I just picked one up from a hill giant in the commonlands.
i got one off of the aqua goblins in bbm. i just slaughtered then and it fell from one of em.
they were be the dock to the south.

Since the patch and revamp of the cultral armor and augs that go with it, the Lambent Stones are now useless for them.
Now also dropped by elite sand giants in the revamped SRo.
I have farmed HG's in RM many times to get plat. I usually get a Lambent stone atleast once every 10 kills. To me that is common. average 6 - 10 an hour.
Anyone know better spot to find lambent besides giants in rath mountains and oasis, and griffins...? they are all in all not very common drops.. i have killed 48 hill giants so far this morning in the past hour... an i quit i got 4 lambent stones total.... so not very common anyone know a betetr spot?
All I can say is that you must really be unlucky when you are in RM. I personally took 2 today in RM in 3 kills, one of them was the Tainted HillGiant. And I can say that I have recovered close to 40 Lambent Stone in my recent trips to RM.
Due to the DoN cultural armor quests, these items are no longer lore
I found one of these from an EK hill giant tonight and they are no longer Lore items.

Got one off one of the named orcs in Highpass Hold. Also got the Shralok Pack (25% weight reduction). Guess it was a good day for me.

This is also used to get the Darkwood Staff which is needed for the Wizard's quest for the Staff of Temperate Flux.
These stones are used for the Lambent Armor quest, which is decent bard-only armor. If you are planning on doing the Lambent quest, keep in mind that these stones are Lore. If you are guilded, it's helpful to have some of your mates hold on to a few for you while you're gathering the other necessary components. Wouldn't it bum you out to be farming these with a group of strangers, just to find out you can only hold one at a time?

Sand Giants in S Ro and Oasis occasionally drop these.

Hill Giants, Sand Giants & Griffins. Around the mid 30's in level.
