, but more often than not, your crits are going to be with your kick or bash than anything else =P

Bloody hell, I inadvertantly double posted while trying to get the stupid columns to look right.
RE: Wurmslayer not good at higher levels
# Jul 10 2001 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
That's actually wrong. Wurmslayer will outdamage gjb or lammy. The delay in primary doesn't effect the delay in secondary. The reason you want 2 weapons with lower delay at higher levels is simple. You're not the one doing the damage. Wizzies, mages, druids, rogues and monks do most damage at higher levels. The job of the tank is to keep mobs off them. How do you keep mobs off them? Hit them a lot and taunt.

I might be wrong but I think if the dly in the main is lower then the dly in the offhand then you get a dmg bonus on the weapons. Works for my lupine in main lammy in off. 9/18 > 9/19

These Lamentation things look neat, a longsword with a dimond-shape at the end. i saw someone with two of these and i watched as he killed a couple o' Sarnaks with 'em. the are good with a wurmslayer, especially with double attack. i want one, but 13k is...12.999k more that what i have on all my characters. I would get one anyway. just to collect =D

# May 11 2001 at 10:49 AM Rating: Default
i was just saying about the wurmy and CSS below, i mean i think that is a better combo because I can easily solo a tigress in OT with those weaps (i got regen BP) but after i got my lammy's i just simply can't kill a tigress solo, the fight lasts to long and i get to low on HP, you do way less DMG with lammy's but it is true taunt works better, guess my solo'ing days are over as a warrior /cry. now i gotta sell that fungi tunic...
Taunt it off me
# May 09 2001 at 8:26 PM Rating: Default
All I have to say its all about taunt factor. The faster teh weapon the more times you hit, the more agro you draw the longer you live seeing as how you cleric stays alive. Thats why Moss Covered Twig was so coveted. 3/10 till the changed it. its not what you hit for on raids an such its how long you can keep it on you, and yes I know dmg is important but you when you have others doing damage it helps to keep them alive too.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 09 2001 at 10:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i dunno wurmslayer with a CSS does a lot of damage...i have 2 lam's now w/FBSS, doesnt even come close to the amount of dmg i do with wurm + CSS, with wurm each hit is around 80-100 and CSS is around 50, with lam on average i hit for 20's kinda over-rated but i might keep the lammy's for status reasons. my str is 165ish usually, at lvl 43 my atk is 913 or so, i dunno bout these lammy's hehe

Yep, a warrior in my guild on E'ci paid 13k for each of his. The price is pretty close. You could try and low-ball them for 11-12, but on our server they aren't for sale that much and I would imagine the person will just go on their way and find someone else who is looking for one.

RE: hehehe
# Apr 16 2001 at 11:44 PM Rating: Default
Wurm is a nice weapon, but since it is a primary weapon slot only, it sux at higher levels. You do know that your secondary dual weild is based on the delay of the weapon in your primary hand?

That means you just turned your 9/19 lamentation into a 9/40.
RE: hehehe
# Apr 18 2001 at 12:19 PM Rating: Default
That's not true at all. The rate of your off hand has to do with its dly and your dual wield skill, so you may get 2 or 3 slashes with your lam for every one slash of the wurm if your skill is high enough. I happen to use this combination myself and I've seen my lam double attack twice between my slashes with the wurm.
RE: hehehe
# Apr 25 2001 at 9:25 AM Rating: Decent
Utter Crap. You only have the chance to dual wield after your primary weapon is swung - so if you have a 25% chance of dual wield for instance, you get a swing with offhand weapon 25% of the times main weapon is swung. check out http://www.gameznet.com/eq/class/normalodds.html
for details. So it's best if you have lower delay weapon in offhand otherwise you can miss the chance to swing if offhand weapon has not recovered.
RE: hehehe
# Apr 27 2001 at 9:36 AM Rating: Default
You're wrong. Off hand swings are on an independant timer not on the same on as your primary. To try it give a high level warrior a fast weapon for off hand and a really slow one for primary. Every so often he will end up swinging the off hand weapon a couple times in between primary swings.
RE: hehehe
# May 16 2001 at 10:48 AM Rating: Default
check out the link above - this has also been confirmed by verant.
RE: hehehe
# May 26 2001 at 7:08 PM Rating: Default
That chart says nothing at all about WHEN the skill checks are made; only about how often they are passed.

The delay on the weapons are independant of each other. Simple way to verify this : get a Wurmslayer and a fast piercer. See how many times you pierce the enemy, compared to how often you slash the enemy.
RE: hehehe
# Jan 15 2002 at 6:15 AM Rating: Decent
Yup. I'm still amazed that this rumor is hanging around. How often your Secondary weapon swings has NOTHING to do with your Primary's delay. Do a test yourself if you really want to. Used to use a Wurmslayer/Lupine Dagger, and I can tell you without a doubt that the Lupine was frequently getting in twice as many hits as the Wurmslayer (and yes, I took Double Attack into account, had Misses turned on).

Only things that affect how often your Secondary weapon attacks are it's delay, your skill in Dual Wield, and whatever Haste you have at the moment.
RE: hehehe
# May 20 2001 at 10:55 PM Rating: Default
I'm afraid that you are full crap.
Try equiping an item that doesn't allow you to attack in the primary, and watch your offhand still go at it... explain that one with your logic...
RE: hehehe
# Jun 02 2001 at 6:00 PM Rating: Default
Tested the idea out and its primary-determined. Put a frozen longsword (7 26 primary) with velium dagger (3 19 secondary) - first message was always slash and piercing was always after slashing with no deviation.

Conclusion: if your pairing a Wurmslayer or other high-damage medium to high-delay main hand weapon with a medium to low-damage fast-delay weapon in your secondary you've turned the off-hand weapon into a low-damage high-delay weapon. The Wurm-Lammy combination would be good for adding to the strength/stamina stats (especially to breach the 100 stamina mark) and reducing the off-hand weapons drain (hard to beat 0.6 weight).

I still argue the jade mace isnt as good overall based on the wus stick combined with the knuckle dusters. The mace is faster, but strictly ona ratio standpoint the KD do more dmg at a lower overall rate (it would take the mace lkonger to do the sam amount of dmg even though its shorter delay) plus the wus stick procs like a SOB, and makes for a nice round of dmg (-= Just my opinion.

Actually what is being discussed is whether or not a Lamentation is better than a Jade Mace.. go look for stats of Jade Mace and see for yourself why it could be better. Lammy's have great stats and hit fast, the wurm/css combo does more damage but being able to tuant is the most importnat thing for a tank. Dueling I would use Wurm and CSS, but grouping I would use Wurm/Lammy
