required expansion

Might I add that the LoY expansion is also required. One of the pages drop in Crypt of Nadox.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2004 at 3:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) the thing about the argument saying all your casters will have mana regen...it's weak. Those inventory slots aren't going to have the same item forever, and when you replace it, you lose that ft. Having new, better stat ft items is never a bad thing.
Regen

When are the going to realize that Mana Regen is 10x more powerful then Regen? I mean,

Mana Regeneration +3
Regeneration + 30

would be far more fair.

i play a 68 beastlord and item regain does add up specialy when u have all defensive aa's mobs tend to miss alot so regain is noticable even during fights, does make a big diff. 3 regain may not be alot but combined with spell regain and other regain items throw in a bard n a few aa's, just saying that 3hp may not sound alot but combined its very effective...
just my 2cp...

Just from my perspective and what I have noticed, regen is not meant to allow you to solo something, just as FT isn't why a caster can solo something. (talking about higher lvl content) Regen helps just like melee mitigation its the complete stacking of all the combined things that make it good.

Regen is nicest when twinking, so is FT however, if you could get 5FT at level 1, I'd imagine leveling would be considerably easier, especially for hybrids where they can benefit from the regular regen as well.

My point?
Regen cap is what 35?
FT cap w/o aa is 15...
There is a reason for that, there are quite a few items with regen on them that are useful at higher levels even.

However I partially agree, would be nice to see some more regen on items maybe 1-3 more at most.

yeah personally I think hp regen is useless unless you're a lower level, cause I mean seriously...if you're level 65 and you're tanking something that hits for 200+ dmg a hit regeneration won't do much.

i beg to differ... imho...

regen is innate. With stacked regen of say 25/tick (high end char), withing a group (say WoS) where you spend 4hrs leveling that night
(4x60minsx60secs/6tic = 2400 times u regened for 25 which is 60,000 hp)
You have saved your cleric from 60k of hp to heal. That's roughly 7-12 CH's since they never really heal you to the very max of 10k.

In the case of 10regen, it's total of 24,000hp. about 3-5 ch's. Over time it makes a difference.

FT and Regen are not things that SoE place in the game so you can replace heal (i.e. 100regen/tic). It's a form of inate "help" to the characters.

If you have it, GREAT (don't complain). If not, there are always ways to find more.

while probably not 10-to-1 better, mana regen is IMO far more useful to most hybrids (I want to say any hybrid but that's asking for someone to prove me wrong) than HP regen. I play a paladin, I have a level 56 (I think) spell called breath of tunare, that costs 1 mana to cast, is a self only HP regen / mana drain that converts mana to HP at a rate of.... I wanna say 4 mana to 12 hp per tick, could be wrong. Point is, I have not cast this spell since hitting level 59, because the HP per mana is slightly less efficient than a heal-over-time would be.

Celestial cleansing, the pally level 59 heal, does 5 shots of 175 per tick for 225 mana, supernal cleansing is about the same mana efficieny but heals more per tick for a similarly higher mana cost.

Point being, me regaining 3 mana a tick is about the same value to me as regaining 12 HP a tick, at least that's the way I figure it. Rangers and beastlords both get heals and regen spells that let them turn mana into HP at a better than 1-to-1 ratio, SKs get lifetaps and such, and you better believe that bards love to get their hands on FT wherever they can, because it's the only thing that lets them regen mana faster for the small but potent range of songs that cost mana. So yes, while the three HP regen on this earring is nice, to me it is nowhere near as nice as the 3 mana regen. But any way you slice it, this earring is pretty sweet =P

Regen, especially for melee classes is also a LOT easier to come by. Being a hybrid, I've been looking for FT for AHWILE. This, and the VP necklace, have me more than satisfied.

Mana is not even close to that more useful for regen purposes, it's only that mana can be turned into many hps but not the other way around. Any regen is basically for down time and they don't give it out all at once so all melee can unsuccessfully try to use hp regen in a battle...

Right, getting 1/5th of the way to the mana regen cap is equivalent to getting 6/7th of the way to the HP regen cap.

That's just a ridiculous statement.
FT for melee?
# Jul 26 2004 at 3:48 AM Rating: Default
FT3 to a bard ( at this level of play ) is like C3 and C3 to a bard no matter the level of game play is like Ft 34592852892385923895.5 to a caster .. bards get med skill of one and never more. our Direct damage AE nuke ( 507 Pts epic in hand ) takes 800 mana and fading memories takes 900 mana.. IMHO this is a bard ring all the way
just my oppinion though :)

It's a bard ring all the way?? What the hell does that mean on a NO DROP quest-only ring? That mean that nobody but bards should even be allowed to do the quest? Maybe SoE should make it so that once someone completes the quest they are required to give the result to a bard. Myabe GM's can intervene here because--what was that?--oh, its a NO DROP quest-only (and by thy way non-MQable) item.

How old are you? 10? Saying that an item is only for a particular class when its the result of an indiviudal QUEST is so rediculous. I bet you don't even have access to Veeshan's Peak in the first place.

I recommed you delete you character and go back to your xbox, the concepts of eq apprently are too much for you to comprehend at this age.

It's an *earring* for anyone that takes the time to do the quest. It's not like the quester has to be awarded the loot, so it doesn't matter what class they are, as long as they can get it done.

Not really sure what you were trying to say with the whole FT3 and C3 thing, C3 does nothing for bards, so FT3 is like C3 + 3 mana regen.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 26 2004 at 5:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Then go do the quest
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 24 2004 at 11:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's kinda stupid that the caster version of this does not have mana regen.Of course warrior's and berzerker gonna need lots of mana.

It'll be kinda weird actually if the majority of casters aren't capped FT or very close to cap at this level of gameplay (new key requires killig a 3k quadding dragon w/ a 2k AE iirc... hopefully your force is reasonably geared up in order to kill him). Our average priests and casters run FT 15-20 on average counting from items, have a wizard wearing FT 27, and we are just in EP. You wonder why the casters bytch about raising the FT cap heh.

On the other hand... for a 135hp earring with FT3/regen3, the mobs you need to kill for this are rather easy imo, tho I take it will be a time consuming one.
