The crown isnt bad. 5 int = good... and if the cap (where ever it may be)... 35 mana makes up the difference...

Sta is good too... hps! hps = l33t.

ac is ok...

svm good... svf ... could be better =P

The quest armor is sliding down to mid level gear - heh
in case you didn't know this ...

The reason that the Velious quest armor generally gives MANA and other increases is very simple. At the level needed to complete the quests, most wizards are already at the 200 INT soft cap. No point in having anything more than 200 because the ratio drops to 1:1 for anything higher. The best way to get more mana is to get +mana equipment. Other stats increases are nice also, particularly STA, AGI, and STR. STA gives more HP, AGI makes mobs miss you more often and hit for less and slightly increases AC, and STR lets you carry more (Yay!).

Well this is how it is get your calculators.

Mana up to 200 is for each point of Int multiply it by your level divided by 5

After 200 its becomes half that but it can go past 250 its limited by the cap on the stat so can be increased with Planar Power or anything that increases the Int cap. any Int in this range gives you for each point Int your level divided by 10.

anything that puts your int beyond its capped amount (250-355 depending on what AAs you got) is probably 1:1.

Times have changed a bit since this was posted. The soft cap is now over 200 (250 I believe), but the principle is the same.

The soft cap is still 200. There's a less hard cap from 200 to 255, and is reported to be changing again with PoP. From 200-255 Int/Wis you get half the mana you get from whatever-200 Int/Wis.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 01 2001 at 9:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is junk compared to mage gloves (which i have *snicker*)
#Anonymous, Posted: May 24 2001 at 2:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well arch mages crown is comparable to this, and compare your arch mages gloves with wizards-- about the same
Stamina has no effect on meditation.

The only things that effect your mana regeneration are your level, and your meditation skill. Well, aside from clarity effects. In any event, stamina effects how long you can perform physical activities(running, swimming, melee, etc) and your hp.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 29 2001 at 1:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) stamina also effects how fast your mana regerates while meditating...besides, now you frial wizzies can go practice your swimming without having to go on shore every 5 seconds to regain stamina.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 27 2001 at 1:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Nice to see VI finally giving us wizzies some STA boosts on an item, I know it can be so hard to wear a robe that weighs 0.1 anyway.
