vs Earthcaller in Primary?
I can't decide, as a ranger with both epics (1.0) would this be a better weapon in my primary slot than Earthcaller? I don't melee too much but when I do I can't say the rate of proc's on the Earthcaller makes it as good as I thought it would, even with the extra proc aa's. Nice when it does proc mind. Am I going to get more value overall from the Soulpiercer, I'm inclined to think so but wouldn't mind knowing what more learned others think.

Sometimes I can't love this site enough! I looted this last night and was thinking, "Hmmm, this thing would be a good replacement for my Earthcaller when I don't need slows? Wonder if that's a good idea?" Hehehehehe! Thanks for the info, gang!

I have this beauty for my own ranger, though I do not have my epics yet. But what I would do is, if you are needing to slow, keep EC equipped until it procs, then equip this bad rascal. I gotta say I am in love with this pigsticker. I'd be grinnin like the village idiot for the rest of my EQ life if it were possible to wield 2 of these together. But that'd be too much fun wouldn't it?

Cipheron is an Enchanter Epic 1.5/2.0 encounter, when Cipheron dies, his only loot is a piece for the Epic, which is lootable only by an Enchanter at the proper stage of his epic. If an Enchanter in the proper stage of his epic loots the piece, then there is a chance for a chest to spawn which contains the uber drops you mention. If anyone else loots the epic piece, the corpse poofs, no chest, no loot, no nothing... which would make it hard to farm him all night with a time guild or whatever, since I imagine they would quickly run out of enchanters at the proper stage of their epic to loot the piece.... care to elaborate?

anyone know how often this procs? thinking about getting it for my BL for soloing, currently using the velium inlaid claws in both hands, one of which has the vientapper (lifetap) proc... if this procs a lot, i guess it might be worth it... thanks for any suggestions.

its that way now, but for the first 2-3 weeks after OOW was released these mobs could be farmed.

all you needed at that time was a lvl 1 of the class whose 1.5 piece was for to loot the piece to get the chest to spawn. i was part of a small group that regularly took out Capn Varns for the SK 1.5, when we couldnt find a high lvl SK looking for the piece we startded running alts out in between spawns to loot to get the chest. we even ended up creating 2 SK's and running em out there to loot at lvl 1 and that worked, but we figured it was only a matter of time before it was nerfed. we took advantage of this oversight while we could and got some really nice drops ( i personally got a mana pres 4 finger ring and some nice boots for my druid )

Capn Varns was also upped in difficulty we usually did him single group 60-65 non EP he's a bit tougher now.

Question

Is the Rune a click or a proc ?
RE: Question
# Sep 23 2004 at 11:19 PM Rating: Default
Its a proc. Anytime is says combat next to the effect, that means it will only work during combat. That means you gotta be swinging it for it to work.

What I am curious to know is if the proc needs the stone component as the description states?

Bought this on Veeshan for 20,000 plat the other night. Very nice deal on something that will last my ranger a nice long time. I knew there was a reason I worked on piercing with him.

Doesn't require the catseye for the proc, and also the proc casts instantly rather than taking 3.5 seconds like the spells does.

OoW seems to be giving an alternate way (without timesink of flagging) for folks to get good gear **ATTUNABLE** So far in OoW I have seen some really nice drops. I am curious to see more of this expansion.
missed it

This dropped last night for a group I left 30 minutes before to get ready to log out. The winning roll was over 90 /shrug.

Oh well there is always another time.

My Ranger picked on of these up today in WoS. Very nice. Huge upgrade for me. Now only need to get piercing up to par. Put it in off-hand and it climbed from 6 to 74 in about 2 hours.

Personally for a drop off yard trash named this is pretty sweet.

This is just a continuation of what we all saw for drops in gates, think about what drops in natimbi off lvl 45 trash mobs.

But you could be very correct here, gonna be interestig to see some of the Raid loot from OoW.

It is pretty funny that almost everyone accept for Rogues are managing to get their hands on this piercer;although it says it is a common drop it took me 2 months of camping Chimera Seether whenever I had the chance to finally get Soulpiercer to drop for my Rogue.I am pretty happy with it.
