Scars of VeliousI was in Kael just for the faction. Not that I needed it, cis both my CoV and Thurg factions are maxxed, but I was helping a friend build hers. Now chain drops for thrug armor quests aren't realy all that common. In fact, this was this first I'd seen. So it would have been quite a wait for me had I been expecting this drop. I'm not even considering looking for other pieces.
The stats are realy disappointing considering the rarity of the drop you need from Kael. I currently wear Crystal Chitin Handwraps. These have similar melee stats, but more resistances, plus effect:haste. I may hold onto the chain gaunts and complete the quest later if I find myself in need of replacement gear. But otherwise, nothing to be excited about.

Corroded chain gloves drop off giants in kael. Arena, plaza and for those of you brave enough, KT area are great places in kael to hunt for these. I have a pair on me now unfortunalty I have to chain em for a guildie, only problem is so far no guildies are interested in them, lol. Gems needed to for these drop in sg and vl. You need at least Kindly faction to quest for them to. I'm not sure about lvl though. Let's say someone lvl 44 with kindly faction wanted to MQ these, would it work?

Who cares if they are not "much" better. The reason you want them is:
a) They are better than Woven Shadow (imo as I focus on AC first, Str second) and RyGorr
b) They match my Brigand's Chestguard
c) They match my Brigand's Greaves
d) They will match my Brigand's bracer when I get the games
e) They are BLACK! Therefore, even if I do not have all Brigand's equipment, it will match my Woven Shadow equipment and Myrloker equipment!
Its all about style my friends. ;)

The AC increase from Woven Shadow to Brigand's is marginal (+2), whereas the MR decrease is significant (-8). Personally I'd wear Woven Shadow over these in a heartbeat because of that.
well... as far as the effort to get them it's more just chance. Where you have to hunt to get any of the Thurg quest gear everything drops... so there's a chance of getting the legs or arms as well as the gaunts... all just perspective... and they are decent gloves... just not great :)
In all honesty, I'd keep my woven shadow gloves. Frankly, I'm not real interested in two points of ac while sacrificint two or three points of strength and five points of dex. AC isn't that important to me because if I'm getting hit by a mob, either my evade is failing a lot or my tank sucks. Also, getting the woven shadow gloves is relatively simple. It seems that they drop about every time I go to Hate, even if nothing else from that line of armor does.

Agreed that they are not much better than rygorr, but ther ARE better.
With the 1 extre str, the net strain on your carrying capacity is 0.5.
1 AC, 2 vs magic, and 3 agi, is not a major upgrade, but is IS and upgrade.

These gloves are only marginally better than my current iksar scaled gloves. For the effort to get these, they could have been a whole lot better.
I got the iskar scaled in the commons for 50pp. They are a common drop from a easy (relatively) mob.

Not all rogues can wear the Iksar scaled gloves :)
