dont start in on newb's
# Aug 06 2003 at 11:13 AM Rating: Default
i have a comment on the newb beggar statement , tho it may be true , how many 45+ do we see every day asking for c3? newbs arent the only beggers.
anyone who can say they never grouped or had help with anything as a chanter needs to reevaluate their attitude twards new folks who need our help and to andswer thier questions when they ask even if it seems trivial to us.

Disappointing
# Jan 18 2003 at 3:59 AM Rating: Decent
I have to say that the level on Int and Cha on this item is a little disappointing. For the levels required to attain them, I'd have liked to have seen more Int Cha and Mana on them.

I'm not sure when that pic was taken, but I got these last night on my chanter and they do NOT have 20 HP or 50 mana on them. Just thought I'd let you all know :)

First, your post is wrong. These legs certainly DO have +20hp +50mana on them. If they didn't then they would be complete trash.

Second, you are a druid...so how can you wear these in the first place? They are enchanter-only.

As for the item itself...it is ok...not great. The effect Clarity on these legs takes 15seconds to cast...which is ridiculously long. I was hoping to use these to help groups recover mana after a wipeout but I didn't realize it was going to take me 2minutes to crack 8 people.

Forgive me, I was half asleep when posting that message ages ago, just wanted to say that I was thinking of the crap ones from Thurg *bonk self*
But I also did say that I got them on my chanter, not my druid, so I'm not totally dumb when tired :)

I got compo

Why does Enchanter equipment have effects we can already cas
# Sep 04 2001 at 11:35 AM Rating: Decent
Consider that the non-caster gear has effects on it too. Something like cobalt for a warrior lets that warrior guy do stuff that he couldn't otherwise do. He gets to cast spells that warriors don't naturally get.

So why does the enchanter gear all have spells on it that we ALREADY have? Surely to make this stuff of equal value to the equivalent non-caster gear it should include some effect that chanters couldn't normally do. A small heal spell perhaps or even a half decent nuke.

On my last raid I was the only Ench. 3 groups with 2 Wiz, 2 Clr , 3 Dru , 1 Nec , 5 Hybrids..
Sitting down to switch spells , especially with mezzzed, or freshly un mezzed mobs around gets me beat on . Nevermind the mana. This gear is made to make the enchanters life easier. In a solo situation a heal or finishing nuke would be great. Look at the ench epic weapon, effect haste, sure I got that spell but Id rather save the mana for mindwipes so all the mobs forget how totally pissed they are at me.

I was Amiable to the Quest NPC and I turned in this stuff and I lost it. Anyone know how good a faction you need for this? Took me forever to get the items and now they are gone, VI DIE!

Useless...
# Mar 23 2001 at 1:50 PM Rating: Default
Once you're level 54 nobody is going to want normal clarity period. Clarity 2 is way better and everyone is going to want it, the only thing these will be good for is buffing the newb beggers.

What poeple want and what they get are 2 different things . C2 on the INT casters and dedicated healers. Click-clarity for anyone else.
unlyss you just want your chanters sittin round buffin popele and meddin.
RE: Useless...
# Jun 10 2001 at 3:22 AM Rating: Default

Best use is after a raid wipeout... I have the enchanter wand from the old Cazic Thule, with rightclick Clarity, and I can start getting Clarity on people immediately after I'm rezzed (myself included.) That reduces downtime A LOT.

A dream come true
# Mar 21 2001 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
Having just made a Chanter a few weeks ago, I have become so much more aware of what they go through. This is a huge change from the druid I grew up with. I have been accustomed to SoW and heals all my life. But my little chanter can't heal and it takes forever to get all my mana back. Not to mention that when I get bigger, I imagine people will be bugging me for Clarity just as much as I have been asked for SoW.

Although the INT 2 isn't terrific, there aren't a whole lot of INT legs in the game, so I can live with these quite nicely. What is really great is that if these really DO have unlimited charges, this will free up another slot on the available spells that we have to keep ready. That might just mean one more buff or one more damage control spell for the group - HOORAY !!
RE: A dream come true
# Mar 23 2001 at 1:39 PM Rating: Default
The only real problem is that by the time you get there, you will have 2 spells that are better than clarity. 1) gift of the clear mind (group clarity) and 2) Clarity II.

Couple these two spells with the fact that this Clarity has an 18 second casting time and you have something that while useful, is only really good for handing out random acts of kindness to people. It's a lot like the vambraces for clerics that cast Valor. Sure it's nice having an inferior spell that has a 0 casting cost, but your groups are going to want the best spell you can cast most of the time.

# Mar 30 2001 at 3:12 PM Rating: Default
It's like the Reclaim Energy on the wristguards. It's a nice extra little effect that you'll probably never use, but even without the Clarity these are great pants, better than anything else I've seen. CHA, INT, resists, HP, and Mana in one item?

Now if I could just find the Tattered Silk...
Ahem... this r0xx0rz

Clarity as a right-click? Rock.

As a 55 Enchanter, I am constantly in raid-type situations where you have a total wipe-out from people not assisting, or mobs coming too fast, or whatever... there are so many variables in a big raid you can't really place blame. Anyway, when the cleric has just rezzed you, and everyone is trying to get to combat readiness as fast as possible, a free Clarity is invaluable to toss on clerics, newly rezzed party members, and your newly rezzed self in an attempt to get everybody moving again. Absolutely PERFECT for Plane of Sky raids, when people have to axe themselves in order to move to the next island.

In general situations, yes, you're going to want to use C2 all the time. But when you're trying to recover from mass rezzings, this effect will cut your downtime in half, at least, until you can get back up enough mana to start C2-ing everybody around you. And downtime only makes people bored and angry.

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 21 2001 at 9:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The effect suxxor cause it takes 18 seconds and you'll be using c2 at the level you can get these anyway :P
RE: Hehe, cast time is 18 seconds
# Apr 03 2001 at 12:22 PM Rating: Default
this is good for casting it on guildmates or just strangers & ye can once & for all throw away the old spell - nothing is more tedious than switching back & forth between C1 & C2 due to targets lvl :-)
Where do I get a pair of these?
# Mar 21 2001 at 8:35 AM Rating: Default
Glad to be the first to ask on this. So where are these dropped? And what do I have to face to get one of these?
