Holding Agro

Hey gang, 70th warrior here, and I use 2 70th DoN purchased weapons, one similar to SoD. Both have augs added, which gives me 2 procs per weapon, one being a hate proc. I have spell crit maxed, and don't lose agro alot with dex at 440. My group normally consists of a shammy, who cranks malo/slow back to back and 3 over zealous druids and mage who are all maxed on spell crit aa's, and I don't lose agro often. I think BoC at high levels is over rated, maybe nice for lowers, but wouldn't give up my extra slots on my weapons for anything. Hope this advice is good for you. BTW, do not belong to a guild, so I don't have access to the more uber raid stuff, hope this helps.

Ok...if you have both of these BBC and a BoC which one would be primary and which one would be secondary. My main is ElE 70 Bst, but I also have a war alt. (War alt is 47 as of this post and I just purchased the BBC today on CT server for 42k and a Cloak of Greater Pernicity-item throw in.) Seller sold it to me after some negotionating with his original price of 50K. Am now saving up for BoC so by the time I get somemore levels I will have some nice weapons. Am not really experinced with these 2 weapons so if anyone who actually has both or if you play the numbers game and know which slots to equip these 2 weapons in (BoC & BBC) I would greatly appreciate the feed-back.

Have a great day all :)

lol, hey bud, will ask my friend which he prefers in primary, has a BBC and i just gave him the BoC off my alt so will see which he's found works best in primary. My thought is that boc would be best for primary but will see what he thinks.

PUT THE BoC in primary!!! warriors suck at agro without good weapons, gear, augs etc....work the agro proc off the BoC and make many people in your group happy.

that is unless you have WA5 or something it will proc more in the primary unaided by aas

bbc+boc

im a 55 war and i use bbc with a bite of ykesha aug in my primary and boc in the ofhand. i absolutly love it i can hold aggro like noone's buisness (has got me some unwanted attention a few times namely from a giant worm on the moon during a raid lol) but that aside i love this wep with 255 dex it procs an ungodly amount great choice for a wep.
Throwback?

Am I the only one who thinks of "The Butcher" and his cleaver, from Diablo I, when I think of this item?

Yes but it can make a great offhand weap for a warrior as well depending on what is in the primary hand.
looking for a sword to replace my SoTB

I have my Bite of Yak augged BoC in my Pri and SoTB unaugged in my offhand. I was wondering if this wep would generate More, same or less Hate than the SoTB?

Just curious..

BoC > BBC. BoC is still the best buyable agro weapon. If you want a ac debuff weapon go with the Sword of Midwinter's Vengeance.
Agro?
# Sep 30 2004 at 8:19 AM Rating: Default
Hello all -

I am a 65 warrior that uses a BoC (primary) and a Mace of Memories (secondary) ATM. I was thinking of replacing my BoC with this weapon and handing the BoC down to a twink. Does anyone know if this thing has good argo? I'm not sure what the proc bonus is, and I'm also unsure of how "lowering armor class" affects agro. Can I get some advice here? =)

Compared to a BoC, the aggro on this will be non-existent. Stick with a BoC until you can get something else that has a nice hate proc on it. The only option would be to put an Anger III augment on it.

Actually, you are wrong there. The hate produced by the proc on the BBC is pretty nice. It may not be as much as a BoC, but I would be willing to be it is close, and certainly not "non existant" the proc is not just a 30 DD, its an AC debuff, and ac debuffs are huge agro.
Test it before you knock it man.

Aye, debuffs are great agro.. ask any ranger who keeps flamelick loaded to save the caster's ******

However, Direct hate > debuff. Stick with the BoC.

I can spam flame lick all day long, and can't hold agro from warrior with a couple hate procs.

I think you're right on that, but I love the stats on this thing. Anyone know what the graphic looks like? Might be worth buying for when some time-geared warrior is MA over me =)

It has the graphic of a Green Jade Broadsword.

When my 65 war is not MA, i like to use Velium Gemmed Long Swords which are 16/20. If i dual wield those it looks kinda cool i think. And, only costs like 10kp each. For MA i just have splitblade and BoC both with anger 3 augs. But then, im not in a guild and cant really get anything uber.
