Scars of Velious
Got a couple of these in arena tonight - group of three: 64 monk, 65 chanter (both me, dual boxed), 51 shammy guildee for heals. Mobs went down fast and easy. Had a couple others who joined in for faction on and off, but even with just the 3 of us it wasn't too hard. Strangely enough, both of these fell off the same mob a few spawn cycles apart... not sure if that's significant or just a coincidence though. Was the one up on the left platform out in front of PoZ/Ice Wall.
Can confirm that this DOES have the summon: pouch of quellious effect on it. Very nice effect, good for swap in.

I was wondering if Anyone knew when this items clicky starts to work? has anyone put it on a monk twink? and can you sneak for the turn in to avoid needing faction? if not sneak how do you get a twink the faction needed?
took my monk to the arena with shaman to see if i could get a bracer, sure enough it dropped off the same mobs as yours did, the first round he didnt drop anything, but 2nd pop there was a bracer. monk starting from scratch on faction so i was hoping to get a bit of faction before it dropped. after clearing arena twice faction is at apprehensivly to coldain, oh well now i can go back and maybe get a chest piece to drop while working faction :)
Went to the arena for hours and got 0 we got Chain Bracer Silk Bracer Plate Bracer Silk Pants Silk Gloves Chain Arms but NO leather :(

First of all it doesn't take an ultra uber guild to camp kael arena haha, Second of all odesyus is half right although obviously a noob. The stats on this bracer blow, a hardened clay bracer owns this bracer EXCEPT....
How often do you iksars (the ONLY race for monk damnit) run out of throwing items? if you solo or pull for a group if you know what you're doing you use throwing items. Now how much time do you spend trying to find a damn merchant outside of cabilis that sells shurikens? i only know one and it's also an iksar in dl, Granted if you know where the vendor is faction isn't so much of an issue because we get sneak but after about 50 FDs followed by failed sneak attempts.... this bracer is the ****! i won't ever WEAR it but i'll keep it proudly backpacked because the effect is awesome!

Posted: Jun 01 2005 at 8:08 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i beg your f'n pardon. the ONLY race for monk is human. and no monk should be able to be agnostic. there is supposed to be some devine intervention that allows a real monk to trancend the normal boundaries. with that being said, ikky suk ogre butt. they are all hacks who rely on twinking and natural regen and ac and they lose that ability to use your brain and ability to outwit and outdamage your opponent. so you have scales and grow extra feet who cares. you look like trash and i am a goddess.

If you don't have this bracer yet, and you don't mind spending a few extra plat, I'd suggest going to Thurgadin. In the back, just next to the entrance to the tunnels, there's a dorf female merchant that sells velium shurikens. No proc, but they're lighter and have better range than your normal shurikens. I think I spend a couple plat per stack. Worth it imo...
i got one last week and it has the "pouch of quellious" effect
thanks to this page i never knew the thurg bracer had it and i have been in PoG trying for a silver moon bracer
i almost didnt bother with the kael drop cause the crushed flame emeralds were selling for 900pp but i found one in thurg for 30pp and got the others for a good price in bazaar, nice surprise when i turned em in and the effect was there :)

Thanks for posting here, I was abuot to turn down a thurg bracer MQ due to the same reasons. Once I verify it after the quest I'll make sure to send in an updated picture (unless someone else will).

I just did this Quest this morning (Sept 1st) and the effect is still in place. I guess someone just needs to send in a new Screen Shot. I tested them as soon as I did my hand in and it worked fine.

now adays with the luclin expansion why u gonna need Jboots when u get run 3 faster then boots and less time conservetive\

Run3 is NOT faster than JBoots, its 1-2% slower, not enought to validate anyone 51+ ever getting JBoots tho.
Im sure alot of monks will agree that the first thing a monk should do at lvl 51 is switch to AA's and do Run1-3 ...
Of all classes, monks (and pullers in general) is the category that will benefit from run3 the most.
The only good use for of JBoots these days is as an insta-click item, and as such it will only be useful outdoors.
As for the item this thread is about, there are soo many advantages to it its hard to know where to start...
Not only does these summoned shurikens have better range (100 on the summoned vs. 60 for the store bought), they also have nice stats so you will still get some stats from the range slot, even when pulling.
I did this quest for my monk at lvl 35, my only regret is that i didnt do it earlier.

