I play with the pre-Luclin graphics and want to know does this cap have a graphic for a Halfling? My druid has this and its no graphic on a Wood Elf, but does that mean all races dont get a graphic for this cap?
MQ'ing
# Sep 19 2002 at 2:15 PM Rating: Decent
I did a MQ last night where the person handing the armour in was "ally" and the person with the gems "warmly", so I don't know why it didn't work for you.

Providing you can both get the quest text from the NPC, mq'ing should work.
MQ Failed :(

Man I'm pissed, just tried to mq this for a guildie tonight. I handed in the cap, she handed in the gems right after,(not stacked) and no reward :( Gave it in to the right person, she has warmly faction, I have ally faction. Wich makes me wonder, does the faction have to be equal between the two persons to mq stuff? Warmly is enough, that's one just before ally isn't it? Sigh, oh well, will have to wait for another leather cap to drop again. Of course I also talked to the GM and he said he couldn't do anything. :P

The items Required to do the quest are 3 Crushed Onyx Sapphires, and 1 Corroded Leather Cap. I got the Corroded Leather Cap in the Arena in Kael Drakkal, and the 3 Crushed Onyx Sapphires can be gotten from the Suits of Sentinent Armor. The gems seem to be fairly uncommon, but the Suits are soloable (at 52 I was soloing them). Really all you need are 3 gems off those, and you can find people who are usually willing to trade one of your gems for the ones you are looking for. There are many other places the gems drop, but the Suits provide exp and more importantly soloable....so no sharing the booty! (thats awful, but I cant stand losing the roll on something that I need badly, to someone who is probably going to sell the gems anyway)

Good Luck on the Quest, and yes it is a nice cap even for over 50, this allowed me to dump 2 Jasper Rings for 2 Diamond Rings, which only cost me 4 wis to gain 14 to all Saves.

I get tired of the "200 wis is so easy to get" posts. Yes, it is easy to get with easily filled items like +6 wis rings and +7 veils, etc. But once you have those things, and you have reached 200, you start looking for ways to boost other stats WHILE keeping 200 wis. The first things you want to replace tend to be those cheap, BIG WIS, items like the rings. If I replace my two rings with resist gear, bam - 14 wis down the toilet. So any item that gives big wis is still valuable, even to a 51 druid with 202 wis (was 210 but have been making those wis for AC/MR trades lately).

This item has decent AC as well as some MR. Pretty damn good if you ask me.

graphic?

does this have a graphic? im sick of my NS wreath, but i like the fact that it doesnt have a graphic

No graphics to the best of my knowledge. At least the Wovenm Grass Cirlcet I use has none, and it uses the parallel quest from Skyshrine, so results should be the same...
Accuracy
# May 22 2001 at 12:33 PM Rating: Default
Anyone know the accuracy of the data above? In the Allakhazam stuff it says 0.6 weight and Rowyl's. The screenshot says 5.5 weight and Rowly's. Not that it makes much difference, but I'd hate to think that someone is posting bogus screenshots.

It really is .6 weight... Got one last night. maybe the item was decreased in weight by VI in a patch after the picture was taken.. /shrug

And i just noticed this... Its Rowyl's and not Rowly's.. haha :)

this sucks, f*** you

200 wis is not easy to get for anyone who is playing there first char over lvl 20;|. my druid has a 180 wis at lvl 39, and i cant wait to do this quest, considering that my base wis is 100 and its damn expensive to get 200 wis. the only 2 slots left i have to get are the feet and the belt slot so im saveing for crystline belt and GEBs, but even then its only 191, unless i plane on paying 25kpp i dont think i can get 200 wis unless i do this quest so until there is something else i can camp or a way to make pp easy you can take that "this items sucks" attitude and shove it.

your truely, another newbie trying to make it in this cold hard world of norrath.

actually 200 wis isn't hard to get even for a first character. My druid has an unbuffed wisdom of 236, and has had over 200 wisdom since mid 20's. He's 49 now. He is my first character over level 10. Not hard to get there. 236 wisdom is nothin. He often sits at 255 with c3.

"(A) sucks. I would rather use a (B)."

In my experience, my friend, this tends to be an assinine thing to say when dealing with armor at this level. People who say such things seem to forget that not all of us happen to have the (B) item in our inventory, and that with that in mind the (A) item happens to be a darn nice piece of armor.

Furthermore keep in mind that 200 wisdom is NOT always easy to get for all of us, especially when one is also trying to maximize other stats as well for specific purposes. For example, a person might be trying to pump up their magic and fire resists for a dragon run while keeping their wisdom as high as possible. I cannot speak for you, but when I switch to my own maximum resist gear my wisdom drops well below 200. An item like this would allow me to try to keep both up.

More to the point, of course, a person at level 50 who was trying to maximize their mana reserves would find that an item that gave 8 wisdom (as this does) provides 80 mana as long as they stay at or below 200, which is more than the 50 mana given by the Platiunim Tiara. I'd look for a mana item to use in a slot where I had a better trade-off myself.

You might say that you have other preferences for your own needs given your own existing collection of armor, but to say that this item "sucks" really misses the point of such an item and utterly mischaracterizes it.

nice, but

wow, what's the circlet made out of, lead? that's one heavy head piece.

Druid armor is always heavy; it's a balancing punishment for being able to kite. The fearplane bracers used to be 9 each.

It'll still be a nice addition on PvP servers to a druid. :)