I kinda wonder how manny of the Monks that post here are ever allowed by there guilds to pull....
Bracer of Hammerfall, Wrist Wraps versions kael, pog, and tov, j boots, and shrunken goblin skull earing. These arent things you wear on a day to day basis, there things used in aiding monks for doing there 2 jobs. Jus in case you havent realized it yer job is 1 Pull and live, that means corpses and mobs (Pump up the AC/HP) and second do some DMG (Pump up the STR/ATK)
J boots, these bracers, all help you in getting yer first job done.... if you dont see how you need to delete yer monk twink and start a warrior.
For the rest of the Grand Masters sets and other similar items +attack clickable or wearable effects help in yer seocond job.
Got to admit tho huntin in the arena, killin blues and yellows to a lvl 55 just to get these pices then needing to get jems the base stats should be 5x what they are! (VI Hates Monks)

This bracer also summons "Pouch of Quellious" which is a weightless bag with 3 stacks (20 per stack) of Sherks that also have +4 dex and agil. This bracer is PRICELESS to a monk. Even if you dont wear it, just get it for the throwing weapons. They are also great to hand out at raids.
Its a nice upgrade to the bracer of Hammerfal

LOL, you're just damn spoiled, some items that are worse off for someone are not necessarily also crap to others. I have found this grandmaster's set to be quite awesome, far from being crap. It all depends on what you can get and what you can afford to get. Just one of those twinked monks dual wielding JM/KD + fungi tunic from lvl 1 with lvl 60 druid as main ? lol. Learn to play like a real monk untwinked from lvl 1.

one... this is my main, i am a person who idiotically made hit 1st chara a monk, and hense turned out very poor: hense the basis of my complaining.
two... i believe i should reword my statement to: "Why is all monk no drop stuff that you dont need ultra uber guilds to get crap?" yes, there is nice monk stuff out there, if you have uber cash, or an uber guild. Why cant we have good armor that doesn't suck that is practical for your 50s monk that has an average guild (uber in spirit) and no cash? i rely on no drop armor... but i cant make by with some pos bracer 6ac 2str agi and shivercrap.... varient, plz cut us some slack

In my opinion this is one of the best velious quest pieces for a monk in the game. The bag it self is pretty useless, 100% wt reduction but only tiny capacity :|, but the shurkiens are real nice, adds +4 dex and agi I think and have some cool dmg and real nice range. This bracers effect seems very effective for pulling mobs in HoT, etc. It's real nice to summon shurkiens for free that are better than velium shurkiens (9pp for a stack or so) and also have a stat buff + better range. The better the range the less damage your gonna take running back to fd so the tagger can tag, etc.
Thurgadin monks get screwed. No effect on the bracer. Every other class gets an effect but not us. We have to go the way of the dark side and join Kael, raid PoG, or do Skyshrine quest to recieve the effect.

This is not even worth getting for iksars. Our Shackle of Steel is Ac9 str5 sta5 mr5 wt0.1 Which is far better than the crap stats on this. If you want it for the Pouch of Quelious, get the planar drop, much easier. I wouldnt wear this thing if it was given to me. It sucks...

I am maxxed in my throwing skill and it is a great way to pull. Therefore instead of beggin a mage or someone with a hammerfell bracer for a throwing wep i can just click this badboy and get a load of shurikens which add more stats (3dex and agi i think). I wouldnt wear this during a fight, but alternate it with my Bracer of Benevolence( look it up, it rox)

the bracer now has the effect that all the other monk velious bracers have, it was added a few patches ago, this is just an old picture

guys, right quick did calculations for the full set of gm. Here are the raw numbers:
ac58 hp160 sr42 dx8 sa13 ag22 ch0
m11 f11 p11 c11 d11 wt1.1
Now assuming that raw ac and ag translate up higher that makes
ac@1.5 = 87 @2.0 = 116
ag@1.5 = 33 @2.0 = 44
The other stats I think are direct transfers and don't need modifiers the full suit is nice at wt 1.1 however for a full suit the resists suck, for a full suit the ac sucks, for a full suit for a MONK theres not a lot of DEX, AGI, STR, AC. This i think is shameful since these stats are the same as the planar armour from POG. Notice that all this gear is magical and not just cloth. Which means it is supposed to have a magical dweomer. For a magical dweomer from a planar stand point it's pathetic. I agree with each of you that there are much better items and it would seem that whoever made this eq was actually going back to prekunark standards for monk. Remember the sashes and headbands? Shocking. Feel free to correct any of the math. It's still quite pathetic.

hehe yea these do have the effect now only diff is the summon time is not the long *** cast time of the PoG bracer but instant summoning which can be pretty damn funny when you drop 50 somethin bags and stars on the ground in NFP and everyone scrambles to pick the bags up ^.^

PoG bracer has the same stats but has the effect "Pouch of Quellious" - Summons a bag full of throwing thingies

Actually I believe Verant fixed the quest bracers for monks to include Pouch of Quellious.

i thought the quest armor is same as POG armor, the stats of the bracers are the same, except that POG armor has effect: "pouch of velious"

it has the effect but the effect is broken as of 4/1/00 dunno when they plan on fixing it, but I have been mailing eqtesting for 3 months heh
